Welcome to the Infinite thread, you should post here more often. Everyone here is pretty nice although it has been pretty dead lately lol.
Yep, Myungsoo's taste in women is rather unfortunate . . . but yeah that's all I'm gonna say cause I don't even know what happened there.
Probably why I wouldn't fit in, lol. Though my forum demeanor is more directed at certain users/comments.
The unfortunate taste is shared by his younger brother, it seems. Since he's not a celebrity, I won't comment on him and his choices. I just know that Idols tend to date ulzzangs (and stylists), as it's more low key and has less risk due to the lack of fame. I wouldn't be surprised if this was even encouraged. It simply got messy due to all parties involved. Thankfully (or not?), Woollim and Do Yeon screwed up so bad they took the brunt of the anger from L and he was seen more as a victim than anything.
I also have this belief that Inspirits would have been cool with it if it wasn't denied and that it wasn't the girl in question. Am I the only one?
I think any female idol would consider it suicide to name the most popular member of any group as their ideal type, especially if that member is known for having rabid fans. I'm not surprised that female idols haven't talked about Myungsoo being their ideal type. You know there'd have to have been at least a couple.
And yes, I don't care if she's older, those two look so good together. Look how gorgeous she is

I expected better from Myungsoo too. He better choose wisely next time.
There probably has been. Female idols get a lot of flack in general. It's no surprise why they tend to aim for actors as ideal types.
And I know! Look how gorgeous they both are. If he wasn't dating at the time, I definitely think this would have been a possibility. Korean guys tend to not mind dating noonas. In fact, didn't INFINITE reveal their age limitations? I think L said he'll date someone younger than him by 2 years or so, and someone older than him by at least 5. I forgot where it was from.
I'm honestly concerned for him. All I can hope is that this was more of that relationship mistake we all have had that we rather not speak about or entertain. It's a lesson learned and it's better for him to get experience before he settles into a real relationship.
Progress is the fact that he finally changed his ideal type.
Helloo~
Yeah it was unfortunate that a pack of rabid fans scared her away, she seems like a more respectable woman.
I've said it before but I don't think there was any strong feelings between Myung and Doyeon.
It was more than likely lust and honestly myungsoo is basically a child. He reads romance mangas for goodness sake lool
He's in love with the idea of love and started his 1st (yes i believe that) relationship with the wrong person.
He was on tour during their 4 months together and that relationship broke up just like that when time was tough. He seems fine now too.
Maybe I'm overthinking this lmao
You're not over thinking at all.
I have a feeling you're right (before the scandal I've had a feeling he was dating, you just sort of knew...wasn't what I expected though, I'll tell you that much), and it's what I've suspected.
This isn't the first dating scandal an idol has had. There's been a bunch of them ever since 2013. Yet, the partners in the scandals never broke up just because they were found out. Granted, L's situation turned out rather messy due to how certain parties handled it, but if you wanted to really be someone, nothing would get in between those sorts of feelings. Maybe take it easy, but not drift away permanently. Probably try some damage control to get acceptance from fans. Though they seem to dislike that ulzzang, and I don't blame them. I wouldn't support it judging by the translations I've read from what she was barking on Twitter. She did confirm things, like that she didn't know the unnie that was "angry" over the picture of L and Han Bo Reum and that a saesang saw a picture of her and L on his KakaoTalk icon.
The rest left a lot to be desired though and it's why my impression of her is negative. She freaking even dared to highlight the fact that she was getting into acting (keep in mind that her decision to speak up coincided with her debut at the Blue Dragon Awards as well or when something good to INFINITE happened), was going off about her parents raising her and that they don't deserve this and that they, you know, did so much and had her go overseas for her education. Oh my, look at her accolades
. She also blamed the rumor spreading on everyone else except her.Anyway, we had L jump ship. I'm doubting the four months now since they pulled that with KhunFany recently (when everyone knows it's much longer), but the time of them dating was a real busy one for INFINITE. Man In Love, then didn't they go to Japan for like about a month? Then preparations for Destiny and OGS. Getting to know someone well let alone strengthening a bond will be hard. I think what they had was weak. And it didn't take much to end it. He didn't even bother standing up for her and chose to follow the advice he was more than likely given (a.k.a. stay shut). I had to go with dopamine in that they weren't serious. Maybe it was luck that it happened when it did before he got in too deep in my opinion.
I don't like babying Myungsoo or dumb-ing him down. He's idealistic in general (the statement about how he believes human nature is fundamentally good gives this assessment), but he's a lot more intuitive than fans give him credit for. This happens even to the best of people. Plus, he admitted back in debut time he dated someone in his first year of high school. Before he began playing the virgin bachelor, that is.

