  1. I really liked it but I understand the complains. Teddy has become very repetitive to the point I could hear GD and Seugri the second I heard Jennie and Jisoo in the first verse... basically most YG songs produced by him in the last couple of years sound very similar and it's tiresome. Safe but tiresome. Also it's not a coincidence the most well-liked BP song seems to be Playing with Fire, which is probably their only song you can tell it's theirs and you can't imagine another YG artist doing it.
  2. The bolded is exactly what I pointed out in the last part of my post. Also it wasn't a one time thing... there was the scamming, the fatshaming comment and then the homophobic comment. I'm sorry but to me this is bully behavior and in this case I would rather be wrong for not giving him the benefit of doubt than making mental gymnastics to excuse what he did and hurt his victims even more. Based on what you've said, it seems like you did neither which is mature and something I admit wasn't able to do when in comes to this situation, but I'm not here for the guilt tripping going on when people had their reasons to not trust Taeyong.
  3. This generation division is so tricky because I feel like there are groups in between (SHINee, SuJu etc) and there are so many different variables like biggest fandom, long term success, biggest recognition with the general public etc but IMO it should be something close to: 2nd generation: DBSK, SNSD, BigBang 3rd generation: EXO, BTS, Twice 4th: it's happening now so it's still to be determined but I would consider the Produce groups like WannaOne and Iz*one
  4. I... really liked it? Based on the comments I was expecting something awful but it's really catchy, way better than Kill This Love (in fact, I think I also liked it more than AIYL and Whistle). I agree though that it's more of the same and it would've been great if the girls were able to work with someone other than Teddy but IMO this is a solid comeback.
  5. This is true but at the same time I feel like SM and YG are just as guilty of not picking people who are now famous and undeniably talented. It's just that JYP has the most infamous cases.
  6. But what else would I or anyone think considering SM did nothing for ages and we had confirmation of him indeed being a bully in the past? It's nice that some people like you were able to see nuances and more than it meets the eye but this is definitely one of those boy who cried wolf situations. I do feel bad for him to some extent because he did what he did when he was a teenager, what the informant did was unfair and I know people can change but let's not act like this is a Lovelyz's Jisoo case in the sense he was a perfectly innocent person since the beginning.
  7. I think he's good at identifying girls with star quality and concepts that work well with the public
  8. I like the visuals, it's basically more of the same but it works. I'm more worried about the song being similar to Kill This Love (which is IMO their worst song).
  9. This is typical of every talent competition reality tv show. American Idol, The X Factor, The Voice... most contestants or even winners disappear when the show ends, which is unfortunate because many of them are very talented and deserved more. I think poor management is the biggest factor in this situation.
  10. Chen has fans turning their backs on him for getting married and having a kid while Taeyong gets excuses for being a massive bully in the past and even the opportunity to promote in a international sub-unit with some of his most famous seniors... I just don't get it.
  11. I will never get the hype about his looks but I watched Mother a couple of months ago and I definitely get the hype about his talents. He's a great actor and it's truly a waste he's been away from doing movies for so long.
  12. This is why I was never able to get into most korean variety shows. Not only most of the jokes aren't funny and the MCs can be disrespectful but many of the idols feel forced laugh it off and play it cool because of seniority. Glad Irene isn't afraid to show her true feelings because Heechul's joke was obviously in poor taste.
  13. I loved it! I don't follow Lovelyz closely so that was a pleasant surprise, I wasn't expecting this type of concept or music from one of their members.
  14. Honestly, what the hell is SM trying to do with NCT 127? This is just so try hard and dated... I keep waiting for them to have their Mirotic/Sorry Sorry/Growl and so far IMO their only title track was Limitless and that's because of the pre-chorus and the chorus. Stop giving so much focus to the rap, let the vocal line shine instead and call it a day.
  15. I loved Taeyeon's first solo album and Winner's debut but XOXO, Overdose and Exodus are pure pop perfection. IMO they are legendary pop albums in general, not only kpop.
  16. It seems like they dated and she's bitter over the break up, which is fine and understandable, but it could damage her career if she doesn't stop hinting it in public because clearly some of his/BTS stans won't like it (despite the fact they keep trying to deny this) and it makes her look immature. Also it's humiliating because he's quiet and enjoying success while she's at it.
  17. Being realistic, if she doesn't quit YG once her contract is over she will end up like Minzy with no fanbase or general public to stream her music once Blackpink is past their prime. Koreans like her voice and she needs to strike the iron while it's still hot.
  18. Based on what I've seen with Winner in their early years, this is all on YG. The fact the girls have their own instagram accounts make it seem like they have more freedom than they actually do but I'm pretty sure YG micromanages everything they post online. It took time for Winner to be able to communicate properly with their fans so I can't image how long (or if it will ever happen) it will take for a girl group to do so knowing how YG treats the women who are part of the company.
  19. I just can't fathom the idea of getting rid of one of the most talented vocalists of your favorite group because he's getting married and having children
  20. Wiith so many idol dating news in the last couple of years you would expect fandom culture to evolve at least a little bit but Idk... at the same time he has always been one of the least popular EXO members and had one of the chillest individual fandoms, it's just too much information to digest at once. I think it's not going to be as bad as Sungmin but it's still going to be bad.
  21. I always thought he would be one of the first EXO members to get married but this is so shocking. Hopefully they aren't getting married solely because of the baby but it's nice he's taking responsibility and I wish them nothing but happiness.
  22. There's no other option but disbandment but I also think the trainees that were supposed to be part of the groups should be named and given financial compensation for the damage that was caused.
  23. I swear I will never understand why SM insists on having their groups release those messy, disjointed SM Performance songs... all their acts hit it big with public friendly songs like Growl, Mirotic, Replay and Gee.
  24. It would be epic if Dara leaves and all the 2NE1 members reunite in the same agency. They are better off together.
