  1. If possible, can anyone do a quick overview with a numbered rank about their performance here? I'm not expecting paragraphs (seven members after all), just a sort of idea where they are at right now cause I'm just a curious kitten. Thought this would be fairer than their title song cause they are seating.

    Just let me know [pout].

  2. Idk for clubs bec I never go to clubs lol maybe at shop or place like hongdae, dongdaemun, etc.

They gone for IC and actually the eye mv is played on last episode IC, you know when a program is end they always play mv

Playing the song should bring attention. I hope it's being played.

I don't even remember. They need to go to IC this year, it's been so long then.

  3. L should have done his KOMS stint during promotions, even though he's jam packed as is. He got astounding reception and introduced himself under INFINITE. It may have sparked interest in searching them at the moment and check the song.

KOMS is scary. It can damage your rep as a singer if done wrong.

They were and sunggyu individually went too

When? If you can provide some link to see it, possibly.

I may be getting mixed up.

  4. Has INFINITE ever been played in clubs in SK? Like literally all their songs can be used in clubs, so I'm wondering. It's a good way to get exposed.

INFINITE has never, ever been on Infinity Challenge that I remember o.o. I wonder why they don't go or haven't been invited. I guess they only care for certain groups.

And also, it seems that a lot people like The Eye. My friend constantly sang The Eye even though I didn't say or sing anything. She suddenly sang "kkeutnaji mothan ibyeol dwi ibyeol gwa ibyeol". I meant.. she even knew the lyric. I hope at least it stay there and didn't drop.

    What country are you in?

All this. I mean. I only like Overdose of the entirety of Exo's discography, but do I haunt their threads telling their fans they should make more songs like that or I won't deign to like them? NOPEDY. They're not my thing so I don't hang around them. End of.

About the video... the lead vocals sang most of all, the dancers danced way up front, and the visual was the acting heart of the video, while the maknae and supporter had smaller parts. This video was Infinite's very explicit band dynamics, by the book. I don't know what people are surprised about. I am very fond of Sungyeol but if you prefer to live in an AU fanfiction in which he is the lead dancer-singer-visual write it and publish it on AO3, don't drag the band you supposedly stan in the COMMENT SECTION OF THEIR OWN VIDEO FOR OTHER FANDOMS TO SEE.

A house divided against itself can't stand, and with the first comeback in more than a year we gotta be united.

ETA: P.S. Just today I was watching Dw's subbed live and he said it's not worth being angry because everything passes. Of course there are no annoyed gifs of him <3

Just because it's INFINITE's band dynamic, doesn't mean it's the right dynamic. I'm not supposed to look back on them in the year 2010-2011, only to see that nothing has changed in 2016.

    :donthinkso:

This comeback's line distribution is godawful when they've been moving from the status quo for the last 4-5 comebacks before it. L has improved, is [arguably] the third best singer, and is more stable live than both rappers (the showcase confirmed it's still the case to me, though Hoya got better), so the fact that he's at bottom three for a title is just odd at this point. I'm fine with what he's gotten for The Eye due to the rest of the album highlighting his vocals, that Dongwoo got to shine more (cause he's a part of the members who get the short end of the stick and gets overshadowed by Hoya), and because he was lead in the MV. L has been getting good lines in past comebacks too. There's not much to complain about for him. I just wished he kept his after chorus line. Sunggyu still getting the majority bulk of the lines may have made sense in the past, but now when you have Woohyun (the other main vocal who does not get the same amount), L, and even the rapper line after to pick up the slack, it's ridiculous at the amount he gets on every single title track. Through no fault of his own, but it's still a fault of the producers and/or company. There's no justification for it at all. INFINITE are not the same INFINITE when they debuted and the members have made progress. What's the point of Sungjong working to improve if he still gets 5% of a song? Might as well just sit tight and not care.

Sungyeol is complicated in that his stans want him to get more lines, but he still isn't good. Sungjong has surpassed him ages ago. And that's fine, not everybody is meant to be a singer. Perhaps he should focus on lower notes. But I guess having L now act for the MV was like a double whammy (at the same time, Sungyeol isn't really the best actor out of the group anymore either and is much on par with everybody else). To add insult to injury, Sungyeol didn't appear much in the MV itself. Why is he in this comeback at all?

I get how his fans must feel. Just like how I comprehend how Woohyun fans must have felt (and they've learned from it, because I have not heard a single peep from them, maybe they just accepted the defeat that Sunggyu will just always have more lines).

It's the attack on the members themselves that's the issue. It's frankly, very difficult to sympathize with that. Like that one Twitter user who stated L just can't act and that he can't even act dying properly in the MV when everyone else had the exact opposite impression, and did so in such a delusional, salty, insulting, pathetic way. The point was that he didn't even die. Or how in the Bashing thread someone declared when will L stop being "shoved down our throats", and I'm just like...huh. Aside from BTD, when has L been truly a lead in a group MV?

Nonetheless, I find how some (non-bitter, non-asshole) fans are upset a legit way to feel with this comeback tbh. I don't see them complaining a problem. They are free to express disappointment. That disappointment, in this case, is justified.

  6. yeah i agree. L deserved more lines tbh, he is technically the lead vocal, but gets less lines than dongwoo and hoya (but I'm super happy they got a lot of lines but also sad L didn't get much) ahh this is all just so confusing! and the pie chart is just sad.

