  1. Jimin looked absolutely scrumptious at the press conference. I love that his hair colour situation keeps evolving from one outing and event to the next. Today's combo of his bleached hair, dark roots and candy colour tint just inexplicably works really really well, for me anyway. It's like punk but classy.
  2. As expected Jimin killed both the mv and song. He really has a talent of turning every moment on screen into a Momentâ„¢. His dancing was on point throughout of course but especially the beginning of the song was just enchanting. Made me forget he was doing it all in pink pyjamas. Fans on twitter have taken on calling him the Frontman of bts after a couple of articles but I suppose the sentiment might not be appreciated by all
  3. idk I don't really get the preoccupation with his hair. it's just hair, it'll grow again. I've been digging his pastel phase, starting from the blue in... Berlin? until now. Every shade has been prettier than the last but my faves have been blue-is-the-warmest-colour blue, slythering purple and kitty gang pink. the hair is already damaged, dying it black isn't going to bring it alive. he'd have to shave it off and start again. Ooooh, that could be a look tho. This was shared yesterday: Click here to view the Tweet I know I wasn't the only one touched by Jimin's words to himself in that interview. Gentle, like they said. I remember someone mentioning that in a way it was Jimin who started and ended the LY era with Serendipity and Promise, from 'Let me love you' to 'I want you to be your light'. It really feels like he lived and embodied the message of Love Yourself most perfectly, not because it was so obvious and easy for him but because it was hard and because he had to work on it. Someone said that Jimin is the Jimin in Jimin's life and I kinda wanted to cry.
  4. Seems Jimin is really feeling it at these concerts. Twitter is abound fancams of him working his magic on the crowds. I really recommend taking a look. Both days. Just some examples: Click here to view the Tweet Click here to view the Tweet The stage really is his healing place. He's glowing.
  5. It feels like every day he's being mentioned on different shows: Click here to view the Tweet Click here to view the Tweet Click here to view the Tweet Click here to view the Tweet SK is missing the nation's idol.
  6. I guess I'm kinda bucking the trend here but I'm not really in a hurry to have Jimin take on a lot of high exposure activities right now. He's.... already on top. Just by being a regular boy group member with no special solo actives or push from his company. Just by keeping his head down and doing his work well. Of course at some point this explosive level of interest is gonna plateau but it's not like he's gonna fall of a cliff in a month to never to be heard again. He can launch his solo career then and regain that interest by doing what he does best i.e. performing. I know I'm oversimplifying here but I do fear over-exposure. Usually celebrities do TV, magazines, etc. because they need to promote themselves/their projects but at the moment, he doesn't doesn't need the exposure nor does he really have anything to promote. Variety is also a double-edged sword. It's easy to get caught in a controversy or even fall victim of malicious editing. At this moment BTS members / BH have an enviably high level of control over their public images (although them habitually selling it out for all the toys and merch in the world is kinda meh). The only thing I do wonder about however is that there must so much demand for having him do solo CFs and endorsement deals but BH obviously is not allowing those. Doing a bunch of ads does risk the the overexposure problem but that is a huge pile of $$ he is not getting right now that his brand is hot. At least in SM's contracts the talent would get a bigger portion of the income when doing endorsements than they would in selling their music for instance which was literal pennies on the song. Money isn't everything but I do hope that the decision to not have him do commercials is his and not BH's. Love it all, the photos the edits the art. To my utter amazement sexy kitty gang fairy rockstar is absolutely my aesthetic.
  7. I just wanted to make sure it was clear I wasn't scoffing at the article or definitely not at you mentioning it here. I'm hoping I didn't came across too dismissive or something. I was just amused at the laziness of the 24/7 social media clickbait reporters that can take a crack thread on a declining Kpop forum and turn it into at least 3 online articles (after my comment I did see a Naver article about it as well lol) that must have garnered at least tens of thousands of clicks in aggregate by now.
  8. On a more positive note, seems bts will be appearing at the Grammy's. To present an award I think. Also, on a more personal note I'm absolutely loving all the Kitty Gang Jimin fan art popping up these days. Click here to view the Tweet Click here to view the Tweet The aesthetics. Jimin is a muse.
  9. It's been amusing seeing this go around. Wasn't the link to the original OH thread shared on here? Then they repeated it on Koreaboo a few days later and now this. Not sure if there's a Korean version of it but sometimes they do write up stuff that is circling on twitter. It's a bit obnoxious but also goes to show the click-bait power of his name. Any silly thing is worth publishing. -- ETA: Not that highlighting his facial expressions is silly of course, he is the master.
