I love how she throws up her finger at the end, too -
And why? Sometimes I feel like I post more threads like "Rant", "Random", "Unpopular Opinion" than anywhere else...because I have no friends to talk to but my mouth doesn't know that and just keeps moving

people love a truthful "savage" as long as the person is saying something with which they agree. But as soon as a truthful "savage" comes along and says something they don't agree with, suddenly the savagery that they once appreciated is now "problematic". It's so cute when the savage is on your side taking shots but when you get hit by a stray bullet, it ain't cute anymore?

Hwang Chiyeul just posted a racist meme
delirium replied to My Everything's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
I scrolled down and saw his face and clothes and hands covered in the same dark substance. Was he doing a skit about blacks and covered his body or did he get dirty and thought that he looked like the emoji character and posted it. That's why I said I don't have context. One context hits too close to home with blackface, the other context, I couldn't care less about. -

....and then they fired him because he wasn't "right" for the direction of the book they were following. Uh, what part of the book is that? bc from what we hear, you ain't hardly following the book, at all. Shame when you outplay the main characters of the show and still get the boot without an actual explanation.

I don't think a Korean article would typically delve into information about the severity of someone's diagnosis in this regard, it would cause her more harm than good. I'm...cautious concerning healthcare, in general, and specifically when it involves people's mental health AND definitely when it involves minorities due to what we know concerning everything from diagnosis to the experimental nature of prescriptions and treatments given to certain groups. I mean, Psychology, as a profession, is still so subjective that professionals have repeatedly published articles, reviews, reports, and the like, complaining about the subjectivity of the field-and this is what we base a lot of our prognosis and diagnosis on in regards to helping people. It just bugs me and many others have noticed that people seem to care a lot about specific things that make headlines and anything else often gets pushed aside, disregarded, and it almost becomes taboo to discuss, even in the community and even to our healthcare providers. This article is an example, many skipped completely over her depression concerning her sexuality which caused her to have surgery in the first place, it played a major role in her decision. I figured it was normal to wonder about her current state of mind, how she's handling her surgery, her treatment, IF she can get treatment considering she received surgery in Thailand, how the army will handle her training, her lodging, her personal healthcare items that may or may not be allowed...and I get that it makes me seem strange but I feel it's better to ensure a person's whole being is well rather than just fulfilling their momentary wish and not considering anything else.

"...to spend on future disasters." there won't be a future if you don't help solve this this disaster. However, when ppl donate, charities now present a graphical representation of how donations are used and distributed, and they inform ppl that some of the donations are used on things like marketing, awareness, supplies, promotion, storage supplies and ish. I wonder if this has already been shown on their public data.

Dear Lord, Koreans thinking these random plaits automatically represent a cultural style for African Americans is a mess. Knetz don't even know the difference between dreads, braids, twa, cornrows, box braids, protective styles, hair types, coils, density, etc...because instead of just telling them about this stuff and simply clearing up any misunderstanding, someone decided to pull the appropriation argument when no appropriation was occurring. You think Koreans know that blacks weren't just fired for wearing natural hair but it was an actual law that black women had to cover their head and couldn't wear their hair in its natural state? That wearing dreads can still get my brother fired at certain companies no matter how hard he works and how much money he makes them? You think Koreans know that when people tried to present stores with products that helped AA hair and skin, they were ignored? And to this day, it has had an effect on how the community takes care of hair and skin??? Like...a lot of N. Americans don't even know this and we aren't even trying to educate them. N. America is where blacks are suffering because of 400+ years of misinformation spread about blacks, even getting gunned down in the street because of all the lies that have been spread, so how are people going to tell Koreans they're appropriating a culture with which most haven't had any meaningful interaction when the country in which the appropriation started doesn't even understand.

No m8, I wasn't stating that all trans people are depressed. The article actually says that the soldier had the surgery and was depressed, so I wasn't making a general assumption since my response was only in relation to that case and those like it. And unless depression is mild, from a hormonal imbalances or social causes that trigger mild psychological distress, depression can't be alleviated enough just from hormone treatment or surgery, alone. In fact, various studies show that hormone therapy can be one factor in increased occurrences of depression. Not to mention surgery can also be very expensive and incredibly invasive. Surgery combined with long-term hormone treatment (many of which only reduces, slows, decreases but not fully stops processes) that ranges from small to absolute risks, in general, the affect on the body and mind is still being questioned. On top of the fact that trans research was cut in its infancy, well-being will always be cause for concern. The feelings often goes both ways, many people who have dealt or deal with dysphoria also grow tired of being pushed into thinking that transitioning is the only viable solution, both by people who are fine with their biology and by trans people who have transitioned, and that everything's perfectly fine after we've done it-when, in many cases, not only can more issues arise after years have passed but research that has been conducted indicates that most people come to terms with who they are w/o transitioning.

You're right, things get very tricky when it comes to stalking cases but it seems as if things are always tricky when it comes to crimes that affect women more than men...stalking, rape, domestic abuse, etc. The answer that they give you is always: "we're doing all we can", and it's been that same statement for decades. Justice systems around the world have been urged to do more for stalking cases for many years, esp. when looking at cases that involve violence and the presence of stalking being involved. The case is enough to involve police escorts but not enough to remove the suspect...

Depression over sexual identity lead the person to have reassignment surgery, the first thing that needs to happen, asap, is counseling. Emotional turmoil doesn't simply dissipate, especially if it's related to depression because it's a neurological issue. Post-surgery issues can make people feel even worse, so as heroic as it is to serve one's country, this soldier needs to serve and take care of self first.

I realize and accept that it doesn't matter how many facts, undeniable pieces of evidence, history lessons, and so on, that you give to some people, they will only believe what they want to believe and ignore everything else - even when they persist in asking you for facts. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and opinions make the world interesting; but FK ME when the same people complain every other bloody day about everyone else being wrong or ignorant or stupid or morons...when they've literally just pissed on something like centuries of actual historical facts simply because it didn't fit into their ideology. Why is it such a trend in the West to preach down to everyone else while knowing next to nothing about a subject? And why do people keep hailing misinformed people as intellects when a 1st grader Google search is all it takes to prove them wrong? im.so.confused.
