I think Krystal's technique is better, while Amber's vocal range is better. When they debuted, Krystal's wasn't good either, but she improved a lot since ES. IMO, singing-wise, she's surpasses Amber since Pink Tape.

 

I don't think @cloudberry expected Amber to sound as great as TY/Luna. She's probably just saying Amber has the capability to reach their level with more vocal training. Which I agree. I think, no matter how much vocal training for Krystal and Queen Vic, they won't be able to reach Luna's level, but for Amber, it is possible.

I guess we just have to agree to disagree with the whole Krystal/Amber thing technique wise.

Hmmm... not sure where you guys are getting the idea that Amber has the capability to from being a alright-ish singer to becoming great ? Not saying that she can't improve but I just think you guys are perhaps expecting too much ?

Amber and Krystal are on par technique wise. Both are weak singers but it's their vocal colours that saves them. Amber can be inconsistent but I think it's due to the lack of training she has received. Krystal can be just as lacking sometimes tbh. Their differences are just not worth mentioning imo since their both not the greatest. I like both their vocal colours and think that they sound great as long as they stay in their vocal range, which they do most of the time.

Also, I don't understand why @cloudberry expected Amber to sound as great as Taeyeon/Luna for the singing part in STB, when it's out of her range and even Luna sometimes struggles to hit the note correctly. I personally thing Amber did a good job trying to make it her own without basically screaming to hit that note.

I gave up on watching season 2 (but i put it in the background sometime) but this totally makes sense. Especially given the sponsorships she may be getting, a wider push with beauty products makes sense... I just wish if that were the case her team could put it out on other sources (Naver TV or something) since the editing quality is too high for a for a normal Youtuber but it'd feel less "genuine" otherwise I guess.

 

She's also been doing way more beauty based variety over the last year-year and a half so this being the focus fits in line with how they are trying to position her.

I agree that the editing is above average for YT, but a lot of the Korean comments always mention how much more approachable/relatable/friendly Luna seems. They also appreciate that the products she recommends are actually in a decent price range and I think this ,along with Luna's personality, make her content more down to earth.

I think SM and CJ E&M are testing the waters and want expand more into the whole YT/live broadcast streaming(?) industry since it's become so lucrative in recent years.

 

 

 

 

Same. I think that the concept for season 2 was a real flop. I think it shows in the viewings per episode also.

 

Actually season 2 is doing much better than season 1. In season one her most viewed videos always included f(x) or other SM acts. Her beauty content is getting attention from korean non-fans (check the comment section). Recently, she uploaded old content such as the busking and the mukbang bts stuff and that actually slowed down her views/subbies count. I'd love to see her do everyday stuff but the beauty content is really working out for her. I think it's great that she's diversifying her fansbase since she obviously can't rely on international fans.

This was my f(x) wishlist for 2016 that I made back in January ! It's interesting looking back which wishes became true lol I made some comments in bold and crossed out the wish that came true.
 

Since I forgot to do the end year f(x) thread thingy I'm just going to make a simple wishlist for 2016 :

Victoria
- Continue her blooming career in China
- I'm hoping to genuinely enjoy at least on of her acting works Maybe next year lol 
- join the girls more often because I don't like seeing f(3) (still not used to it) (Kinda happened but nor really since that wasn't group stuff to be begin with lol)
- I'd be really interested to see a short documentary about her life  I remember seeing one early this year that summairsed her career

Amber
-Release her first full album which is met with at least some moderate success 
- Pick a title track that showcases her talents
- Join a variety show so that she stays in the eyes of the fickle Korean public and so that she can continue improving her Korean
- More solo performance to build her stage presence and confidence
- SM not to drop the ball and continue with the great promos she had   
- Direct a video for her solo works and for f(x)  Borders, OMO, NFL and All Mine !!!!
- Maybe write some songs for other artists too ? She wrote Letting Go but that was back in 2015

Luna
- Her children's movie to become a box office hit lol
- Release a mini album that really shows her emotional side even though I'd be really stoked to see her do a R&B/ dance number  This really describes the Free Somebody EP pretty well lol
- a SUCCESSFUL OST on a POPULAR drama please
- do some colloaborations with non-SM acts  Last time I checked "It was Love" by Zico ft Luna outsold 4walls (bcs of Zico's brand though lol)
- Go on some variety shows so that people don't forget about her and so that she build some connections 

Krystal
- Release a photobook instead of doing a million photoshoots with the same aesthetic. She loves to travel so it'd be cool if she could take pics in different countries Didn't happen
- Do movies rather than dramas She did shoot a movie, but will it ever see the light of the day ? 

f(x)
- Successful concert that will make fans cry
- The 5th album to be even better than 4 Walls
- Go on a Asia tour or at least go on a a Chinese fanmeet tour so that Lunber can also get some of the yuan ;p
- Continue bringing it on stage  Was overall happy with their stage presence especially Lunber's this year
- Change stylists STILL NEEDS TO HAPPEN !!!!! ESPECIALLY FOR AMBER !!!

Sulli
- successful movie(s) We'll have to see how Real turns out 
- act in a a tvn drama ( good scripts) Funny that Amber did one instead...with a crappy script. I feel like I jinxed her
- I'd love for her to do a photobook too but I'd rather have build up her popularity and garner some more positive press first ....Hmmm maybe next year lol

Songs: All Night, Signal, X, Snapshot and maybe When I'm alone
Stage: I'd love a Jazz Bar/Disco combined. The bar would be in the back the dancefloor would be in the centre with a huge disco ball lol

Outfits: Would basically be the wardrobe they used for All Night with improved outfits for Amber

When i scroll down the user who attends the concert and post here twitter for fanacc, in a post, i saw a reply to not call Vic "omma" because she didn't like it. Is this true? When did she said it?

I mean, if she indeed did, shouldn't we stop calling her it despite our view for her?

She said it in an interview back in 2010/2011 once. She didn't say she hated it but prefers nicknames like Vic baby. I think back than she felt like it highlighted the age difference between the girls and her and didn't like. She was fine with the members calling her Umma though. She never brought it up again.

 

 

Luna's alphabet ep was soooo much fun. The songs all sounded so amazing. She was really getting along well the with people.

I couldn't stop laughing when she said "What's good" with so much attitude, it completely changed the meaning lol.

I know she recorded the ep months ago because I saw pics floating around. I wonder when she's going to release the songs.
