I'm trying to catch up and it's a bit confusing. Basically what happened is that there might be a close, strict group of sasaengs with their own rules and gurumi decided to break them when Taennie was revealed by exposing private pictures they had access to, right? The confusing part to me is why people are saying this means the Taennie pictures are edits.
My interpretation is that both gurumi and that Twitter person are V or Jennie fans who dislike the fact they are the couple and the news getting out, so while one reacted by exposing them as a way to force their agencies confirm the relationship and put them in an awkward situation, the other reacted with denial. At this point I feel like the pictures are the least significant evidence of them being together because the way YG and HYBE acted says much more. If they weren't together, both companies would deny it point-blank.
Idk if what I'm saying is obvious to you guys, just trying to organize my thoughts about this since it's a lot of vague information.
ED: About the lawsuit, HYBE certainly was vague but I agree it has to do with gurumi. Defamation might be chosen as a broad term because gurumi is only one of the people involved. I think she was already mentioned here but there's a youtuber who's famous for making up rumors about idols so she might be one of the people they are suing too.

Based on the teasers, Aespa or LE SSERAFIM but based on how the girls are actually styled for performances, IVE.

I find this not really acceptable considering the experience I had with (G)I-DLE live performances. if anything I want to see them on stage again cause they really mesmerized me (ofc that includes Miyeon). I don't think Jisoo and Miyeon have clear difference comparatively but they do have their own color and charisma on stage and audiences also played part shaping their stage presence.
This is exactly why I made sure to point out I don't know if she improved and was speaking from my own, limited experience. I like the group and their songs but I don't follow their activities closely so of course her stage presence might have changed with time.
That said, made sure to check right now some Tomboy performances and I don't see much difference when it comes to this aspect. I admit though she's a far more natural dancer than Jisoo so I can see why people would rather have her on the group.

I'm usually super critical of NCT music but always knew most of the boys are talented and this is a perfect showcase of that. It does indeed seem like their b-sides are being wasted and would make better title tracks than the ones they have released.
Also it highlights how SM is much better at producing vocal heavy tracks instead of hip-hop ones even if Mark and Taeyong are clearly good idol rappers.

Nope. I saw one saying why would you post this. I think the korean side is trying to keep this quiet now because of the possible ramifications.
So yeah. The Korean side definitely knows. It's not a massive amount of people I can see but it's not something hidden. But from my poor translation service thing I can see some comments aren't badmouthing her.
This is great and shows that people are having common decency. I'm pleasantly surprised because based on other dating scandals you would expect much worse reactions. Then again, this is a very unusual dating scandal with a severe invasion of privacy so it's hard to compare with other previous situations.

I think those sites know better than to spread that around since so many kpop fans were trying to stop people from spreading it due to the nature of it.
This is a possibility but those sites are also famous for translating the most controversial articles and posts for clicks so that's why it surprised me. Then again, maybe the original korean Pann doesn't allow people to make posts about that picture so there might be no posts about it to be translated or maybe the lack of posts about it are already proof of Hybe and YG taking action.
7 minutes ago, JJBB said:I thought about it too, but it doesn't seem to be working, at least in the international side. New pic today and people have already added proof that is real and others are debunking it.
I don't know about the korean side though, and that's the people they really care about.
Yeah, it seems like we barely know anything from the korean side of it. One thing for sure is that it's not affecting Blackpink's success and I highly doubt it's going to affect BTS too.

I know this is expecting way too much from both companies but I wonder if YG and HYBE are taking action behind the scenes and hoping it goes away from the media by ignoring it. I didn't see any translated post about the bathtub picture on Pannchoa, NB etc so maybe that's working?

This is highly subjective but I've always liked her voice and I can't image BP's music without it. Her biggest weakness is and has always been her dancing.
Also I don't know if Miyeon improved but I remember seeing some GI-DLE performances and she was very boring, blank faced on stage. It's not like Jisoo is a super charismatic performer either but based on what I've seen she's better than Miyeon in that aspect.

