IBI does deserve some more time. I think it's a solid group. (a lil bias, yes lol). 

Loen is a good backer, well typically considering they have a solid footing in the industry either way. I was surprised for like, only 2 stages on music shows. It's a project group with potential and you can tell they put money into this. The choreo thing, eh they'll figure that out later, not a big deal to me maybe for others. Chaekyung and Sohee typically appear to have more schedules than the others. Hyeri seems back to OMZM according to twitter posts, she's back with her group.

It was just last week they came out with this debut, and it feels like it's over. Defconn said he couldn't control them getting a weekly idol spot, but that'd be so awesome. But more schedules means this is are more serious project. keeping fingers crossed... and hoping for some goodies to international fans. i'd like to hang a banner on my wall. lol. 

Yeah same even if it's just a unsigned physical copy i would also like to get my hands on one. very jealous of these K-netizens who really don't know how lucky they are..

I was worried when they said the group do a single, i'd thought it was a digital single but then the behind the scenes of the photoshoots, profiles, and now we know they got a physical item, just want one. They put in the work, I know a lot will be promotional gifts but some need to get to fans. Nothing on gmarket or the kpop stores yet so no clue just yet.

Wow, so many pages. I'm surprised and pleased to see there are many other IBI fans carried over from the PD101 days. 

All in all, that show has been rather wonderful for most girls in the top 22 it seems. Anyways, I haven't been by in a few days and the pages jumped, i've been relying on twitter for my I.B.I news and sources, forgot I could stop by here. LOL

Been watching the MV daily, several times, just cuz! It's nice these girls got their shot, and so nice they got to get together. I was talking friends how I wanted a group Haein and Hyeri and Sohee together the most (they took most of my votes after we were down from voting 11 to 1 a day). It's even crazier that all I.B.I are among my faves of PD101, and they got their own group. kpop-gods are mysterious sometimes. 

Prolly posted several times before, but just flashback to their pd101 days. I.B.I was a thing, before Loen even made them a thing. =)

ah yes! this thread is happiness! I've been all about Haein and Hyeri since PD101 and wanted all five to be in a group (along with some others) and how surprising it was to hear about I.B.I, I got my five in a group together! 

I'm digging the song, loving the gals... the only thing is, I'm confused why Haein wore a hat on the stage. That maybe I could have done without. lol

I have to keep reminding myself this is a project group.. but I so really want them to be a long-term thing. lol

I didn't know Hyeri was close to Sohee as well. But this Hyeri Cam just seems to show that Haein and Hyeri have a pretty legit ship. While there is Somi and Soyeon, Hyeri/Haein are quite there.

been voting for Hyeri like crazy... nervous only because Hyeri made top 11 with the benefits last ranking so she still needs help to join her friends Haein and Sohee in the final group. this weekend will end in either insane freak out or a celebration. lol. I think she'd round out the group very well. 

I liked the drama. it did play off the movie signal a bit, but they did take what they could and made a show of their own from it. it's a solid show, and enjoyable. no lovelines and too much fuss in that department. I think it was good at building up when it needed to. 

The ending, is a little lackluster but I won't spoil it too much. The show had it's charm, and I thought it was refreshing in the lineup of what was out there at the time.

I found this comment on NB, is it true?

 

The writer is amazingg and said that they based Deoksun's character on Hyeri's real life character but didnt want to cast her because of the whole buzz about idol actors and were worried she'd do badly. Well, they auditioned a bunch of people and couldnt find the right person so they let Hyeri audition without telling her the character was based on her real life self on variety shows etc. She got the role and they revealed it later on.

so Deoksun's character is based on Hyeri but they didn't want Hyeri? I just saw Hyeri in Real Men and Girl's Day One Fine Day. She's unique, though Yura is the biggest character in that group. lol. 

Interesting. I saw this comment as well, but I can't find the interview they are quoting. I remember Eunji had a similar feeling, like she wasn't acting at all because that was her real self. The Reply producers have a knack for casting, and they really know how to bring out the best in their cast.

Eunji does seem like a Busan girl to the core. My friends tell me they're different than those Seoul girls. Everyone fell for Eunji for Reply 1997, watching all the apink variety shows (apink news 1, 2, 3 and showtime)... eunji seems pretty legit. Apink is pretty down to earth. Though I think Go Ara really had to pull off her acting skills for Reply 1994, but they have always had such strong female gals in Reply. 

