  1. totally enjoyed this drama. It was rather comical and cute for most of the way and then hit that serious second story line towards the end. I enjoyed the concept. I was hesitant as first but i'm glad I watched that first episode, it was great. Very hooked. Ending was cute enough, could have a more fluff, but it was good enough. Definitely a good pick-me up after the let down from Producers... Cindy didn't get her man!! lol. Park Bo-Young is amazing in this. Her resume is mostly movies in a more serious roles, so she came off insanely adorable and cute. Cho Jung-Seok I remembered from You're the Best, so he was enjoyable. Kim Seul-Gi I remember her as the manager from Flower Boys Next Door.
  2. So I had been putting off this drama because of some effy reviews on DF. But eventually I went for it, started monday, and already through episode 9. gotta say it's entertaining as heck. Cable dramas, especially tVN are differently legit stuff, lately they have pretty great stuff to watch. Park Bo Young is aca-awesome. I love the two different characters thing, and it's comical and cute, if you remember her from Hot Young Bloods, this isn't anything like that. It's fun to watch, and find myself really enjoying it. can't wait for new episodes
  3. just started picking up this drama, just finished producers last week and now i'm being horrible and trying to watch three dramas at once. i think i avoided spoilers, only on episode 2 but i'm liking it so far.
  4. you're doing great things in life. Iol. thank you. Sunny is totally rocking this MV. Wardrobe is very flattering to her, and her body. While everyone looks cute and amazing, Sunny was aca-awesome. It's hot, and cute, at the same time. She could totally pass for a member of Sistar rocking curves like that! Not trying to start anything, love all gal groups but we know Sistar is regarded as the group with the curves and hot bodies. Sunny look like she could have been in the Loving U MV and you wouldn't think twice. LOL. Thanks to the fashion coordinators on this one.
  5. Do i still need to use spoilers or are we done with that? Everyone caught up? Um... Cindy still likes him
  6. I saw first episode. Not sure if it's enough to hold me yet. I saw Birth of a Beauty and Good Doctor, and do find Joo Sang Wook likable. it looks like this drama will hit some dark spots. we'll see.
  7. currently watching this, on episode 2. as DF has been putting it in the featured column. so far i find it's cute and endearing. i'm coming off finishing Producers, so still in a mood for a good romance, we'll see how it goes.
  8. that is by far the biggest confidence booster ever. thanks so much... lol..... everyone who wants more cindy/BSC, go find fanfiction. lol
  9. LOL... actually now... it concluded with that couple like we thought it would... I'd say it was a good/okay drama. I still think it left a lot to be desired but I think 11/12 were the strongest. Cindy carried the drama to the finish line for me. She had the drama and the more traditional story line. he sure can act. These last two episodes really pulled BSC's character together. The concern for me is where was that writing for episodes 5-10? lol. Just finished watching on my fave drama provider. I'm overall quite happy with the drama... Had fun, love love loved Cindy, and I think everyone else does now. Glad to have been able to chat/converse with some of the folks here on this drama. It was fun for me. If any of you guys are as animated and passionate towards other dramas, please let me know. So maybe I can watch that drama and join the conversation too.
  10. I feel like i'm missing something. I read that the last two episodes will be 90 minutes long. I see that Ep 11 has been subbed and ready to go. Waiting for ep 12. by now I'm sure BSC-Cindy wont' happen but at least I hope Cindy will do well. she's like the reason to keep watching. i'll report back with something to say after I check them out.