Dongwoo barely gets any singing lines, Hoya's way prioritized over him, so I don't mind sacrificing Myung in that sense (except that last line in the chorus, you could have continued sparing that for him, Rphabet). Rphabet obviously likes Hoya, and nothing's changed with Sunggyu at all in terms of distribution. He'll always get the major bulk in titles a lot more consistently than any other member. It's just accepting it at this point.

I really honestly think we should not focus on line distribution at this point and make an issue where there should be none ^^

There isn't so far. Not that I have seen. I'm just kinda confused, I don't remember someone doing a line distribution chart so fast in the past.

  7. SO FAR AWAY!!

but ok I'm very disappointed in woolim! i just saw the video on line distribution, and idk they should have made it a little bit fairer. I love sunggyu and his voice and everything. I get why he is the main vocal, but woohyun and sunggyu should have been, idk more equal i guess. and the amount of lines sungyeol, L, and songjong got is just sad! they have constantly been proving they can sing better, but woolim is not giving them the chance for their title tracks. Idk i think infinite is at that stage where they should have pretty equal amount of lines with of course the better singers getting a few seconds more.

I thought it was fine though.

My only complaint is that they changed L singing the last line with Sunggyu in the second go of the chorus. Like he already took a large bulk of it, why change it at all?

    :wut:

I also tend to prefer L's way of singing it too (I think it happened in Bad as well?), so it becomes more of a disappointment than it usually would be without bias.

All this, plus a thing I wanted to add about L's singing from a technical standpoint.

I feel like very often he gets done no favours by the composers. Very very often I hear him being assigned notes which sound like they are at the very upper limit of his vocal range. Take for example his high note in Between me and you: sometimes he hits it, sometimes he does not, but the effects he does on his voice to actually achieve it sound to me like he's forcing his voice at the very upper limit of it. You can't really change vocal range. If you are an extremely skilled singer you can stretch it a bit, but your voice sounds very different and people can tell (it's why for example, while Hoya can technically sing All of me, his voice sounds so very different and thin doing it, or why when Sungkyu attempts a scream nowadays, his voice gets deeper and throaty - in very simple layman's terms they are making their voice resonate in their throat/nose to make it deeper/higher).

I feel like if a person has a certain range and they are working on it (which I think L has done, and he has improved very much at) then to ask them to also go beyond it on the regular is quite a tall order and not really called for. Listening to Infinite perform, everyone else gets given parts in their own range, why can't L? I feel like in K-pop there is this prejudice which you are a really "good" singer if you have a really high voice and can hit what are perceived to be spectacular notes, and that's about as dumb as can be - Anastacia, one of the technically best Western singers, has a very low and deep voice, but she had good composers who wrote for it and the effects she achieved were spectacular. I feel like sometimes in Infinite they'll write for Woohyun and Sungkyu's range and then expect L to tag along. Not really fair. (It should be painfully self evident to all that this is in no way a criticism of Woohyun or Sungkyu. Indeed, I often think Woohyun could sing a wider and deeper scale than he gets given.)

And as for acting, I get very mad because they typecast L all the time. Aside from his very first drama they always cast him as this pretty boy whose prettiness is remarked upon by all but doesn't do much beside. It drives me insane. I think his acting has improved but also that you can't stretch beyond a certain limit if you don't get roles like that. It's a problem very handsome actors often have Jude Law said in an interview that the best thing that happened to his career was that he got older and people stopped wanting him to be just the romantic lead.

I don't think we even know the limits of his range yet. He's a Tenor after all. He's improved by miles, but he still has technical flaws that prevents him from reaching a high note that goes beyond what he can do for now. But I think that's what's gotten him to improve as far as he has. If he keeps playing it safe, there's no knowing if you have to be stuck where you are or have potential to do more. At the moment, he just has to strengthen the notes he can hit, and once he does, he can move onward to hitting more higher ones and working on that. It's a process.

For example, INFINITE's In The Summer.

I don't know WHAT genius came up with giving L that high note at the current time, but they did. It was...well. Anyway, the point here is that you can hear now when they sing it how much better he hits it.

  9. I am so bitter about the new Lovelyz badge.

I always have Infinite and Lovelyz badges displayed but when

eImceEG.png somehow won over SDrEdPt.png I just knew I will have to hide it.

The entire fandom should bash themselves for choosing any of the above over this one tumblr_o8cxgwrFNV1u4g0clo4_100.png.

Enlargement of the words and some lighting is all it would have taken and the group would have had one of the more beautiful badges this season.

Thankfully, it's not my problem, but, lmao.

  10. Ugh. Not again. Every. Single. Goddamn. Year.

It's that time of the year again. Hate on Infinite time.  :._.:

    What? The digital post?

They're just stating the truth. Inspirits suck at doing the best digitally or they don't have enough numbers. But they still tend to do pretty well and I find people are exaggerating. They need to feel better about their faves by bringing other groups down because less competition, but I'm so used to it from insecure, shitty K-Pop fans that at this point I scroll down and ignore the complete immature stupidity. It's best to do that instead of tiring one's self out defending.

  11. inspirits have never been that voracious with charts and voting to begin with, though.

Voting, yes. But who are you applying the charts to? Because we know what happens when k-fans try. They are just not trying. And it's a damn shame they don't care tbh. How will INFINITE ever prosper in the future like this, I don't know.
