  1. Looks like mentioning Hyorin is going to be a freaking bomb trigger like mentioning Jimin in the season 1 thread.
  2. Ash/Gilme or the last group were the best overall. I like Ash's verse the most but at the same time i wasn't keeping up with the roster and was just ecstatic to find out that she was in this so maybe it's the bias. Kitti did good but Heize kinda brought down the performance. Seemed nervous. Sua and Yezi are going to be threats.
  3. Personally Love Options>Excuse Me>Pitapat>>TYVM>Hot Baby>I Need You but i don't really dislike any of them.
  4. Can someone recommend me some darker series or thriller dramas? Lots of doom and gloom looming around maybe with a hint of mystery too? I know they exist. There's a few every year, but i haven't been in the loop :(  Stuff like Shark, IRIS, I Miss You, two weeks etc
  5. I dunno, I think I'd consider BESTie+EXID a lot more likely than 2pm or db5k. Maybe an end of the year special stage or something. Unlike those other groups, the original EXID split didn't have any weird secret scandals or lawsuits behind it. S.Tiger and YNB splitting up is a pretty straightforward explanation. Not much juicy drama there even though some people like to make some out of it. DB5k and 2PM had more complications like network blocking, lawsuits, rumors of betrayal and other members hinting at it. And even after all this time we don't know the real stories or politics behind the splits. I'm just happy BESTie and EXID seem to be on good terms and are able to promote on the same stage tbh.
  6. it's legit and awesome. I got Hot Baby signed last year and a badge
  7. i still wanna know the instrumental Cheetah used in the 3 way battle with jimin/jidam.
  8. Not necessarily. I mean we also feel things from an acapella right? (no producer) Spoken words have their own emotion behind them that may or may not connect you. It's just personal. It doesn't have to be a performance either because you can feel something from a recorded track. Production and a live performance can add to the experience, but I wouldn't say they're mandatory to connecting on a personal level.
  9. Oh boy. Kind of hard to answer this kind of question without going on a tangent or typing an essay. I'll try to keep it short. I agree with the person who said that. Even in English I think a lot of people miss out what's actually going on in a song. Sometimes you REALLY have to analyze the lyrics to "get it". For example, it's amazing how many people were unironically blasting Kendrick's Swimming Pools are a drinking game anthem when it's actually the damn opposite of one. Also, in another language, we're very limited even if we attempt analyze rhymes (which btw we can't recognize the complex ones like multis and internals) and flow, because hip hop is expression through poetry, we're just not getting the full package. Even if you read a translation (from someone who not only speaks the language but also "gets it" ) it's not the same since you're not feeling what they wanted you to at the moment you heard it. With that being said, I still don't judge khiphop completely different from what's in my native tongue. I just leave half of it out to an extent. I would usually factor: Lyricism, Flow, Personality, Substance. i'm just more lenient because I believe lyricism and substance are harder to judge. So I put more on the other two and how they make me feel instead. Flow- I do weigh flow very heavily. No matter what language it's in, it's very easy to spot someone off rhythm. Not much to say honestly. It's either you can or you can't. Personality- Personality is important. I don't mean stage presence either. I mean making me recognize instantly that it's your turn when you're on the the track. No offense to any Jolly V fans but that's the problem I have with her. I hear her and nothing sets her apart aside from her kinda deep voice. When I hear Cheetah I envision daggers. Everything she says is powerful and cuts deep. You have to stop what you're doing when you hear her or else you might lose your head. On flipside chill personalities are good to convey too. Personally, I don't care for him much but you always know Snoop when you hear him on a track. A good personality doesn't necessarily have to be sharp. Just a way to establish your own presence. Substance- A good lyricist has a skill with putting words together but what's the point if the words aren't really meaning anything? Substance, in this context is the ability to use lyricism to put together a coherent and cohesive rap. So yes, this is another thing that has to be looked at via translation if you don't speak the language. However unlike Lyricism it's easier a bit easier to follow. Are they telling a story? are they just popping off? are they talking a social issue? Getting a point across is substance. So yeah, that's pretty much how I base my judgments. We're definitely disadvantaged, but I don't really think there's a for sure right way to judge. Some people care a lot for tone...personally you'll never convince me that it matter much haha. I think there's a certain extent where our standards for rappers eventually overlap with each other (it's definitely crazy to say Minho is a better rapper than Tiger JK for example) but overall because music is just another of many subjective forms of art, it's just a matter of preference. So much for keeping it short...
  10. the show is pretty derpy. might as well just enjoy the performances and ignore everything else tbh
  11. CJ E&M owns the MNET channel. Jimin's company FNC is one of many CJ E&M subsidiaries. It's not too farfetched to presume the favoritism might also have to do with San E trying extra hard to please a few corporate old people up stairs.

  13. I liked it too. Nothing wrong with being turnt lol
  14. Yeah, I thought eliminating someone randomly in the middle was dumb too. I heard other people who shared the sentiment back then, but I'd guess there's a bigger uproar now because Tymee was more well-received than Lil Cham (who was written off by many as a walking meme) and like you said she did have the best performance that day, so it just seems extra random. It's not all bad though. She got some publicity, enjoyed the experience, and now she can get back to working on music I'm glad i'm not the only one who didn't think Jace was awful. I felt like the editing tried too hard to make her seem worse than what she is. She's not special or anything but the MNET agenda was for her to seem like total cannon fodder.
  15. I agree but you can say that about every challenge on this show and none of them were as poorly executed as this one. The fact that it was double elim is just icing on the cake.
  16. The ep 6 challenge was a flawed concept anyway. Let's allow half of the cast to form a duo with their best friends then judge everyone's performances based on synergy because that's a great way to judge rapping skill. Of course Tymee and Cheetah's teams were screwed from the start. Jessi/Jidam and Kisum/Jimin were the "OTPs" the show was pushing all season. If you weren't paired with your best friend you were at a disadvantage even if you were Tymee and had the best verse in the whole episode. I'll miss Tymee but at least it looked like she had fun on this stupid scripted show lol. And I think she gained a lot of new fans too so it all worked out.
  17. I can't wait too but It looks like a mini-album. http://hgc.bestiz.net/zboard/view.php?id=ghm2&page=2&sn1=&divpage=20&sn=off&ss=on&sc=off&select_arrange=headnum&desc=asc&no=128011 [수ë¡ê³¡ ì •ë³´] 1. ì´ìƒí•˜ë‹¤ ì°¸ (Feat. ì¹¸í† of 트로ì´) 2. ë‚˜ë„ ì—¬ìžì—ìš” 3. 18. But just because someone disses you it doesn't mean you have to respond. This isn't like Pac and Biggie or Nas/Jay. This is more like when Game talked mad shit about Jay Z, mentioning him in interviews, dissed him in a LOT of songs and Jay still wasn't going to give Game the time of day because he knew he was on another level and had nothing to gain by putting Game in his place. The difference is that Tymee can't be Jay situation because she's on a reality show pressuring her to dignify Jolly (Game) with a response even though she has made it clear that it was not want she wanted to do. Tymee has said lots of times that she's avoiding Jolly V because she doesn't think it's fair that she can leech off her popularity and that she's above her. Yeah dissing is normal in rap culture we know, but there's nothing wrong with wanting to pick your battles either.
  19. Agreed. While i'm sure Tymee knew they were going to make it happen eventually, it just seemed kinda lame and distasteful that the PDs would force it so hard when she obviously didn't want to do it there.
  20. Wow we got a whole new Kisum this week. Jolly V really woke her up.
