Hello, completely brand new to the forums here at hallyu, but wanted to weigh in here. I was very interested in this drama because, prior to it's launch, the kdrama-verse was all buzzing about this being "the most highly anticipated k-drama ever". Being that I enjoyed LeeMinHo in City Hunter very much (bought that on DVD!) I too was eager to see him again in Heirs (+kang min hyuk was so hot in Heartstrings). But it took me like four episodes to get hooked......I think how long it took them to get from California to korea was filled with a lot of empty space that wasn't essential to the storyline. Sidebar ->Ya know what?1! I'm still not entirely clear on why it is Kim Tan was "banished" to attend school in USA from the get-go.
I saw there was some talk about the sexist attitude the writer is portraying the male characters......I detected that too; not happy about it; it can be extreme at times. I really just wanted Eun Sang to bitch-slap a lot more people than just Rachael. My friend and I kept shouting at the screen....."cha eun sang be stronger, tell him how you feel, dont take that crap, dont go there.....he's setting you up!!. dont be such a wuss, etc). Just WAITING for this character to grow some strength.....but I guess that's really not how it's gonna be,eh? I felt her character could have been so much more besides the object of Tan's affections. Writing= moderate, Acting however is Excellent!! i just take Heir's imperfections with a grain of salt. Yes, I wanted Cha Eun Sang to be stronger; yes, I wanted Lee Min Ho to give Kim Tan more than 1 facial expression this whole series; yes, I wanted Yoon Chan Young, Lee Hyo Shin, and Myung Soo to be in a secret gay love triangle to give it a spicy sub-plot But we all can't have our Lee Min Ho and eat it too. I'm going with the flow and hoping Kim Tan finds a way to wind up with Eun Sang, his mom get a good home, and Young Do finds a way not to be miserable by the End (i'm through ep17 btw)