Myungsoo has been chosen a few times as the ideal type of gay male celebrities like Hong Seok Chun. I'm sure there are, or were, plenty of female idols as well. I suspect Hello Venus' Ara had a thing for him at some point. She was constantly voting for him on those Weekly Idol polls. Lol.
Thank goodness I am not the only one who raised an eyebrow at that. I suspect her and even Naeun sometimes (don't ask me why, just a feeling) to have crushed or are crushing over him. There's rumors that he's popular among female idols and they've approached him for numbers. Or so my Korean friend tells me, you know how that goes.
I don't think anyone will outright choose L as their ideal type. Maybe it's just me, but female idols usually don't get asked that as much as male idols. If they do get asked, they aim for non-idols usually. Unless it's a choice of pick him or him.
And pairs?

Too bad any chance has been squandered. The fans probably scared her off since they were the reason she took down the picture in the first place. Them and L himself with who he actually dated. Judging by his past, bashful squees of excitement/interest with girls like Krystal, Gyuri, and Inoue Mao, I would think his taste would be more around this line. But it turned out to be a basic Gangnam doll.
The disappointment still burns.
He could have been with this gorgeous (and likely more respectable) unnir.

I was looking over this compilation of
blackactresses who are able to sing. Any thoughts on this? And who did the best? I was personally impressed by Tichina Arnold, but you can never know. Tatyana Ali was possibly the worst. -
C'mon Krystal has been paired up with all 12 of them (i think or most).
Them and SHINee.
And yet half of them have something going on or are real, lmao.

that's dumb actually, I ship Yunho with Changmin because of their bond. I am starting to ship Changmin with Kyu because of their friendship, I like YunBoa couple.
If I tried to make my ship real it means Yunho will be bi and Changmin will be gay, well I'm very sure Changmin likes ladies.. a lot... LOL
anyhow, it doesn't really matter to me the sexual preference in real life I like them for who they are, and that's none of my business, it's not like I'm going to marry them
and they deserve their privacy too. I've dealt with too much "it's real!" shipping. I just...I can't, lol. Like, why are you so obsessed with a real person's love life? These aren't characters from video games, cartoons, anime, or fictional portrayal of characters. They are people. This is why fanfics also creep me out.
That's more of my view actually. Their sexuality isn't anyone's business and it's best to accept things as they are instead of taking every little thing and attaching some analysis or theory about it -_-.
-
you meant "which idol do you think gay" ?
I visited them once to ask why they think Yunho is gay and apparently they were so sure because of damn shipping couple Yunjae, and perhaps their believe grow over the year because of delusional fanfic.
which is sad since the couple thing the probably believe is from photoshopped pics mostly.
I left because there's no point arguing with delusional people who need reality check because if Yunjae was real and they are gay, it means HoMin is more than real lol
edit:
not to mention that Yunho has said he likes women, not men.
and to believe things they want to believe instead of what those people actually said is kind of crazy.
I don't know if it's just me but the discussion in the gay thread gives me a headache sometimes. Especially when it's always the same few people posting and they can get so rude about things, not knowing how retarded they appear.
One moment they think SM is anti-gays and wants Key to appeal to fangirls' fantasy by appearing on WGM, another moment they think D.O is specifically instructed to act gay because "SM wants to tap into all demographics". And giving D.O rude names like gay bait yet always complaining about how mean people are to gays. Seriously?!
Also Hanyrufan need to stop acting like he owns that thread.
I'm talking about the "which idols are gay/lesbian" threads and people often trot out psychological analyses and etc to try and "prove" they can tell who is gay and who isn't, that's what I'm referring to
obviously I don't care if people are just wondering aloud, like "I often wonder if so and so is gay because.... but who knows" or whatever, but it's the "so and so is definitely gay and you're an idiot if you don't think so because of my analysis here" and "so and so is definitely straight because he's too masculine to be gay" and etc that gets on my nerves. people don't know shit
I can assure you that shipping is involved in some way.
Shipping is always involved, lol.
Shipping has always involved making the ship as "real as possible", and they'll take anything to fit what they want the truth to be. It doesn't even matter the gender or if they date/have dated/are dating. They'll just throw a conspiracy theory to it.
I don't get the idol gay thread. Is it supposed to be a safe haven for those whose delusions need to be fed (no rejection there to deal with) and not told otherwise because they don't want their fantasies crushed or an actual discussion of whether said idol is gay or not? Because a discussion of something requires an actual talk that isn't one-sided and biased. And if it isn't one sided, that there's no offense taken for others making points about why said idol is not gay. How are you supposed to be 100% sure they are if there's no opposition to assure that the argument is sound? It's not 100% certainty then. I don't know, what is its actual purpose?