  10. Oh my. Such a flattering article: Click here to view the Tweet Text in spoiler: Apparently ranked 1st for likes and comments on Naver.
  11. Hard to say since in the time frame for his personal ascend to it boy status they've had their popularity skyrocket as a group as well. Is he aware of how popular he is as an individual or is it still all wrapped into the whirlwind of general BTS success? They seemed to struggle with the sudden success (as they've admitted since) after the AMAs and in early 2018 but Jimin seems to be really at ease right now, despite all the attention on him. I can't imagine offers of all sorts not rolling in. I saw a funny tweet I can't find now about how Korean magazines seem to be trying to feature him on their pages and social media accounts, even if he hasn't done any interviews or photoshoots with them. Not to mention musically, as a group or as individuals, I'm sure everyone is wanting a piece. Why none of that is coming to fruition is anyone's guess. I'm still just enjoying the ride and waiting for the current contracts to run out. Some fans seem to think they already re-signed with BH, some seem more doubtful but either way, the terms will be different. I can't imagine Jimin's original contract having been terribly advantageous considering his precarious situation at their debut, but by now he must have a lot more leverage for negations. It will be interesting to see how his career starts taking shape in the new situation. __ *gasp* I just realised, after LY: Answer was released I said here on the thread that it was too bad we didn't get a new solo song from him in 2018 but in the end we did! He delivered glorious solo songs in 2016, 2017 and 2018! Looking forward to his 2019 material...
  12. Did you check the video link in the reply to the tweet? The guy is explaining it in Korean but he uses examples that demonstrate what he means by rhythm. I'm assuming that the natural rhythm of Korean is probably not that similar to English so Jimin being able to adapt like that is noteworthy enough.
  13. His look tonight? Amazing. Talking about the Idol stage in particular. Click here to view the Tweet Click here to view the Tweet I liked the Kitty biker look too...
  14. Talking about dance analysis, I'm sure their tweets have already been shared here but JiminUncut on twitter has many good threads on the subject. Newest one on Serendipity: Click here to view the Tweet Welcome to the thread!
  15. These were interesting points. Also, shouldn't be forgotten the probably mostly unintended yet utterly perfect timing of the release considering it was just a few weeks ago that Twitter came out with their yearly rankings naming Jimin as one of the most talked-about individual all over the world, including the US. If you work in media and entertainment, even if you aren't personally interested in BTS or their music, you can't blow off influence like that. And then with the release of the song it became a self-feeding circle of interest, enthusiasm and clicks. That is not to say it's insincere, imo. The mood of the reporting could have easily tipped over to a more mocking tone if the song didn't stand up to scrutiny - you know the way pop music by boy bands usually is covered. I saw quite a few verified music journalists tweet about the song on their own accounts, seemingly a bit taken aback with how nice it actually was. So phew, good job Jimin! Also, he looked really good at the GDAs tonight. What a triumph. Click here to view the Tweet
  16. The amount of media interest Jimin's song - a short, free Soundcloud track has garnered has been fascinating to follow. At some point k-media reported that over 60 media, celebrity & corporate accounts had tweeted about it, and now with this record-breaking news it seems even more are jumping on the band-wagon. One can speculate what could have been achieved if it was available on more platforms but perhaps it's for the best. At least Jimin should know by now that the anticipation for his music is high.
  17. I’m glad to read ppl feel like his singing technique has become healthier. I know a lot of kpoppers don’t give a shit about technique but with the schedules these idols keep and with some of the notes Jimin has to keep hitting, I really do worry sometimes about long-term damage. I know he keeps working hard on it and I’m glad to hear it’s bearing fruit. Not sure if any of it has been shared here but I’ve seen a lot of ppl notice how he switched up his singing style for the last part of the song. It reminded me about how when I first noticed Jimin I didn’t actually think I’d care for his singing all that much since it’s not really my usual style. It was only when I was listening to Sea that I really had to take a moment and realise how much I actually did like it. I’m sure all of you know the song and know there isn’t actually much singing in it. The four vocalists just repeat the same two lines throughout the song so it’s a bit amusing that that was my Eureka moment. But I was so impressed with how much Jimin could do with so little room. The first time Jimin hits that refrain it’s so pure and sweet, like falling asleep in a sea of warm glitter or something. But then in the second chorus it’s different. His voice is almost like vibrating with this coiled tension, it’s so… tight. Which of course leads perfectly to the release of the tempo that soon follows. I was like whoa. Sea is still one of my fave BTS songs, in part because of those two lines of Jimin’s. These thoughts came back with the release of Promise. I remember wondering back then with Sea if he himself was coming up with the different vocalisations or if the song producers were coaxing it out of him. Either way, he had my respect because it wouldn’t be so easy to just execute everything on the spot. But now I’m thinking it was probably at least partly Jimin’s doing too. I think it might be the fact that he is a dancer first and foremost, and as far as I know mostly self-taught in terms of his singing. I think he approaches his singing like he does dance: presentation is everything, how it sounds, how well he can narrate the story of the song in terms of emotional cues is everything. I remember someone analysing his dance saying that you can tell he has considered and practiced certain moves and angles to perfection so he knows he can hit them for the best possible emotional effect. V too once said that the bits we think come just naturally to Jimin, he actually practices them a lot. I kinda think he works the same with his vocal expression. He’s not just relying on a natural outward expression of internal emotions but actually very boldly uses different vocal techniques, fry, breath, different placement and thickness to hit those emotional cues for maximum effect. I don’t know if I’m explaining well what I mean but I’ll just say I really dig it.
