  1. YG included CL in the line-up of releases for the second half of the year, officially posted in YG-Life.
  2. Bom's comeback is finally confirmed next month and Dara has a featuring in one of her songs. There couldn't be a greater news.
  3. Couldn't be a mistranslation as it's nowhere in the original YG-Life article. Probably an insider info/rumor. Still hoping anyway.
  4. Thumbs up. Not only that, it's also consistent with how he formed teams for challenges in the YG Treasure Box show.
  5. While that may be true, they're not totally ruled out despite their names not being mentioned in the article. YG said "artists including WINNER and iKON," not just "WINNER and iKON" so there is still some hope (no matter how little) that Lee Hi, One (and Suhyun) have something planned for them this year. You can't compare Treasure 13 with MOBB. MOBB is a different ballgame: it's a collaboration of rappers between two distinct groups.
  6. I thought it would take far longer, but I didn't know it would only take three years to see the girls (well, except Dara since it's for her) in one video again. I got teary-eyed watching it, couldn't be happier. 2019 already started on a good note, and I hope it will be a better year for all the girls. I always wish they didn't disband and are still releasing music. Always. Of course, they will disband eventually, but the way they disbanded was just the greatest injustice that ever happened. One of the best, if not the best, Kpop girl group, tossed aside and treated like they weren't - which is why it's still too damn hard to move on. I guess I can take comfort in the notion that YG will probably never be able to make another group on par with 2NE1's level of stage presence, individuality and music quality. This is not to say that I'm hoping future YG girl groups will not be as talented, not at all; it's just that 2NE1 really set the standard very high for me.
  7. Minimum of four, maximum of six - technically speaking. Indeed. I don't think anyone is very happy with the news of an EP, but it's YG, the best one can pray for is that he sticks with the schedule.
  8. Imagine misinterpreting "will not encourage" to "not allowed." You don't need to be a proficient English speaker to know that the two words, "encourage" and "allow" have totally different definitions. Not to mention that the YG-Life translation tackles the statement more clearly: Sometimes my ultra-cynical self thinks that some fans just purposely make up shit to incite hatred for YG. The man is hateable enough, there's no need to fuel the hate further with false crap.
  9. When I said that it would be cool if YG continued the naming tradition combining numbers and letters, I asked for something similar to 2NE1, 1TYM and Se7en - not Treasure 13. C'mon man. At least he gave the second lineup the cooler name. That aside, it feels great to have the 13-member boy group finally confirmed. Can't believe I'm actually liking this direction considering that I generally don't like groups with many members. Also btw, "Treasure Makers" for fanclub name, seriously? Lazy. Very, very, very lazy.
  10. So it's pretty obvious that Treasure is the entire 13-member lineup. This is something new for YG and it's refreshing. The new girl group will most probably follow the same path. I'm honestly very excited for what's to come. I hope do they release the song officially as well. Make it a pre-release single ala iKON's My Type. If they bring back the iconic robotic voice, it'll be greater.
  11. Apart from being publicly shamed, this dingus should also be fired from his job immediately. Sickening that he's an airport employee. Who knows how many women he has sexually harassed already.
  12. I doubt there's sexual meaning behind it. I'm speaking from an Ilonggo (Iloilo Province) perspective. Celebrities have never and won't get that nasty kind of reception/overreaction here. There may be some promdis mixed in there, but I don't doubt that majority are Manilenos. Like I said, not all Manilenos act that way and it's good that they're also the ones putting the disrespectful fans in their place.
  13. Not to generalize my fellow Filipinos, but Manilenos/Tagalogs (people of the capital city Manila and neighboring cities) more often than not fall into fanatic obsession when it comes to celebrities. In my local regional language we call this behavior as "manol" or "buki." I don't know what's the proper English word for it, but I think it can be best described as extreme reaction to seeing/interacting with celebrities in person. For us Filipinos outside Metro Manila and Luzon in general, Manilenos are a laughingstock whenever they display such a behavior on TV, but here it's just painfully embarrassing. Outright uncultured. Not all Manilenos act like this of course, but to see such vulgarity from so many fans at the airport paints a very bad picture of the kind of fans the Filipinos are, even when they only represent a very tiny fraction of us.
  14. Man, this is awesome. What a very pleasant surprise. I didn't expect Yoshinori to be revealed at all, since I was expecting Keita (I feel very sad for him, he's great) but Yoshinori is good, too.
  15. Weren't fans clamoring for YG to release the selection criteria last week? What's so strange about him doing it now lol.
  16. That's what I got out of that statement. People should really stop freaking out about everything. First, the dcgall rumor and now this.
  17. There's more to be optimistic about especially after the Vlive special cam yesterday. The guys were happy and comfortable with each other in total contrast to the prior speculation that they're awkward as a group based on their first Vlive show. There were plenty of precedents made, so it's not like my judgment was without basis.
  18. Since we're going to have two rappers, I think Keita is already a shoe-in for the second group. He has totally proven himself in the show, and his duo performance of Really with Yedam (one of the best performances in YGTB) is where he has shone the most. Really is one of my favorite BLACKPINK songs, and Keita's rap lines sprinkled a whole new flavor to the song which I didn't think was possible and turned out to be something I immensely enjoy and love every time I watched their performance of it. Add to that a nice singing voice and you've got yourself a winner.
  19. Yeah, I was just really mad when I saw it that I couldn't help myself. I was in the clouds after Mashiho's reveal and that post dampened my mood. Anyway, moving on.
  20. Here we go again with believing rumors... People just never learn I guess.
  21. Oh, definitely. Add to that the doomsday predictions that Treasure and the brother group won't succeed just as much as TXT would, the pessimistic outlook is already damning.
