Their stage was so good and I hope the song's success leads to SM doing more about this unit. They deserve a full album and a proper round of promotions.

This isn't a big deal but sure it's embarrasing. Just how sad you must be if you spend your time searching for and buying a bunch of replicas online just to build an image of luxury.

She's the Krystal of the group and while I usually don't usually like this ice princess stereotype on the stage, I think she makes up for her lack of facial expressions with her dancing and "singing" (between quotations because while aespa is always lipsynching it's pretty obvious she has a really good voice). She isn't a lazy performer at all.
In fact, I feel like if Aespa was able to sing live or at least use a backtrack this would improve their stage presence enormously because they clearly can't lipsynch well and it makes them look more awkward than they should be.

I don't know if it's because of the star power from all the girls but I really liked the song despite it being exactly the type of music I usually don't like or listen to from SM. Of couse the lyrics are a mess but I understand why they picked this song since it highlights perfectly the talents of every member.

Lipsynching in excess is a problem but isn't the main reason why they are not hitting big in the US. The song being in korean instead of english and the fact Savage isn't a public friendly song are the main issues. Also, while it's something subjective, I feel like western performers are being overhyped. Nowadays who else other than Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars can deliver spetacular performances? IMO the era of great performers pretty much ended in the late 90s and early 2000's. Even without the fancy camerawork and with the always present untalented group members, kpop performances have so much more details and effort. To me, they usually are much more entertaining.

You made good points but you can't blame the members for this kind of behavior. Even if they said something, obsessed stans are now too far gone to listen to their scoldings. Hybe is the one at fault here (just like how SM is the one at fault for their groups' sasaeng disasters and not the SM idols themselves) for creating and encouraging this level of delusion around them. It's really noteworthy that, while being an eight year old group, none of the BTS members had any confirmed relationship for example and no one can convince me that it's not because Hybe wants to keep the lucrative narrative of the "seven pure single boys who only live for each other and their fans" for as long as they can.
See, I agree with you what said about the companies playing a huge part on this. In BTS's case though, this becomes a little bit more complicated because they are the most famous boyband in the world right now and a veteran group in Korea. At this point they don't need to go into such lenghts to not create boundaries with their fans. It's possible for them to keep the image HYBE wants them to keep and stand their ground when it comes to situation like this one. Taehyung could have asked people to stop harrassing Jennie and it wouldn't hurt his image or make fans any less obssessed with him but instead he said nothing. It makes me think the members themselves like to feed into this unhinged behavior which IMO is irresponsible and very dangerous to themselves and the people they care about. Like many here already stated, if they keep going like this I can't imagine the meltdowns when they get into public relationships. It's going to be like what DBSK went through in the past only a hundred times worse.

I'm on episode 3 and really enjoying it. It feels like a crossover between Death Note and Devilman Crybaby so it's quite violent but compelling at the same time.

I hope he takes his time to write it and doesn't change his original ideas based on popular or Netflix's demand. It would be interesting to have spin-offs with games from places all over the world but the main series is a korean series fist and foremost. My biggest fear is Hollywood taking over with actors and characters who don't add anything to the story.

I agree it can be very cringy but I rather see OTT perfomers than people staring at the camera with a blank face. In fact, I think we should cut some slack because having crazy schedules, enduring heavy choreography and still be able to try this hard says a lot about how dedicated the person is when it comes to their job.

I've seen some footage from the concert on Twitter and the situation was truly horrifying. It's unfortunate he's connected to the Kardashians who are media evil masterminds because he should lose his career and go to jail for what he's done.

Honestly, I'm just happy this means they're finally debuting. I'm just going to ignore the lore stuff like I've always done with groups I like who also have it.
-
I can see SM testing the waters and keeping him in yearly comebacks but I'm leaning more towards him being perpetually on hiatus until his contract expires. Even if western fans are more willing to forgive him, they are not going to make up for the fans (and money) he lost in China.
Also, while I don't think they have a say in this, I doubt most members would be happy about his return because one of his controversies involved dissing one of them and he ended up jeopardizing a sub-unit. SM likes to keep the image of their groups like they all are bffs so there's that.

No, I still don't like it. The mini is solid though.

What makes the situation even more sad is that Lisa herself seems to be such a sweet and friendly girl. This type of behavior seems like the complete opposite of everything we've seen of her personality.
Also at this point one day her akgaes will end up harming her career

I don't like it either but I feel like this is a marketing strategy to make kids get into the group, not us. The biggest problem in aespa case is that so far 3 out of 4 title tracks were about this lore and the lyrics are so extra it gets cringy. Hopefully it will change in the future.

Oh my... where to start? The song is definitely not my style and I agree with the comments about it sounding like a NCT song. The girls looked like they wanted to be anywhere else and I don't blame them because so would I if I had trained years of my life to end up singing My naevis we love you.

I hope Ali's actor gets to do more promo too. He did really well on the show and his character is a fan favorite.

I thought it was super cute and catchy, it sounds like it could've been an older Katy Perry song (and I say this as a compliment). The girls did really well with their pronunciation.

She's beautiful and did really well on the show. I was surprised to learn it was her first acting gig.

Everyone is proud of them, they are good citizens and need to be rewarded for their achievements. Like UK does with the OBE medals for outstanding work in their fields. But being directly linked to the government with a diplomatic passport, that is a bit much. And it doesn't make the artist really free to do whatever they feel like musically. Now they have the responsibility of the nation on their shoulders and that is a heavy weight to carry.
I know some artists get blocked for years when an album they put out exceeds even their own imagination, now imagine what BTS has achieved. I don't know if this is healthy for them, they were just young ( still are young) guys who wanted to make music, I don't know if this is what they really wanted to do or they feel obliged to do. Don't underestimate cultural differences here it would be a disgrace if they declined the offer. I hope they can carry the weight of nation and find some peace somewhere.
Mte. Regardless of this making them hypocrites or not, it doesn't seem like the type of offer one can easily refuse without facing big consequences. Saying they shouldn't accept is easier said than done. Also it wouldn't be surprising if this was the cost of their military exemption.

Sigh... I feel bad for the vocal line, who are clearly killing it, because the production has so much going on that it drowns their voices.

The OT12 EXO comment is spot on. I got into kpop because of Growl so I'll always have found memories of that time.
Other than that I definitely miss 2NE1, Gfriend, SHINee with Jonghyun, Winner with Taehyun and I wish I could've experienced TVXQ's time as OT5 because it must have been epic.

All the girls' solos proved to me how they are much better off as a group rather than soloists. It's not like they shouldn't release more solo songs, but group comebacks should definitely remain the priority.
The song is annoying, super repetitive and I couldn't even enjoy the MV properly because while it definitely had a high budget and Lisa looked gorgeous, it just felt empty.

The performances were really cute and Permission to Dance sounds so much better live.

lol, I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. Sounds like one of the stories companies make up for their celebrities to make them seem interesting and different.