  11. haha... ladies screaming in dramas is a lil common place... i'm still kinda proud of myself for watching all 50 episodes.. what did i do with my life in 2013 though i don't remember. But I got your message. Thanks, it was straight up honest. I mean that's true, they never really had characters that done this before... For GHJ I can see it as a more chilled role for her that can be more relaxed and silly compared to what she's done. I'll agree with Yejin as well defined. We get her quirks and it's explained. BSC I don't see his defined character. If you can point it out for me great; I get BSC is well-education and thought to be level-headed (whether he is or not is debatable), hardworking, sensitive emotionally, generally thoughtful. That's the picture I get from him for the first few episodes before the YJ loveline. BSC crush on his college senior, crush on YJ, dysfunctional family sorta leaves questions to his character for me. A lot of that is the writing, and he gotta work with what he got. YJ/JM seem more developed and defined because they also had reputation and relationship/history of the other KBS employees that help paint a picture whereas BSC is the rookie with no friends other then the other rookies who we don't see/hear from again really. Then again I'm not watching this drama sitting down like I do with others, I watch this mainly at the gym so it's easier for me to miss things when my attention is drawn else where. But I'll trust your judgement on it. so is there a sticky that clearly defines some Korean Drama Tropes? like 'second lead syndrome' - I've watched countless dramas, and prolly know what it is but then again maybe an explanation will work. My takeaway is PM isn't a good recommendation. IU is fun to watch, so maybe just get clips. lol
  12. I'll assume everything after 'that's not the worst part' is your elaboration on the worst. It fathoms me how people can be in korea, knetz crazy. I wouldn't say IU was stellar in YATBLSS, but she wasn't crap either. Improvement over DH, and also a legit leading role, but yeah using one drama to benchmark her sucks. Hollywood doesn't seem to have this problem. You get haters sure, but damn... blaming it on IU is just tough. From my k-fan-ness being from America, i would be like 'oh neat, IU is in a drama, I like IU, i'll check it out' where knetz/peeps be like 'iu in a drama, iu is an idol, don't check it out'. I agree with you, I watched Heirs, and wasn't blown away by it. it's also complicated cuz established actors will have bad drama series too but they're forgiven for it, not so much for idols in general. producers had the good co-actors, just bad scripting and from what i'm reading from you guys, she'll get heat for this after all said and done as well. No one is saying anything about BSC and Yejin, gosh has to be the worst roles I seen for their actors I've personally seen. 4D like how Sunmi was when she was a Wonder Girl? Should i watch Pretty Man? TBH - I don't find JKS that charming... but if you say it's worth a watch, i'll check it out when I'm on the stairmaster. I can't recall cuz it's been a while, but did people do the same thing to Suzy? I ask cuz I know Suzy and IU were both given that daughter/little sister of korea title. Suzy had Gu Family Book and Architecture 101, both I enjoyed. Strange how people will love them, unless they go into acting. It was implied earlier here that the lack of umbrella couple is tied to the lack of support for Cindy mainly because it's played by IU. Which is kinda lame. Then again there is a combination of many things that have made this drama fall short of its potential. lol
  13. From the Love from the Stars drama? That character? I didn't think there was any indication that Cindy was to be like that unless something was implied during a press conference, a release or production note. I only spotted into the drama cuz DF was always putting it on the feature list and the cast line up looked good. After watching IU's 50 episode drama 'Lee Soon Shin is the Best', I wouldn't doubt her as an actor. I didn't watch the Pretty Man one she's in though. Granted she'll be typecasted into a role where she can use her cuteness, but I think most females fall into world. strangely, just glancing her resume, all her dramas were KBS lol. In the beginning, you knew the character Cindy was, but she never gave you a legit reason to be mad at her, because you kind of expected a certain thing from the '10 year idol vet'... dramas will love the diva game. but any hate received for it, just seems misplaced. silly peoples. lol the noona-love thing i heard was popular, as some buddy of mine working in korea mention. i'm not sure where/how it start, but yes I can see people upset if it was a much younger gal-guy connection... like in um.. "when a man's in love". the double-standards... although at the beginning, the other male PDs praised joon mo for having a younger GF i think, so lol.
  14. I can't tell which episode this happened, 3, 4, or 5? when it just was it super clear it was a crush. I thought he would help joonmo and Yejin get together.. BSC and Joon Mo do okay considering joonmo dated the girl. BSC never mentions it to his boss so he doesn't know that they share that connection. but yeah, his sunbae from school... all those years destroyed in one month? and two months have passed since he started... where is she? so far in between. if the drama went more meta, like the girls detective one, it prolly would have worked. lol so are we taking bets and namings odds for this one? i could see that. wait, why did people not like IU/Cindy in the beginning? that is crazy... knetz are crazy... lol, not like us normal folks.. who talk about it here on onehallyu... we're totally sane... for the most part...