Okay, the last two episodes, I don't even know what happened?!? I'm pretty mind-blown and confused, gotta re-watch it to put it in my brain to make sense. like it seems like no one got anything right in their guesses. Watching the episode made me go watch La Bamba too, argh, damn this always happens, bringing me back to the 90s, and now the 80s. lol.

the chocolate footage hasn't been touched on again. Epi 3 and 4 didn't have adult Duk-seon to push further on it. Unlike 1997 and 1994, I've yet to see her really show a closeness to any particular guy, except maybe Sun-Woo... but she hasn't shown anything like the closeness of the prev. 2 series so far in these four episodes. so still a mystery and too early to pick an otp.

just noticed Ko Gyung-Pyo and Park Bo-Gum have been in many stuff together, lol. Coin Locker Girl is a movie I want to watch, just noticed they are in it.

My favorite series so far has been Reply 1997. I think it's because I could relate so much, I mean... just the fangirling over H.O.T. and the fandom fights is enough for some of us to relate to her. Her high school life, the old computers, beepers, etc All of that reminds me of childhood. Plus the plot and the advice in each episode was amazing. Eunji's character really reminded me of myself during my teenage years so maybe that's why I like it far more. 

 

Reply 1994 was alright, I think their main problem was that they dragged the story line too much (It had more episodes than Reply 1997) but it wasnt bad. 

 

I still think many of us were rooting for Chilbong cause he was quite good looking. I mean, if Trash had been a bit cuter then many would have supported him harder haha

 

 

Now for Reply 1988, I was afraid that I wouldnt be able to relate but since they are focusing in  family matter and friendship and crushed and shit, I think it's bit easier for me to relate. So far, so good. Now, I gotta praise Hyeri. I'm not a GsD fan and I've never seen her act so I wasn't expecting much but she surprised me with how natural she is. She totally fits the character! There's a scene in episode 4 where she is being cute and saying "meow"... Dude, DUDE! I was cooing and squeaking haha She was soooo cute!

Argh, you girls are so shallow, just because Trash wasn't attractive... he was everything for her and always there and a doctor but that isn't good enough for you?!? geez lol. Did you see Chilbong in Jeju Island Gatsby/Warm and Cozy? Totally not that attractive.. jk jk jk , okay different character but he was more attractive in that drama. and Kang Sora is nice. 

I'm a fan of GsD, well not crazy fan but I've listened to them since back when they were five members. I never really noticed Hyeri until after she dated Tony and was in Real Men, frankly cuz I think others took the spotlight. I wouldn't call her role/acting in the Girls Detectives drama stellar or anything. But this role, character is such a leap IMO. I know people wanna rip on her, or idols in general in acting roles, but so far I can't complain. Her look is great and mends into the 80s look. TVN has another winner on their hands, after capturing me with Oh My Ghost, they better keep delivering the goods. lol. 

but seriously... meow meow... wth! lol. it was so cute... and now all the sudden we're not sure who the husband will be again. I'm not rooting for anyone yet. None of the guys pulled me on their side yet. 

That moment when you realized boys are different... "is that roll of quarters or you just happy to see me"... the sexual innuendos in this drama is LOL. then again, i feel like the 1988 backdrop attracts an older crowd, and besides it's cable not network. 

I forgot to say that something I really love about the Reply series is that the cast isnt your typical handsome men/ flower boys and same for the women. All of them look like your typical neighbor instead :'] 

That's why i said no one really stood out as an attractive lead in this one. I think the most attractive physically was Hoya... and please not i'm a guy judging this, so any ladies will prolly differ from me. 

I think 94 is bittersweet. Many viewers got mad because they didn't like the ending but for me it's all about characters growth. 88 is better tho, I only watched the first 2 eps and read recaps for ep 3&4 but I know it's gonna be better than the previous series.

I'm on that special boat that liked 97 and 94. I didn't see anything wrong with the ending really. I thought the tie in between the 97 and 94 characters was cute. The two baseball coaches as dads was a little off, but it worked okay. 97 was about that high school iife and the change/transition to the rest of their lives. 94 had the college experience, and the self-discovery time. 88 we're back in high school. 

