  1. the last time i came here, i complained about how slow the subs were and i stopped watching at around suju's ep because i didn't like reading chinese subs (despite being a sgean chinese myself lol) and i have lost interest in the cast members (used to like Julian but then .. nah).

but then a week ago i started to watch the lovers (which takuya starred in) and i found myself needing more of him so i decided to watch AS again

now that i'm here, i just want to say that i really enjoyed watching the better-subbed english episodes of AS. (sorry if my sentences don't make any sense rn as i have just marathon-ed 11 episodes of AS and i have so many unorganised thoughts running in my head) of course, there were a few issues that i wished people of a different sex participated (like someone pointed out the women-only trains thing in which i was literally wtf-ing the whole time they were talking about)

    my views aren't as concrete as the rest of us here because i feel that i still have more to learn so it could switch from time to time ;;;

i doubt I'll be able to watch the rest of the episodes soon after it gets subbed because school's starting yay for landing myself in a design school when i can't draw for crap and i have a feeling it's going to be very hectic. but, i shall try. i really like to watch programmes like this since i get to be more informed of the world and stare at handsome dudes at the same time

the lover is good! omg @ jung jun young and choi yeo jin (?) they're hilarious. takuya was good too. also, congratulations on your admission to design school!

  2. But I hope Russia will stay in the Summit, it is a country with unique people and traditions, and I think Ilya has much more to say, he just didn't have much opportunities yet. He actually is rather harsh like Enes was. I know it because I've read his blog about Korea he started in 2008. He shared his experiences in a foreign country there, compared it with Russia and also criticized Korean reality a lot. He made 1/3 of his articles hidden when he joined AS, so that Koreans won't be mad at him, I think xD

can you translate the article he wrote? (3/3 please i want to know what he say about korea) oh and also ilya has a twitter but hasn't updated since 2014 if you want for the  front page xD

  3. Next time, I'd like for them to talk about how minorities are treated at their countries.

In my home country (Indonesia) is actually quite bad, there are quite many discriminations and some religious extremists. I can't count how many times my belief (Catholic) were challenged and ridiculed by others. The worst thing is, I went to a private non-denominational high school and the teacher seemed to encourage racism. I remembered there was this teacher that always picked and called me and other Chinese descendant names, and he also openly criticized and dissed my religion in front of whole class. I was really shocked at that time, because I couldn't believe that a TEACHER who's supposed to give a good example of toleration did such thing.

Also, on Christmas where churches are packed, there would be a bunch police officers to guard the church, they even have metal detectors because there were a lot of bomb threat going on directed to Christians (But in last few years there were less threats going on. So I guess the situation has got a lot of better ?)

I think it is a good idea to pick someone who's a minority in his country because he could represent both his religion/ethnicity and the majority.

can i ask which state are you from? i always thought Indonesia is an open minded country where different religion can still marry to each other (say a Muslim marries a Christian) when it is actually forbidden in Islam. like in the case of Indonesian actresses, Nana and Naysila Mirdad's parents where the father is Muslim and the mother is Christian. that's why i was shocked to hear there are polices in front of churches?? i think i have this image of Indonesia being an open minded country.

and wow you have a douchey teacher. i used to have a Sikh history teacher in high school and since my country has different beliefs compared to hers, i really respect her for not saying anything racist and even remember all the little details of Islam, Buddha and Christian better than her Muslim and Christian students.

  4. i guess there are so many ups and downs for the subbers and us viewers   (but mostly subbers.) anyway, we gotta give them credits for subbing such a hard show. thank you so much, kvarietyshow!

do you guys think you can be a good panelist in representing your country? i think i would be good in the Late News Issue and Global Culture segment because I am very proud of my country and also i think a lot of people didn't know much about Malaysia. On the main segment though, a lot of opinion are thrown esp by the strong members (Julian, Tyler, Alberto, Yuan) and other members might not get the same airtime as everything they wanted to express had been said. Therefore I think I would be very bad in the main segment.

Lately, Sam and Sujan got very little airtime and I wanted to hear what they say and about their country. I didn't know much about Nepal and Ghana and would love to hear more of their culture. It felt fresh to have them as a panelist among the Europeans. I admire Europe but listening to three consecutive Europe cultures felt a little too.. similar? (no offense!) I really would like to hear about Ghana's tribe and Nepal's tradition. About their pride as a Nepalese and Ghanaian.

I wish I could just shake Sujan from being shy and stop Sam from cracking their same old jokes. Talk a bit, man! I want to hear what you say! TALK!

  5. I think he's got a lot of people who are waiting for him to fail, and I think that's really upsetting.

He can be a bit of a jerk, but who knows if that's how it was edited to be? He's had to clarify himself many times that the staff have edited convos in such a way so that he looks like "devil's advocate" just for the drama.

Yeah, I think he needs to have a convo with the PDs. They seriously need to stop constantly showing him as the bad guy. They tried to fix his image with the whole hidden camera thing, but I don't know if thats enough.

The article didn't seem to have many upvotes, so hopefully it doesn't become that big of an issue, but yeah, I'd rather these guys stay out of any further controversy.

i think yuan's bad attitude is just a ticking time bomb waiting to explode for a bigger controversy. the show's too good to be ruined by their members. after all the bad vibes given by yuan, i think even the k- netizens too will be sick of it sooner or later.

  7. No there is no rule like that. Unless programe that he will be on is aired on the same time with the as they can do. Why not? In case of tyler, he is also one of members of the time traveler K which is broadcast on KBS1 channel.

i don't think so? Zhang Yuan was on SNL, and most of the AS cast has been on Happy Together.

    Alberto on HT (raw)

I love the part where he demonstrated his futbol skills.

    ok noted, thanks!

  8. Thank u.

    BTW

if AS member(s) guest in the crime scene s2 or The Genius s4, who and who do u think will do?

Considering the games would be tough, i think Tyler will be able to play well. but i could see Alberto would go far in The Genius because he knows how to communicate well and could be persuasive in terms of teaming up and making deals. He works at a car company, after all. (if that counts.)

  10. I'm so glad she's finally debuting. Maybe everyone chooses CCM/MBK because it's easier of getting in and they don't kick you out that easy? Just a guess.

Also, since F-ve Dolls disbanded, Seunghee went back being a trainee and will debut in another group, so probably we'll get a chance of seeing Heehyun and Seunghee together in the same group.

F-ve Dolls disbanded?? Seunghee back to training and will re- debut??  :omg:

I really hope Inbin can be an actress in the future. :rlytearpls:

  12. Translation from Ize Magazine Interview: Yoo Jiae & JIN

Q: It seems that you enjoy the small details in everyday life.

JIN: I like it very much. Especially the year-end ceremony at church, since I can’t go anymore I think it well be very dull. I was a trainee for 4 years and have been living at the dorm for 3 years. Until last year, I still went to the ceremony and even picked out word cards. But now that I debuted, I have to practice at the end of the year, preparing for SBS Gayo Daejun.

so basically this is confirming their attendance right? bbys all grown up now attending events and all  :rlytearpls:
