  1. I think we all know that Irene was in the wrong and she has apologized. The only other thing she can do is keep taking time away while demonstrating that she’s making a conscious change in her attitude to become a better person. Canceling her for an attitude problem is too far. Unlike other celebs who have been cancelled she did not commit a crime and what she did is far less serious than the real misconduct and abuse that other idols and celebs have dealt out.

All this has confirmed to me is that it doesn’t matter how popular or loved you are as an idol... it can all disappear in an instant. Imagine how careful you’d has to be. Hell I’d probably have been cancelled several times over if I were famous.

  2. It all comes down to their bedside manner. Certainly they need to be objective when it comes down to the diagnosis and treatment plan. But at the same time they need to be there to fight with the patient and lift them up when they’re at their most vulnerable. It’s a difficult balance but it’s not right to write folks off because their chances of survival looks poor on paper. Statistics are based on populations and there is value in those numbers but it doesn’t necessarily apply to the individual. There are many cases of individuals surviving what’s thought to be terminal illness... if those individuals gave up or encouraged to give up by their “caregivers” they wouldn’t even be here today. I can’t even begin to imagine what being a cancer patient is like but I’d imagine it to be even worse when you’re essentially left to die by people who are supposed to care for you.

  3. Love the MV teaser! Looks expensive af... that said I’m going to echo everyone’s concerns. I hope everyone gets their own killer parts. If this were a 9+ member group I would understand if one or two members don’t get to shine every comeback but there’s only 4 members in Aespa so I don’t think SM has an excuse.

  4. Oh mah gad... it’s finally happening after all these years of waiting. It’s such a bittersweet debut because the only SMRookies who made it is Ningx2. I’m so proud of her. And I would also like to congratulate the rest of the girls on debuting. It’s such a huge accomplishment considering how difficult it is to meet the SM standard.

One thing that I think is supercool is the fact that the foreign members aren’t just pretty faced backup dancers just to pull in fans from their respective countries. They’re like actual integral members to the team and thrive on their talent. Giselle is the main rapper and Ningx2 is the main vocalist. That alone sets them apart from lots of groups with foreign members.

  5. It’s kind of interesting that this is just blowing up now but when I started getting into Kpop and following Korean tv I noticed this right away. Like it’s always the same 10 people on every single variety show. The hosts themselves are on every other show as well. Not only that but it seems like I keep seeing the same actors in kdramas. It’s interesting because I look at American entertainment at the most a tv host is on like 2 shows at a time... and usually they’re only hosting one show. Moreover most of the celebrities here only go on tv every once in awhile. They don’t spend an entire season on a travel show while also being a jugdge on America’s got talent. Maybe it’s because America’s got a way larger population with a bigger entertainment industry? Anyway I’m not really annoyed by it like knetz. I just find it interesting.

No it is not enough of a punishment especially if you consider the fact that Mina attempted suicide. I wonder if you would have said the same thing if Mina didn't survive that. Jimin deserves to be bullied by the internet yes, it isn't even much compared to what she did to Mina for 10 YEARS. You reap what you sow. Whatever happens to her she'll deserve it.

And there it is... so much vindictive hatred towards someone you never even met. smh

You can have empathy for someone (understand their struggles) while lacking sympathy for them (because they're selfish, shitty people who don't care about others, so why should we care about them).

The only reasonable thing to do with toxic people is just to shun them. If afterwards they feel terrible because of being alone... well they had it coming. And it's the only way for them to actually learn.

Certainly. As a consequence of her actions Jimin has been dropped from AOA and her career in the entertainment industry is over. I’d say that’s enough of a punishment and it’s something that she will have to contemplate over for a long while. It took public pressure to make both her and FNC understand that this sort of behavior is not okay. And as a result she’s been appropriately punished. Yet there is still so much so much toxic and nasty comments against her. That really needs to end. Let’s not be the bullies that we despise.

We’ve seen far too many tragedies in the Kpop world in recent times. Not one more.

  8. This is a situation where everyone loses. Really hope Mina can find her peace after this. I don’t really know Jimin’s side of the story but she’s had battles with depression as well... I remember when she had some worrying posts on social media. It does not excuse her behavior but she’s suffering in her own way. Not going to speculate further than that. Tbh this is a private matter and honestly it’s none of our damned business. What I am really disgusted by are the horrible things said about her... she’s obviously in bad shape right now and I’m concerned that all this negativity may cause her to do something drastic. Please post something constructive instead of outright shitting on her. We are all human. Have some empathy.

  9. I don’t know about you guys but I am genuinely worried about Chungha. Someone close to her needs to reassure her that she is beautiful just the way she is. It absolutely is her own body and she can do what she wants, but I am really concerned that these procedures will eventually take their toll and permanently damage her face. I just feel so helpless watching her over the years. I’m afraid that she’ll regret it one day and it will be far too late. The thing that sucks is that it’s a downward spiral from here... the more ps she gets the greater the damage which means she’ll have to get even more ps just to keep up with younger and younger idols. She’s so accomplished, successful and popular. I really want her to be confident inside and out.