it's even more noticeable when dongwoo and hoya appeared next to him, especially hoya. hoya gave him all and danced fluidly while L dance awkwardly with poker face haha.
first of all, having good/ complicated choreo is totally different than being a good dancer. so, i honestly cant see why being a good dancer relates to having complicated footwork. you're talking about choreographers then. there are a lot of great dancers who cant choreograph and there are just decent dancers who can choreograph (have better creativity than others, ex : lee seunghoon, im not saying he's not good but there are better dancers than him for sure)so being able to choreograph intense routines isnt the same with being a good dancer.
same goes to great dancers who cant teach but there are decent dancers teaching better than them.
ex : shaun evaristo, as far i remember, he doesnt really choreograph really intense dances nor do complicated footwork, yet he's one of the best dancers i've ever seen when it comes to fluidity and smoothness.

How does he do in these? I figured after a while that I shouldn't have placed a performance just after their World Tour for an example, though I forgot. He seems to be more rested here and is putting a bit more effort from what I can see. Sorry if it's too much. I'm just trying to note the differences and learn from it better than I do now. Take your time and watch it when you can/want, it's not a problem.
On the other hand, thank you for the explanation. I was reading/dealing with someone who claimed to be a "dancer" (or "expert") saying that because a certain crew, let's say, had more complicated footwork meant they were better dancers. I had a feeling there was something off, but since I'm not experienced myself I couldn't really validate my view on it.

I honestly don't know how it's going to work, so I'm curious.
They can't add any romantic aspect, or at least not heavily so. Fangirls and fanboys will freak the hell out. Which is a damn shame. This in turn makes the idols cautious in general and so their interactions wouldn't be as comfortable as it should be. Unless there's scripting involve. But that's the plague that really makes shows like this lame.
It'll be really nice if for once, we'd have something that's raw. Get idols in there and leave them to their own devices. No managers, no script (unless it's a scenario or objectives, but no telling them what to do or say).

Based on the video, L's biggest issue is he didnt feel the dance at that time. he danced because he had to dance and not because he wanted to dance. his expressions were awkward too. his moves were messy most of time. he was also stiff. it's really obvious. he was off beat sometimes. but, at least he tried.
no, not really. what's so good bout complicated footwork when you cant pull it off and people dont know what the hell you're doing? if it's not clean, then it's not clean. one thing for sure when you want to do a choreo, make sure to clean your moves, even though you're stiff, but at least people can see the moves clearly and understand what you're doing.
im more fond of combination of footwork and handwork. it's surely more complicated when your hands and your feet have to move at the same time. i think more combination of our body parts can lead to more intricate choreo.
Dances as good as his mood allows indeed. I figured, lol. I still wanted to see how he did there, cause I kind of liked it personally. But I barely can tell what one did wrong or one did right. Especially since both Dongwoo and Hoya appeared next to him at times and I can't tell much about gaps between members in dancing.
And I see on the footwork. So, let's say, a dancer shows complicated footwork and is actually good at it, would he/she be better than another dancer who's about or are the same level but doesn't have complicated footwork? (not that they can't or can, but they don't use it as much, if at all, in their choreo)

Just a lurker here wondering about how L does here in this fancam. I feel he dances as well as his mood allows. He's not a main dancer or anything, but I'm curious on an analysis and rating.
Also, I have question about footwork. If a group shows more complicated footwork in a choreography, does that mean they are better at dancing than others? Does a group need to have footwork to show if they can pull off difficulty?

I believe the INFINITE vocal line goes like: Woohyun > Sunggyu > L > the rest.
One of the users that frequents the Vocal Thread and answers inquiries posted it as such in another topic. And judging by ear alone, I most definitely agree. L was never bad actually, but his speedy progress is rather impressive. I also read all of INFINITE with the exception of Woohyun are nasal.
L was simply a bit careless. I'm not sure if this is his first relationship since debut, but he didn't go out of his way to make it so obvious. I agree that whatever they had was immature, that's why it was going to crash eventually, scandal or not. In my opinion at least. You just expect the ulzzang to be more sensible about it since she's the 87liner. I expect age to reflect actions.
And I said that because it seems that a lot of the backlash was due to how they handled the issue rather than the fact that he was dating. Both saesangs and fansite masters knew about it at any rate. It also wasn't a loss to L or INFINITE. I'm sure a few of his fans fell off, but he wasn't affected at all, popularity wise. It's like nothing happened to be honest. I don't know whether it was because he broke up with her (therefore he's "up for grabs" again, making it easier to jump back on oppar is mine), genuinely apologized, or was seen as the victim. Maybe all three. The fact that he came out almost unscathed make me believe Inspirits would be more accepting in some form.