  15. Yay, we continue to agree!! Although in regards to time and the 12 episode format. It does seem to run 80 minutes, because if I watch two episodes on DF, i'll have done 2 hours and 20 minutes in the gym. lol. So that explains maybe why it's 12 instead of the typical 16 or 20?? But yes, still feels rushed. I know you considered dropping the drama. BSC-Yejin felt like it was just an on switch, suddenly happened. Whereas Cindy to BSC had like two-three episodes taking up to her realization/actualization. it's bothersome that BSC is kinda an ass and doesn't at least say something to Cindy. He's not the standup guy episode 1-3 had you believe he was. lol It had potential, but then again 80% of dramas is cookie cutter, and it's they're written and done that makes you watch. Nearly every story of romance ever made can trace back to greek stories or something sheakspeare wrote. Although give IU credit, she's come a long way since Dream High. I felt like the mockumentary format was nice because it was gonna kill what dramas typically do, having the characters speak/say their thoughts /emotions outloud. with the camera man there, they have a reason. Maybe what happened in the drama happened to the actual production team.. IRONY!!! lol. jk. but they cast was good. Daring even, i mean Joonmo is like 5-8/5-9 and you got Yejin who is at 5-7/5-8, i thought height considerations were a big deal in roles.. I mean Tom Cruise is 5-8, hence he's only paired with leading females who are shorter, or never wear heels. I think they weren't will to take the risk. Parks and Rec and Office didn't have stellar of season 1s. Granted we're coming 30-min sitcom to an 80 minute drama but they had the chance. Lol, I know... 10 episodes in, and we only seen the PD work in like 2 episodes, and technically two projects. 1st episode of 1night2days, and maybe we can include a little of the music show where cindy got hurt / cindy best friend visit. They didn't plan out how to do the workplace drama... the other drama, misaeng or whatever, with no lovelines, all work. It did well, simple and straight. This is work and this is what it's like. Producers.. what is a PD, what is a writer? Is it just really the PD yelling at everyone below him/her? lol. the strange closet fellow that helps out BSC, seems to be interesting. haha.
  16. TBH, It started because Jessica was one of the two american members whose name I could pronounce. With nine members it was easier for me to focus on one member before getting to figure out the rest. It doesn't hurt that Jessica is really pretty. I like her English voice, i was watching lot of youtube videos of her english speaking. like that one in the radio where she was like 'oh i don't care'. It's nice. when first starting out, that was nice, and totally helped that she was a lead/main singer too? I just said I like her, and it worked out? lol. Jessica is my no. 2 bias now, as Sunny is my no. 1 bias. I got into the game at 2009, and sunny was shown as the strong and fearless one of the group. and when IY came out... lol anyways. Love Sunny, love Jessica. Which makes sunsica my otp in soshi. Even now I still like Jessica. I know someone who met Tiffany and Jessica in LA years back and say Jessica has a very sarcastic sense of humor. I don't know her personally but it seems to hold true. From what I seen, Jessica seems to have the personality that is a little similar to Beca Mitchell, the first movie (Beca kinda changed in the second one). That's pretty aca-awesome.
  17. ah okay. the way you word it made it seem like you date or actively seek girls that are Cindy - types. Minus them being an idol, money. etc. lol i agree those characters are quite fun. Wasn't that Suzy's character in DH? it's a good theme, and mostly endearing to watch. I mean Secret Garden, the Jerk with the layers? come on... yeah. But the growth of Cindy is nice. dragged us along all these episodes and then bam. whereas the other characters stayed the same. BSC's crush on TYJ didn't grow his character, i felt like it set his character back. as if he originally was a 'good guy' but then he pursue a gal who likes someone else, and he believes he thinks they like each other. Not saying Joon Mo has 'dibs' or anything, but its a lil rude to go for the girl when you know she likes someone else. Sure it happens all the time, but in the beginning it felt like that his character wasn't that type. and it's been at least 2 months, the gal from ep 1 hasn't returned yet? what kind of Leave is she on? lol. I feel like things be different if she was back in the office too. Cindy, thanks for taking us along the ride.