88's Hyeri's character is a little different. Not like Eunji and Go Ara (but lets' face it, the reply series has liked strong female leads) where they were dominate and an alpha character. Eunji and Go Ara had relatively fearless and stronghead characters, who could boss nearly all those around them. Hyeri's middle child situation takes that away from her naturally in the household. We don't see her push the household like Eunji and Go Ara did in early episodes. I won't say 88 is better than the previous two series just yet. The expectations are high for this series and drama. I've enjoyed it so far. can't wait for more episodes.

Haha, i think i need more episodes for them to grow on me!!! Kim Sung Kyun isn't the best visual attractor on the show? oh man, i been doing this all wrong... my bad!!! lol

TBH, yes they are attractive... but they don't visual wow me in the first episodes like some of the other guys in previous Reply series, then again it's the 80s... no one looked good in the 80s...haha. Which they could have done on purpose, especially now since they guys have started to noticed her as an attractive person, so the guys may blossom in response into the 'let's make a love line' part of the drama. 

The reply series have been wonderful. Loved Reply 1997, and the one I think was the best (it's the original, so it's natural).

Every relationship/final pairing in 1997 and 1994 were the ones I liked. No complaints there. I think there was complaints with 1994, but I honestly couldn't see it being anyone else - but i could understand the teasing of 'guest the husband' was starting to annoy everyone. I think that happened mostly cuz you saw it in 1997, so to see it again was a lil taxing. The dramas themselves have been great. 

1988 - so far, enjoyable. Not gonna root for anyone... don't hate me guys but the male characters of 1997 and 1994 were more attractive than this lot of guys. I'm saying that as a guy, I just don't see them visually as appealing. And it's not the clothes!! lol... 

Drama is promising so, and so far I'm having fun with it. Just in time too since I finished Eunji's drama and almost done with "She was Pretty'. 

Honestly, Hyeri has never looked more attractive to me, ever. In girls day, it's usually Minah or someone else. I mean I found Hyeri more interesting after Real Men, but she looks good in this drama. The reply series has been positive for the lead female actress, so it's rather exciting for Hyeri. Eunji burst into stardom, and people found more reasons to keep falling for Go Ara; so way to go Hyeri. 

90 minutes each episode of 1 and 2. Is this going to be for the rest of the drama? 

So completed episode 10... if there ever was a drama for me where i wanted second lead, this would be the one. okay maybe 'You're Beautiful' as well, i typically am straight forward with the intended couple the writers set for us. But this one, major Second Lead Syndrome. 

Have you guys seen that 90/00s movie of Melissa Joan Hart "Drive Me Crazy"? I only mention that because, the kiss, the couple-ship... what about their parents yo?! You knew this was coming, but my greatest hope for HaJoon and Yeon-Doo is the parents. Just because, like didn't his dad just propose to her mom, so that's a serious commitment type thing. They like each other a lot, to get to that point, am I wrong? So what happens when the kids find out? When the parents find out? Who is suppose to give up? I'm no a parent, so I couldn't think what I'd do in the situation, give up my relationship for my kid? At the same time, just cuz you're a single parent, or a divorcee, does that mean you aren't allowed another shot? If two adults are happy together, is it okay for them. to break it off cuz their kids are dating? i am of course pulling on the assumption that yeon-doo mom says yes to the proposal, and then yeon-doo and kim yeol become step-brother and step-sister. granted it's not wrong in the sense they won't be blood relatives, and i've seen step-cousin relationships, but step-bro/sis? maybe it's because i'm older and that's why I'm thinking of the adults and their situation. I don't know if anyone else thought of that, or just me. lol.

Soo-Ah - we always knew she was bad, and this drama was a bit predictable in what would happen. But I felt like she was always made so that we could always hear her side, or relate to her. The biggest villian in the drama is still the school principal and soo-ah's mom. You knew soo-ah was acting tough and putting up a front, i'm not saying it excuses her, but you knew. and i knew that Dong-jae would be a big part for her, and she for him. I mean they showed once hajoon understanding or sympathic with Soo-ah but you always knew dong-jae was gonna be her guy. the principal though, hate her for sure. lol. 

still enjoyable. can't believe how fast this drama seem to go by. it was definitely fun. 

i wish they'd stop putting RV with SNSD and Taeyeon and give them their OWN FREAKING variety show, i'm not even asking for something fancy. maybe watch how they practice, how they do more backstage stuff.

not even on a channel but in youtube (like got7's real got7) is a great way to get to know the girls better. even Twice that just debuted is having more "inside" stuff than RV. 

