  1. Not saying the girls never messed up (but they apologised and genuinely are looking to better themselves) but what is happening lately is just downright sad.

It is admirable that RBW and Mamamoo bravely face up to allegations and adversities, unlike most other companies who would just sweep them under the carpet. If there is a misunderstanding, they come out to clarify. If they have made mistakes, there's no shame in apologizing because people grow up and learn. It's about the right values that they hold, and fans will learn too and respect them for that. Despite this may mean being dragged every time. they can at least hold their heads up high that they did not hide behind excuses.

Honestly, this whole mess with international fans always finding a new 'scandal' to drag Mamamoo is another reason why, despite the claims from certain parts of the fandom, I am more than happy with the girls not having/using social media at all, where all those people with too much time on their hands would just:

    a) have even easier access to content that they can manipulate as they wish;

    b) have a direct place to go post all their horrible thoughts about the girls, which they don't need.

Edit: Also, I feel like every Mamamoo member, other than maybe Moonbyul?, has been the designated 'problematic' member who is ruining the rest of the poor innocent girls in knetz' minds so I stopped giving a single f*ck about what they have to say a long time ago.

Yeah, I am glad too the girls do not have public social media accounts since that would make them susceptible to trolls. No one cared anything about what they said or do when they were rookies, but now that they have gained popularity and a very real threat to many other groups, they immediately get scrutinized for everything in the past, controversial or otherwise.

Sadly fans can yell themselves hoarse about what the girls have done to clarify or rectify even if these were old non-news, but malicious bandwagoners will not care for all these because they just want to hate blindly. That's the real price of fame and popularity. They just have to learn to be more tactful and careful, since their increased popularity mean their words and actions now hold more weight and ramifications. While such unpleasant allegations and exaggerations are regrettable, I hope they would not be overly affected because they should have known by now what this industry is like, and they have no choice but to train their hearts and mentality to cope with the madness, which will help them mature and survive in the long run. Best is that they will continue at their own pace to improve themselves to become better professionals, and let their performances and actions speak for themselves.

We Moomoos can help by clarifying where necessary, but don't get too caught up by circumstances that are not within control. Always keep a cool head if one decides to engage the others, and be cautious not to get overly agitated, as we do not want to give the antis any excuse and opportunity to twist the Moomoos' words for their own malicious agenda against the girls. There's only so much time in a day, and instead of wasting time on trolls, we should use the time more wisely to do more useful stuff for the girls like streaming their music and videos, and giving them more love and support. Focus more on what can be done within our ability, and fret less over what is beyond our control. Moomoos, fighting! smile.png

I was so happy to see FBE do a reaction video to Mamamoo. The Moomoos did a great job at requesting! Too bad there are no Immortal Songs performances - they are all legendary! - included but my guess is that it'd be a huge hassle for FBE having to deal with KBS wrt the copyright of the videos.

This video reaction exemplifies the reason behind Mamamoo having far more female fans than male ones. Most of the female reactors were visibly impressed by the different styles presented by Mamamoo, but most of the male ones looked confused like they couldn't figure out Mamamoo.

Moomoos probably started stanning Mamamoo for the same reason as the female reactors, that they love how Mamamoo is able to carry any tune and fit any style effortlessly, essentially creating their own unique Mamamoo genre. They also see Mamamoo as personifiation of female empowerment. Mamamoo have always been personally involved in their own music and performances, like composing songs, creating dance choreography, and even taking charge of their own solo projects. This I have to give RBW a lot of credit because it is very rare of companies esp such a small one to give such a free rein to their artistes, and what more in such an early stage of their career. (Just look at how CL's solo career has been stymied under YG and it makes me even more appreciative of this) Most other companies would have forced a feminine or cute image and songs on their girl groups instead of letting them develop their own style and character to maximise their earning power as soon as possible. Mamamoo went through the grind and earned their stripes by constantly improving themselves, and expanded their fandom organically by showing what they are capable of in their live performances and revelling in their beagle personalities behind the scenes. No hype or hollow exaggeration, just pure talent.

While it's natural that there are differing opinions to what they think of Mamamoo, I am unsure what to make of contradicting comments like "pick a style" and "generic". You can't pick a style when it comes to Mamamoo because of their talents and versatility. When you are versatile, you create a style of your own that cannot be imitated or categorised easily, and that's not what I will call generic. On the other hand, there are other people who find solace in familiarity that they can easily recognise and identify in an artiste's discography, so Mamamoo would not be their type that they would like, so each to his own.

For me personally, I am always glad to see Mamamoo break the mould with each new comeback and refuse to be pigeonholed in any single style (except their beagle personalities!). Fusing their personalities into their evolving musical style while keenly following the times is how they keep upgrading themselves and in turn ensure longevity in their music careers. For Mamamoo, change is the only constant, and that's what I love them for.QRLGYBO.png

(Apologies for this long essay, just that I felt I needed to give my own two cents after watching the FBE reaction video)

    Wait... what?! fD4JAZe.png

Wow, looks like their overseas foray is intensifying. Hope the Japanese Moomoos will shower as much love for the girls as we do! I guess Solar will be the main go-to since she was the one who gave the greeting in Japanese in the video message for Jap fans.

On the other hand, I was watching the latest episode (E29) of "Master In The House" when I heard a familiar song - "Rainy Season" smile.png. It was played at the beginning with the backdrop of raining in the streets. So much in the mood even though it was only for 10seconds.

  4. Review of Mamamoo's "Red Moon" album under the Entertainment section of The Korea Herald, a major South Korean newspaper:

[Album review] Mamamoo’s new album is everything you can expect for summer

"Wrapping up everything about summer, from the creepy summer night and boiling heat to the cooling breeze, in “Red Moon,†Mamamoo has once again proven why it is one of the most beloved K-pop acts to date. "

(So proud of the girls!smile.png )

  5. Some Solar trivia (not sure if it had been shared here before):

Actor Kim Soo Ro, who is 20 years older than Solar, is her NEPHEWlaugh.png

“Kim Soo Ro is a distant relative of the same Kim lineage but he’s one generation below me. He’s my nephew. It was interesting when he called me Auntie.†— Solar

    ha.

Everyone has a different preference of the various sides of Mamamoo, and she just happens to prefer the more vibrant and funky side of Mamamoo. That said, I find it quite funny that she said the more Mamamoo goes mainstream pop-y, the more likely the main channel won't react to them, yet she says she misses that kind of style, haha. People's tastes do change anyway like she mentioned that she has now veered towards the indie style (I guess stuff like Hyukoh).

Even though she probably no longer stans Mamamoo, I give it to her for being one of the early Mamamoo reactors to have brought more attention to the girls. Fans come and go - and many more are coming in than leaving - so there's no need to take it to heart too much. smile.png
