Getting a kindle was the best thing to happen in my life. I've got the paperwhite and would recommend it. I've looked at the latest model and the only improvement I see is that it has pressure pads on each side, so instead of hitting the page, you can just touch the kindle a little harder to change pages. That's not really that big of an improvement though since touching the screen isn't hard work either. Also the new model is a lot thinner, and thinner =/= better.
If you do get a kindle, here are some neat sites to check out.
https://encyclopediadramatica.es/Bookz
(Whole bunch of books you can get free on the internet, and actual good and popular books not the free shit you get from amazon)
http://calibre-ebook.com/
(Manages all of the books you have and keeps them in a cute virtual library, also lets you convert file types so if you prefer reading in .pdf or .mobi or something else, you can always convert.
Also OP, if you could include these two links in the OP, that'd be swell and very helpful for new readers :p
