  1. SISTAR disbanding was mostly due to Hyolyn's solo ambitions.
  2. I've recently started to watch Kyungsoo's drama, 100 Days My Prince and I love everything so far. But it turns me off how many people compare it to Moon Embracing The Sun and how they think this is a compliment. Moon Embracing the Sun was the most visually appealing drama I've ever seen: pretty actors, pretty costumes, pretty sets, everything about it was so damn pretty, it was perfect to cleanse you eyes from the dull looking city. The story started up strong and sucked you in. In this case it's indeed a compliment. But it ended up to be such a disappointment! The female main character was unmemorable. The cheese was too much at times. In the latter half, the story dragged in a 'plot? what plot?' way. It got boring fast. I am surprised how the drama managed to keep the hype alive until the end of the series. 100 Days My Prince is already better to me plot-wise and the female character is kicking, hopefully it will keep me entertained until the end.
  3. I recently re-watched one of my favorite kdramas, Dream High. When I first watched it I used to root for Samdong so bad, but now I get turned off by him. Sure, I do like a puppy love, but 'I know you more than you know yourself' talk was so egoistical. I definitely wouldn't like a guy to workship me that much or make get into some childish competition over me, wtf? I guess the writers wanted it to be romantic, but it just weirded me out. I didn't like JinGook's character much either, even if he was more bearable. He come off quite cold to Hyemi starting from the latter half. And surprisingly, I found the Milky couple quite boring this time and they used to be my favorites. The two teachers ended up my OTP among them all.
  4. Kicking HyunA and E'Dawn is a bit extreme, but I do understand Cube's rage. Her talking to the journalists behind their backs and confirming the relationship when Cube already denied made them look like literal fools. Like what was the purpose of Hyuna going her way out to admit the relationship anyway? There was no scandalous photo evidence to incriminate the couple, they were working together so they could brush it off by saying they are close friends. Actually, she was more free to intereact with her lover than many other idols. There was no reason for her to start messing around with her otherwise good image, her boyfriend's career and relation with Cube. It feels to me that everyone involved took a hit because HyunA couldn't keep her mouth shut a little. I guess there must be more to the story than that, but to me it seems that it was very stupid decision of her part. I hope Cube keeps E'dawn at least. Pentagon got some hype with Shine, God knows if he is going to even perform again if he leaves Cube in such condition.
  5. No, you're not the only one. When they were in Cube, their songs had this dreamy, melancholy feel to them, like Fiction, On Rainy Days, 12:30, Ribbon, Good Luck which created a concept distinct from other boy groups. Their new sound isn't all that bad, but it felt like they lose their originality on the way.
  6. Told ya, guys, that it might surprise us. Korea got open to a wider range of songs than just cute, this concept is fresh for the girls and fits them to a T, the song is GREAT. I like it way better than You Think and All Night. Hearing Hyoyeon singing the chorus with Taeyeon really gives a new sound to SNSD's music and it works so well. Like if you told me some years ago that Hyoyeon is going to sing the chorus I would have said 'No way!'. I am happy Sunny's vocals got to shine here too. Taeyeon was so charismatic all through the MV (too bad, SM did a lazy job with the MV but it doesn't bother me). I used to hate Yuri's short hair but I am warming up to after watching the MV. I am just super happy for the girls in general. Maybe the song's initial success will make SM rethink the decision of no promoting. I want to see them performing!
  7. I think Koreans started to warm up a lot to girl crush/dark concepts compared to the last few years. I won't give BlackPink as an example because anything they released would be hyped up anyway. But Apink, an old group, did AMAZING with a dark sound which is different from their usual image. I was surprised in a pleasant way. The most successful rookie group at the moment, G(I)-dle is a girl crush group. I see a lot of girl group switching up to more mature concepts. Even on Produce 48, the best charting song was one with darker theme. I think girl crush is slowly coming back in trends. With that being said, I still don't have high expectations, but if the song is good, then who knows? It might surprise us...
  8. Other than the Japanese girls and Chaeyeon; Hyewon, Minju and Chaewon making into the group made me the happiest. Both Hyewon and Minju were given consistent storyline which made them rootable. They are one of the most likable girls in the final group. Not to mention they are gorgeous. Chaewon was the dark horse of the season with extremely sweet vocals and fresh visual.
  9. I expected to shed tears in this final, but I couldn't get myself to, not even when Chaeyeon who is my one pick got 12th place. My anger towards MNET overshadowed everything. I am so angry and sad that I wasted SO much time with this show, only for it to have such an outcome. I swear this must have been rigged. How could they do this to the Japanese girls? I really wanted Miyu, Miu and Juri in the final. Miho wasn't my top 12 pick, but I started to like her after 1000% and 'I am in your care' because she has a nice vocal color. The Japanese girls were behind Korean girls in terms of training, but they worked so hard to keep up, they all had stage presence, great fanservice, some of them were making big efforts to learn Korean. All of it went to waste. It wouldn't have been so heartbreaking if they weren't top 12 last episode, but they were up there, only to end up sweeping the floor of top 20. So many hopes and dreams were crashed... And no way I am going to believe Lee Gaeun is 14th. She only dropped 8th during 2nd elimination, but she was in top 12 all season long and kept 1st position for half of the show. I am not going to believe that people like Minju, Chaewon, Yuri, Yena suddenly had more votes than her. NO WAY! Chaeyeon being 12th place, after getting all the positive edit, the most viewed fancam, center position in Korean song...she should have been top 4. Miyu dropping even when she was shown as fighting for 12th place. Objectively, it's a solid group. Yuri was one of the best singers this episode. Chaeyeon is the best dancer this season and both her and Eunbi are all rounded. Wonyoung is a perfect center for Korean promotions (except her age), Sakura, Nako are popular in Japan, Hitomi dances well, Minju and Hyewon are visuals. Ahn Yujin is a much better singer than some people give her credit to, she has a nice vocal color too. Chaewon is actually lead vocalist material and pretty. But I don't see them being popular in Japan after having only 3 Japanese members. No bilingual girl making it is a blasphemy. Chowon was one of my absolute favorites, but I wasn't sad that she didn't make it. She is still young and super talented and if Cube does its job right, she might have a better future than most of the girls in top 12 ala Soyeon. But Lee Gaeun...going back in Pledis' basement after she was a lock in this competition. So sad!
  10. This is seriously shit. I like the girls, but Yena and Yuri going up this much...Gaeun and/or Chaeyeon not making it after being consistent with rankings all season long, especially Gaeun. Miyu and Miho dropping this much. WHAT?