  18. Such a lovely song. He really has that ear for melodies. I can't Korean but I'm sure the lyrics are very well written too. Not sure if it was already shared here but SlowRabbit said on insta that Jimin has been writing and re-writing them since April. I'm really appreciative that he released his song in 2018 when he had promised he would. I'm sure it was kinda scary but when push comes to shove, he's fearless. The year has ended on such a happy note for him. I'm so glad.
  19. We're both just speculating here so your guess is as good as mine, of course. But somehow, imo, the thought that he would ink a big-ass 'nevermind' on his ribs to commemorate a past Bangtan era would seem a bit... bizarre? Like, if he wanted to remember hyyh why not tattoo the hyyh symbols? I hadn't even thought about it being part of the storyline though. Can't say how likely that would be but the sentiment would suite Jimin's BU character too. But either way I'm not really expecting to get an official explanation about it.
  20. I was fairly convinced the tattoo was for a special stage, mainly the MAMA 10 year anniversary. His 2014 appearance was so heavily used to market the upcoming awards, it all seemed like too perfect a coincidence. But well MAMA came and went, and nothing. I'm not saying it's definitely real now but I'm starting to consider it might be permanent. Which makes me wonder about the meaning behind it. It's obviously a replica of the 2014 tat but maybe? probably? it wouldn't be just about that. The obvious other reference would be Suga's intro song, right? I was reading the lyrics and well, I do wonder if it's a reflection of his state of mind towards the second half of the year. The song's kinda rough and raw, isn't it. Cathartic. Hopeful maybe but definitely defiant. Worth reading the whole thing but just from the 1st verse: I want to ask the several people who prayed for me to screw up Does it seem like my home is going broke, you bastards? Like ok, damn. But to be fair, the main refrain seems to be thins: If you feel like you’re going to crash then accelerate more, you idiot But all this is heavy on speculation, so don't take it too seriously. I really liked reading Jimin said that in the season's greeting. Do think about and invest in yourself, babe. You're doing great.
  21. Wait what why? Because it's Jimin v. e*o? I thought it was just a bit amusing... -- Re: Stan twitter situation. Putting it under spoiler because I don't wanna bring the mood down. Feel free to skip if such talk makes you anxious, it's nothing important anyway
  22. With all the accomplishments and accolades listed like that, he really has had a most amazing year. All of BTS did, of course. Here's hoping the Golden Pig year will be even better more fruitful, with less of the unpleasant parts though. Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating and Happy New Year to all! Also, at last:
  23. I think you've misunderstood the nature of the conversation (or then did I?) but I thought op was just wondering whether Jimin's stans were even attracted to him at all which made me think about how a while back that wouldn't even have been a question that needed to be asked. I personally wasn't making any moral judgements about whether pop idols can or should be viewed as sex objects. Sexual fantasy is definitely part of the package they are selling so claiming that viewing them as such is point-blank inappropriate would be hypocritical, imo. Iirc the twitter rants I mentioned had to do with either the fandom reducing him to only his sex appeal, i.e. (unlike when talking about the other members) not caring about his personality, work-ethic, talents, artistry, skills but only seeing the ass and abs. Whether or not that's ok or disrespectful probably changes by the person. The other line of criticism had more to do with how Jimin was marketed quite overtly sexually right from the start by BH, with the shirt-lifting choreo, concept pics, etc. Which then, considering Jimin's age during debut gets into discourse about coercion, consent and exploitation. But, he's not a child anymore and like I alluded in my earlier post, nowadays I think he's very much in charge of his own sexuality and its public expression so it's not really an issue now. As for the thread, I'm not in charge but personally I don't mind some sexual posts, "confused" or otherwise.