  18. yeah, Joon Mo seems to know a lot of Yuna, I think he has a guilt factor involved that they haven't shown cuz he convinced her to stand up to CEO. Frankly Joon Mo is the only PD who has anything interesting left on the table storywise for the viewers. It seems only Joon Mo and Chief/Deputy Chief know about this, and this is prolly what created the beef with Joon mo and CEO Byun. BSC-Cindy being like Joon Mo/Yuna seems likely, the whole drama has been about irony so I could see where it comes from, but at most BSC changes/inspires Cindy like Joon Mo did to Yuna, except for now things are more positive for Cindy than say a girl who disappeared 5 years ago. We just want cindy to be happy. It's prolly gonna be with me. Let me get my umbrella. lol JK... so bitches with a soft side eh, so are you posting in another thread how dating those types of girls have worked out for you? lol. they seem fun on screen, in real life, not all are as cute/adorable, or friendly. lol
  19. Hyojin is a good actress, but I guess this is her comedy/goof around role, her last few were more on the serious side. yes... we'll just dream about umbrella couple in some other way. haha. no lie, this being the bit*h thing works out for cindy here. the poor girl caught in the crossfire of Cindy and CEO Byun.. kinda effy place to be. yeah, he flashes in and out of 'intelligence'. it's implied at times through his research and work that involves looking things up. and papers. Stuff that a law kid would do well at. but i think Cindy became the scene-stealer. I feel like the writers are purposely making umbrella couple not happen, like as if it would be more exciting with bsc-tyj or something. but yeah cindy's scenes are getting better. next weekend i guess we'll see what happens. lol
  20. I just watched it epi 10 with subs...... TOTALLY disappointed at the end! lol. Yeah, Cindy seemed to be a typical cliche type at the beginning, but now she's the character you root for and like. I couldn't stay with Seung-Chan anymore, he was the guy you liked in the beginning, but as it progress, I kinda stop caring about him. And Epi 10
  21. oh your right... Cindy stopped him... But no, I wanted a legit, in his words, his reaction to that night. because silly me thought Cindy was trying to stay professional too, as if it was part of a 'hard to get game' she thought BSC was playing. No, I'm with you, i thought the tide was turning after she said what she said about the man in the umbrella... and i'm thinking BSC you're a fool. and maybe he's starting to see what he's missing... like wtf.. lol oh man. yay, will have to wait for epi 10... but i feel like i should downvote you just for the BSC-YJ thing... it's clearly your fault lol i can't tell if this is good or bad... the suspense... i want to downvote you too... lol.
  22. I agree. Cindy was the one viewers would root for anyways I think. It was her destiny. it's cliche but you knew it to be true. Seung-Chan makes no sense whatsoever. I'm still confused because even after re-watching 1-5, i couldn't see why/how/why he fell for Yejin. He does brilliant things and then switches to complete jacka$$ the next. it's confusing as hell... Ra Joon Mo is actually more tolerable now, maybe cuz he yells less at BSC, and that you notice KBS is kinda full of people you're not sure you'd be successful with. lol... you see he's a good dude, but you never see the side of him that made a main PD/supervisory role. The reason that KBS kept him on payroll all these years is because _________. yeah, now we know why they kept mentioning that other girl we know who it is. it actually happened rather fast. Just went into hiding once and CEO takes action like this, meaning 'cindy is gonna be trouble, get rid of her', or the new girl was on market and took opportunity. Usually your new draft pick still spends time in camp before hitting the field/court. so i guess it's a combination of the two. Epi 9 out now for those who haven't figured it out. on BSC and Cindy
  23. wait this is a legit source photo? It looks fanmade based... so photoshopped. and not in the good way. lol.
