I thought this was Caruso? He is singing in a range from A4 ~ D5, that's lowkey a female's range to be singing in, so he is at the top of his range and it'd be very surprising if he could have done well back then in this range, considering he was young and had just debuted. He is straining a lot, his throat is very tight and he is singing with a raised larynx the whole time.