RV, has vocals, visuals, dncers, but korea also loves variety, we all know it.

I get what you mean, as you'll want more of a RV fix. a variety show or anything would be fun. The V App has been great for some filling in the gap of as close to a reality experience. 

My friend and I were talking about we needed a Red Velvet show or program to keep us occupied between promotions. These shows can be dangerous though; Like I used to only know A-Pink via Eunji and Naeun. But watching all of A-pink News season 1-3, and Apink showtime, it's like... I find A-Pink totally endearing. Like now it's like, man this group is fun. Bomi is a hoot! Chorong is straight up weird, but it's okay. lol. I think going through idol members charms and personalities is what really appeals to fans in the Kpop world. So something for Red Velvet would be nice. Like how we had Apink News. SNSD had Girls Go To School, and that was amazing. 

But the daily doses of Pics and Gifs seem to do well enough for now. For now... lol

I never saw School 2015 so i'm not clued in on that. 

but i caught up on the episodes today while on the stair master. 

it's moving along, and enjoying it so far, just those evil adults. Not sure how they are trying to build the love triangle. 

We already know who is friendzoned and he's looks as I've said to be gonna have some connection to Soo Ah. 

They keep humanizing her when they get a chance, she's still a b*tch, but she's supposed just as messed up as anyone. like she's evil, but they want you to accept her evil. 

The adults on the otherhand, just pure evil. lol. now to play the waiting game... 

This drama is coming along nicely. Still entertained and enjoying it. It is developing fast. Be over before we know it. With the way episode 4 went, we can expect them to do some actual teamwork soon, maybe see some cheering. The principal did force them into a performance. as stated earlier, lots of bromance going on. yeon doo however, well she doesn't have a female bestie anymore.. awww. it's nice how they try to humanize everyone a bit so you can try to understand them a bit. but you still hate them for who they or what they done. principal still hate cuz i don't have any reason to believe she could stop half the stuff going on if she had any backbone or decent educator fiber in her. I'm sure they'll try to humanize her soon, to show us she isn't all that bad.. but i'm not sure anything can sway me on her. 

Still confused about Dongjae... because we got the flashback, he sent a kid to the hospital. But i'm lost on the translation of his actual 'disability'. and I only use that word because that's what was said in the drama via my translated source. I mean at first I thought he had a bone density issue, which was why he refused to play defense download because maybe he'll break or something. I thought it was a purely medical disability. I mean, if his issue is a type of PSTD/psychology issue, we prolly shouldn't call it a disability. I was really thrown off because of my meaning of disability is different. I would consider his situation a 'condition'. Is his problem human contact in general? And it sends him into a panic attack? I'm not trying to downplay whatever he has, I'm just trying to understand it. I been an EMT, so I understand some medical stuff, and I got friends who came back from Iraq and the Stan, so I understand PTSD somewhat. He got bearhugged (fouled) in a basketball game, he freaked out, and went to the nurse. What did the nurse say? He wasn't physically hurt, so do they know he has a condition and treated accordingly for a panic/anxiety attack? His buddies kicked him off the team after, so it must have spread by now (given how that school operates, there must not be a lot of secrets). I guess everyone's no. 1 b*tch is gonna be the one that somehow 'fixes' his 'condition'. And that will be a sort of love-line for them. 

just started this drama, been anticipating it forever, for obvious reasons. 

so far, i've enjoyed it. I'm not normally into high school dramas, I think it's because I wont ever enjoy teenage angst like i did when Buffy the vampire slayer was around, and that cuz it's been so long since i was in school. lol.

I can definitely see a lot of angst going on in the drama. i can sense a lot of people are gonna love Dongjae, second lead syndrome is strong with him. You wanna love real kings in this drama, and it plays off the typical elitist/haves and have nots found several school dramas. but it's enjoyable. There are cringy moments, but not horrible. lol Can't wait for the new episodes where they actually start at this and see how the conflicts are gonna be played.
