    can someone reccommend

    Depends on what you want to listen to.

    Elegant and a bit sexy songs:

     Highlight - you will like this one if you like Violeta, it's similar but a shade darker

    Ayayaya - search for the concert fancam, it's one of their best stages.

    O Sole Mio - a sexy, but sad song with good vocals

     Sequence - retro with a hint of sexy, great stage

    Cute bops:

    Up - Cute and uplifting and they turned it into a ballad.

    Roccoco - Summery and catchy.

    Eyes - A cute song with a twist.

    Pretty - Lifts up my mood instantly.

    Ballad:

    Someday - highly recommend this one. The vocal line slayed.

    Really like You - Best whole group ballad.

    You and I - I felt that one.

    Memory - Beginning IZONE Ballad.

    Songs with a calm and relaxing vibe:

    I want to be a cat - One of my faves in general. The vibe of this is just perfect.

    Dream-like - Ocean view, baby!!

    Open your eyes - Highly rated in the fandom, great instrumental.

    Suki to Iwashitai - In case you didn't check this Japanese title track.

    IZ*ONE has a great dicography and it's more complex than you'd believe at first.

  2. r/kpop is good for news and for having civil conversations about kpop. The mods are doing a good job. It's very helpful and there are very little fanwars around, so it makes my time as a kpop fan much easier.

    r/kpopthoughts is a wholesome subreddit. Most posts are about people praising their faves, but they often times have good points. It's nice to see apprecietive posts about idols you don't know that well or find out new interesting things about the idols you do. It helped me look at some idols in new light.

    r/kpopunpopularopinions...I am not subscribed to it, I just visit it once in a while hoping to find some relevant tea. But it's widely unoriginal and actually not that populated. There are some good posts here and there but that's it.

    As for non kpop reddits:

    r/wholesomememes Not all posts are good or original, but there is a lot of uplifting stuff in there and I found myself saving plenty of wholesome memes in my phone because I want to look at them again. I've tried to make my feed drama free and positive and this is perfect for it. Very similar themed subreddits are r/HumansBeingBros and r/MadeMeSmile.

    r/aww for cute animals.

    r/LifeProTip People sharing life tips. Some are not that useful, but it's interesting to hear about them and see what people say about them and people experinces about them.

    r/tennis and r/figureskating because they are sports I am interested in.

    r/AskReddit is exteremely interesting, so interesting that you'd lose hours on that subreddit. I unsubscribed to it because I was wasting too much time on it.

  3. Although Produce48 was an advantage for them to get initial popularity, I think that, nowadays, having their Produce48 tag drags them down rather than help them and I am not only talking about the manipulation scandal.

    So many people avoid giving them a chance because they are a temporary group or are bitter at MNET. And I feel sorry such things bring the group down because objectively, the group is so good. It's a very well rounded group: they are one of the most visually appealing girl groups out there, they have very eye-catching choreographies and they have a bright and youthful energy on stage, their dance line is very strong and their vocal line is solid, they have a lot of bops and their styling is on point. There are quite a few girls out there who have a lot of star potential.

    I wish there were more people to give a chance for these girls. But as a fan, I am thankful for all the material they put out and all the support they received so far. I will remember them fondly.

    I'mma link some of my favorite songs from them:

  4. Because Taeyeon and IU:

    - have more musical freedom vs most girl groups who don't have a say in anything they do;

    - are well-known celebrities who afford taking risks with thier music if they want to vs girl groups who build an image and lose public when they change it;

    - are older than most girl groups nowadays and had a long journey in the public eyes, so people relate better to their songs because they know them better and their life experience better vs 17 years olds who are barely known to the public, I mean, what would you expect a 17 year old to sing about? Like, sure, there are a lot of talented teens wise beyond their age, but you would rather expect them sing something bubbly or cool for their age.

    But it doesn't mean there aren't meaningful songs among girl group songs though. Meaningful doesn't always mean a ballad, or something super deep and depresing. It simply means something heartfelt.

    For example:

    IZ*ONE - Fiesta and Panorama

    They are upbeat, electronic, but the meaning behind them is great. Fiesta is about growing and gaining confidece. Panorama is a song about IZ*ONE cherishing every moment with their fans.

    Loona - Star

    It's a mature song about genuinely falling in love with someone.

    Gfriend - Mago

    It's a song about self love and not caring when people are judging you.

    Twice - Feel Special

    A song dedicated to people who stand by us in our darkest times.

    Like, sure, most girl group are mindless pop, but there is nothing wrong with that. We all need good dancy and positive vibes in our daily lifes, not everything has to be that deep.

    nice coincidence hopefully. i was also one of the people who noticed she had all the qualities of a perfect idol during produce 48 too glad to see she is on her way to bigger things. when izone does disband what do you want her to do? solo? group?

    I don't want her to get added to Rocket Punch. I don't see Chaewon doing the kind of concepts they are doing. I think it would be a good idea to add Chaewon and Eunbi if the company is willing to do some concept and sound changes for Rocket Punch.

    Solo career sounds ideal, but it's a bit risky.

    For a start, I'd like a Chaewon and Eunbi duo. They can go for a more mature and elegant concept together. They are both beautiful and well rounded girls and I don't think they'd be lacking anything when together. Imagine something of the likes of Irene and Seulgi, they'd rock it! They just need some good management.