  24. Omg a reply from a legend member! Thanks for the response. (I shorten the quote to save space) lol. I want to enjoy the drama for the pure fun and stupidity of things like how we accepted dramas like Dream High. Thanks for agreeing with me. It's nice to say something about it. I think the show wanted to do a 'mockumentary' thing like Parks and Recreation or The Office but it came off like half-a$$ stuff. Like in Ep3 they blur everything out but the speaker? I didn't get what that was about. Episode 5 had like none of the 'blurs'. So it's strange. The cast to me seems all-star in the leads, a lot could be done. i rewatched Ep 1-5 so I could be up to where you are to made sound/knowledgeable contribution. I watched this at the gym again, but this time paid closer attention. You stopped at 5, I don't want to be that guy but you should keep watching. the two BSC 'love-lines' expand more in ep 6-8. We both agree that BSC is a confusing character. He flashes in between like-able and dunce. We know he's both overqualifed and under-qualified for the PD job. He shows his flashes of book smarts that got him through law/college. But we know he can be pity. I have to say currently as it's written, this is Kim Soohyun's worst character he's play. Not saying the guy's ability, but just the character written. Him being at KBS is pretty outrageous, that's why it's only TV right? lol. I think him just being a rookie PD would have made sense too, but they may have to change his college background. They needed him to be the tragic guy who risked it for love, that was never there giving a bad image to all FA and FZ guys out there. I mean he look like he was still into that girl after he found out the news and you're right, nothing was acted on it. WTF dude? If not, why stay at KBS? Your parents have enough money to support while you can take ur amazing resume back to law. lol, then we have no drama to watch. Yejin and BSC is just plain weird. I don't get it at all. Is this a 'Hot for Teacher Thing'? (all you 80/90s kids know lol). Like, why did he take the pancakes after the drinking session? I haven't seen anything to explain why he likes her? Because this love-line is currently one-sided but should disappear. You have two talented actors here but this on-screen loveline feels so weird and out of nowhere. It's not organic. Did the writers want it to seem forced? Is that why we see it that way? And you're right, she always interact with him first. Joonmo is a hard to like character as well. In my sassy girl he was the 'adorkable' guy. dorkly adorable. here he's drama cliche douchebag-good-guy-at-heart type. the acting is solid, don't hate a guy for working with what's given to him. Joonmo knows he likes Yejin too though, I think. he purposely friendzones himself but always runs to her if she needs it though. Joonmo's failure to respond/act/reply to Yejin's advances is also ironic because BSC does the same thing to Cindy. And the only reason BSC gave for the first girl is that 'she's pretty'. Cindy is pretty, and into him, that's a pretty solid deal. Cindy's love-line is simpliest to pick up on. Soohyun and IU were in Dream High together but I don't think that's relevant for this love-line. The irony of Cindy's love line is that she goes to the show to show her personable side, but for the viewer it's her infatuation and crush on BSC that makes her personable. It's cliche-ish in a way but I accept it and i see it. It makes sense just like Yejin/Joon Mo does. IU isn't as talented as the other cast leads (but imo she's gotten better with each role) but at least her attraction to BSC feels organic. It's cheesy (we're all watching kdramas expecting some cheese) and cliche, that the guy held her attention, impressed her in ways she's never seen before (ie talk back to her boss). The book, hat and headphones must come into play again later.Once you catch up, you'll see he's kinda acting like Joonmo in regards to Cindy, I think. I mean he can pick up on Yejin's feelings for Joonmo but not Cindy's? How does Yejin doesn't see it, it's something she would boast about. He's been a good guy in the beginning, i mean that's why the umbrella happened in the first place? So after their trip, he realizes he's into Yejin? I expect more development there for the final four episodes. Thanks for the response. Catch up and watch. That way I can have something to type about this with. LOL.
  25. This drama has been enjoyable. I had some chuckles here and there. It's not revolutionary or a standout but so far fun, but a bit disappointing too. I have to assume there will be some spoilers and everyone is caught up a bit? I started the drama while at the gym to get through a long/slow burn of cardio. I ended up at the gym longer than I wanted to on that stair stepper watching. Seung-Chan is likable and that's to be expected, at least from a viewer standpoint. I do like Seung-Chan and Cindy and hope they become something. Although, I may need to go back and re-watch episodes 1-8... because when did Seung-Chan get/develop a crush on Ye jin, how/why? At first I thought he was being a nice guy and trying to set things right and working to get Yejin and Joon Mo together or something... but I was wrong about that. And I feel like Seung-Chan is the character the viewers are suppose to track into the most, cuz he's the rookie PD on the team. So he's stated as a guy who went to a good school, graduated from a good program, good family (most part).. He was a stickler about the umbrella thing, which because it would cost him money from his paycheck. Got it, understandable. He isn't easily impressed/phased by Cindy and her status. But I'm in the process of rewatching Answer Me 1994 , so seeing Go Ara was kinda cool and nice. she's aca-awesome.
