What's really sad is that YG isn't even including the girls as features anymore. Like at least we got something back then, now it's just a couple of pictures here and there. :/ I mean we got that Hanna feature and then he announces that she's out. Just put Jennie or Chaeyoung in one of Winner's upcoming songs please.

I really didn't know about this. But did they really shop for demos or were the songs made for him? The problem with buying demos is that the ones k-pop gets are usually rejects from western artists, and you can't really make a cohesive album with them.

The twice outfit concept was gorgeous, although I think our girls are going for something darker. I actually don't mind the usual "hip-hop" concept as long as it doesn't go the GD route. Lord no to buying demos. That's the main aspect YG differs from other k-pop companies. I think the problem might be that he's pushing idols way hard to write and compose songs, he needs a new GD but the reality is that there probably won't be one. Either that or the in-house producers have lost their hard.

PSY's release makes me want to believe again take away the jokes and it's actually quite nice, but then PSY is really not controlled at all by YG so idk if that relates.

And Twice is a bad example in that since their debut album is quite disappointing... The reason I "stan" for this group without even knowing which members are in is because I trusted YG when he first announced them that they would have the music quality of YG releases. But now YG is messing up the one thing they've always gotten right: the music.

I said you are delusional for not accepting that YG was unhappy with their debut, which he literally stated in some interviews or whatever saying they are going back to studio to work on better songs. And tbh he wasn't exactly wrong because they didn't just debut without any hype, they were promoted for over a year before even releasing a song. I'd actually not mind a mid-tempo as long as it has a great beat and choreography. He would never risk to taint Jisoo's reputation putting her with PSY. He's building her up with a girl next door image and PSY goes against that. Jennie could work, but it's also risky since she already got her hate-wagon in place. Besides, if they didn't appear in iKON's MVs, I don't think we'll see them anywhere else :(

If iKON's debut had gone how YG wanted, they wouldn't have delayed it, reworked on it, etc. wake the fuck up sis. Don't be a blind stan just because you like them. Sorry if you feel offended but how do I not have the right to criticize their SONGS or promotion strategy? That is NOT bashing. And iKON's debut is pertinent to this group's thread since they're next in line (at least I hope so), and they'll have the same producers, choreographers, etc. Everything that's happening with iKON and YG in general might as well be the fate of this group. The only people who don't mind the rehashed songs are BB stans who were starving for new music and part of the GP who will eat up anything BB puts out. An album/songs that were promised for so many years end up being all mellow and same-y is the definition of underwhelming. About the promotion strategy, yeah YG figured that concerts are the way to make real money in k-pop which is probably why he doesn't care anymore about releasing music. But he's forgetting that what brings people to the arenas IS great music, especially UPBEAT music.

I mean, I get that korea eats up ballads and mid-tempos but if it's not gonna be better than Come Back Home or Eyes Nose Lips than I think it's time to change it up. The one that bothers me the most is Bang Bang Bang though, it has such a perfect beat, tempo, verses overall, and then the chorus destroys the song. I don't get how nobody dared to actually say something when they were in studio. Maybe the solution for YG is less freedom to the idols. And now we have k-pop star again... YG will probably pick up yet another artist while Lee Hi hasn't even had a comeback in the last 2 years. At least psy is getting out of the way soon

that's not even it. they don't even have much to handle, there seems to be no reason for the company to be this messy. I mean, YG was never as "fast" as other companies, but the last couple of years have been a joke. and that old excuse that they need time to "work on good songs" is no cutting since all the releases this year have been on a scale of underwhelming to garbage.