I'm not the biggest fan of JYP's music in general but this is bizarre, not their usual style at all. Of course it's better than O.O but both parts of the song sound like something a 2nd generation girl group from a very small company would release.
I saw a comment on Pannchoa saying this group should've been a Mamamoo or BEG when it comes to songs and concepts and I think it's a perfect definition. It's a shame JYP doesn't see it that way.
-
I liked all the songs but I feel like they could've been way more impressive considering it's such a short album and was released after a long hiatus. It's a decent, fun pop album and that's it.
Hard to Love is the best song and should've been Rose's solo debut instead of OTG or Gone. Also Yeah Yeah Yeah would've made a better title track than Shut Down.
-
Can't tell if I liked it better than Pink Venom or not since they are both more rap oriented but I really enjoyed it. The MV is nice but I feel like it's way too early for them to be making references of their past MVs. It would've been much more impactful if they did it for their 10th year anniversary or something like that.

I can't see anything in the trailer, I wanted underwater scenes to look like the pic below. Halle Berry is doing her best, and her voice is lovely, she does not deserve any of the hate she is getting. Disney is shamelessly using the racism as marketing to distract people from how ugly the movie looks. Don't tell me they are making it look realistic, they cannot use the "realism" excuse here, because underwater flora and fauna being vibrant is realistic.
You nailed it. Disney doesn't care about diversity, they care about money and publicity. I'm betting this is going to be another dull, lifeless frame by frame copy of the original with a couple of new songs so they can get even more money from the soundtrack. Realism isn't an excuse for how dark the ocean looks and I'm already dreading what they are going to do with Sebastian and Flounder.

I think the second season being centered on the main character's revenge is perfect even if it's obvious. He ended the first season still a very flawed and complex person and he's going against a huge system so chances are this is not going to be a simple, straight-forward revenge plot.
My only concern is Jung Hoyeon coming back because a secret twin or cousin character would be terrible. Hoping it's a flashback or something like that.

Park Hae Soo deserved at least one of those big, prestigious awards. The acting on the show was all around top-notch but his performance was a highlight.

I think O.O is composed by the same producer right (The Hub)? To be honest i'm really worried about this.
Oh my god, really? It is indeed worrisome. The girls are so talented, here's hoping they get better music.

That's what training is for. She's not a trainee anymore. The others could perform right out of the gate.
Dancing is not the only thing training is for and idols can improve a lot after they debuted. If Giselle will be one of them it remains to be seen and IMO there's still hope because the potential is there.

well duh...visuals is one of the key pillars of kpop.
Listenable, fun pop music is also one of them too.
Just now, Jikrytae said:Irene & Yoona are both more talented than Giselle, so I'm not sure where you're going with that comparison. A plastic surgeon isn't going to teach her how to dance.
You are right. A plastic surgeon won't give her skills, but practice will. Also I really like Yoona and she's not untalented but I rather listen to Giselle than her or Irene.

Let's be honest, nepotism aside, if Giselle looked like Irene or Yoona people wouldn't be having those conversations. I'm not going to mention names but how many idols with no talent SM has debuted? I would love to see this energy for tone deaf idols, especially the male ones, who have years and years of comebacks and tours but still haven't improved.

I’m a fan of both and I find it very…calculated.
Yeah. I woudn't be surprised if we got another picture tomorrow (unless HYBE and YG take actions about it).

People are saying it’s one of her friends because of how calculated this is.
It totally coud be. Someone who sold her out for money, is jealous or something like that.
It's such an awful situation. I know most of us here think this is cute and are happy for them but many ARMYs and Blinks won't see it like that. Twitter and Instagram must be hell right now and Jennie's the one who's going to suffer the most.
-
It's funny how the two new pictures look far more photoshopped than the first one with them in the car.
Also the leaks definitely seem calculated. Someone is clearly trying to bring them down since the first reactions were fine and they were even able to maintain their privacy because many fans didn't believe it even with the obvious statements from YG and HYBE.
I'm guessing maybe fans (if we can tall them that) paid someone who follows Jennie's private account to leak the images or she was hacked.
-
Other than what you guys already mentioned, I think companies finally realized a way to sell girl groups for the female audience and noticed how game changing this would be. The 3rd and 4th generation of ggs not only have good songs but follow fashion and make up trend girls' like and pay attention to. Women are a huge audience for pop music regardless of the artist gender and we've seen it on the west with Spice Girls, Destiny's Child etc. You barely see sexy and innocent concepts anymore (and thank god for that) and this is happening for a reason.

I really liked it. It's super catchy, the concept is good and all the girls looked great.

Oh, I see. Thanks for explaining to me. I agree with you both don't seem credible at all.