  6. What a coincidence! I had just watched her fancam before coming here. I was surprised to read the title.

    I am proud to be one of the few people who noticed Chaewon's potential and rooted for her since her Produce 48 days. She was a bit shy back then, but she was one of the prettiest and most well rounded girls out there and I have never doubted that she deserves to be in the group.

    She had always sang well and had these sweet and pleasant vocals. Her dance and more especially, her on stage charisma improved a lot since debuting. Paired up with her energy and her beautiful visuals, she is a joy to watch these days.

    I hope she finds great success, especially after IZ*ONE disbands. She has the potential to get huge.

  7. Excessive make-up, especially on male idols.

    The fanwars. The fanwars nowadays sound like no issues, compared to what was back then.

    The autotune.

    Girl group members being forced into super sexualized concepts (sexy concepts like Sistar, Girls Day, AoA I miss tho)

  8. If they don't release anything for years, obviously I'll move on to other groups. But I would start to support them again if they ever decide to comeback. Like, I don't really unstan, I will keep my love and my support there.

    If they can have individual schedules and still keep the group together, at least on paper, with a chance to comeback, then it would be great. If keeping the group together means they aren't allowed to perform in other ways, I'd rather have them disband and find better suited companies.

    Ultimetly, I want my biases to be happy. If the singer is happy under their current company, then be it, if  they believe a solo career under a different company is better, then be it, if they want to quit celebrity life, then be it. I will support them in what they want to do.

  9. * Something to Wear - Black Suit (Super Junior)

    * Something to Drink - Blue Lemonade (Red Velvet)

    * A Place - UN Village (Baekhyun)

    * A Food - Ice Cream Cake (Red Velvet)

    * A Number - Number 9 (T-ara)

    * A Color - Blue (Taeyeon)

    * A Girl’s Name - Maria (Hwasa)

    * A Boy’s Name - Simon Says (NCT 127)

    * Profession - Soldier (Taemin)

    * Day of the Week - Sunday (Fantastics)

    * A Vehicle - Spaceship (Iz*one)

    * An Animal - Dolphin (Oh My Girl)
  10. Because of women like these, innocent men lose their career and real victims aren't believed when they come forwad. Why you gotta be like this? How can you sleep at night that you ruined someone for some cash?

    (EDIT) Judging by the comments below, there is more to the story than this. The article written here doesn't provide the whole information. It's really hard to take sides in such sensitive situations.

    My stance about women who only do this for money stays true, but let's see how this case turns out to be.

  11. They are both important in their own ways, but in the long run, fandom is the one who is going to keep the group aflood.

    When you get public recognition, you are doing great for a while, getting CFs and doing shows. It is more personally fulffliling too, knowing that many people listen and enjoy your songs and you are generally loved. But unless you somehow pull off an IU, trends are fickle, you can get replaced easily in such competitive times!

    A fandom is loyal. You might lose fans too, but a good fanbase is still there to keep you aflood. Even when you aren't the hottest thing (anymore), it's the fandom that is there to pay for your concert, merch, album and give you much needed support, even to support solo career.

    Also, I've noticed for a while that you can get popular from having a big fanbase too. Like EXO, BTS, Wannaone, their big fandom got them known to the public too. When your fanbase is big enough, you can get CFs and invited to shows too.

    So I'd rather choose fanbase.

  12. There are two types of pre-releases: actual pre-releases that come right before the comeback and 'pre-realeses' that are actually just singles, without being followed by a proper comeback.

    Actual pre-releases, I don't mind them that much. They can take away from the hype or not, depending how good the pre-realese is and how good the actual comeback song is. Generally, pre-releases are chill songs, opposed to dancey hard hitting tracks that are comeback songs. They don't really compete with each other.

    As for  'pre-realeses', I don't like them. One of my biggest joys when my faves comeback is to listen the b-sides, discuss with other people about what b-sides we like more, looking forward to what b-sides will be performed. But there it is...a pre-realese to an album that God knows where it will be actually released (I look at you BlackPink and Chungha). It takes away from the enjoyment for me.  I prefer 1-2 comebacks with solid albums than one album with 2-3 pre-releases.

  13. I understand the other members passiveness, more of less, and I understand Mina's disappointment too.

    I am glad that Hyejeong dared to speak up at least. She was, by far, the most likable in the group during Queendom and I am glad that my good feelings towards her weren't wrong.

    The one who disappoints me the most in this situation is Seolhyun (well, other than Jimin, obviously). She was Jimin's best friend, she was the one who could have had a serious talk with Jimin, if she cared enough about the situation. But keeping quiet and staying such good friends with her, it means she approved of her behaviour. No, we shouldn't be hold accountable for our friends mistakes, so I don't find this career breaking, but it does lower the image I had of Seulhyun.

  14. When I first got into Kpop, I didn't understand what Yoona's appeal was. She was pretty, but not on par with the popularity that she posses strictly for her visuals.

    But as time went by, I started to understand what makes Yoona so beautiful. Other than her looks, it's her overall aura. She looks so bright, youthful and natural in the way she carries herself! She fits glamurous styles and plain styles alike because she doesn't have a cold model-like beauty, even when wearing more extravagant styles, she still looks approachable and honest.
