Americans complain about East Asian netizens overreactions, cancellations, and pc/conservatism A LOT but our social media is becoming just like theirs, we ain't learn nothing, yet. We're still ready to crucify everything we don't like, activism and allies are almost like a joke, now, half of them speak OVER the community they claim to support and not with them; anyone with any kind of following can hardly take a breath without groups on social media bashing them for it. For instance, recently, a pretty popular American singer said that she gets really anxious and doesn't want fans forcing hugs on her during Meet & Greets...and people dragged her for it and were ready to cancel her for speaking up. Studies from medical organizations are discovering more serious links between the pressure people put on others through social media and development of mental health issues, like anxiety and depression. A vast variety of voices, from Obama to mental health organizations to news channels, has called out our 'cancel culture' and yet our generation still be like... "only problematics get dragged and canceled." "cancel/pc culture is all about people being checked for being bigots" "people just don't want to deal with the consequences of what they say" I guess her anxiety having arse is Prob.le.ma.tic. After all, people paying money entitled them to put their bodies on her. What kind of bigot doesn't want hugs???

the scariest part is that too many people have acted and implied things like this for years now-like after the voting debacle, the hate towards the older generation was at the point where even people on this site were saying they just wished they'd just go away because they ruin everything. so this doesn't surprise, me at all

The title sounds like something you might hear a health provider say as they try to say lives but noooooope. It's mostly us young people saying this; it's one thing to complain about the elder generations ruining our lives, it's another to try to kill the poor old people. "....Coronavirus pandemic doesn't slow spring breakers' party It's spring break and even a pandemic doesn't appear to be stopping some people's plans. As many Americans continue practicing social distancing to help curb the spread of the new coronavirus, videos and photos of spring breakers in Florida have poured in, showing many undeterred by the threat of COVID-19. "If I get corona, I get corona. At the end of the day, I'm not going to let it stop me from partying," spring break goer Brady Sluder told Reuters in Miami. As of Thursday morning, there are more than 9,000 reported cases of the virus in the United States killing at least 150 people. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advised people earlier this week to avoid gatherings of 10 or more people. Coronavirus live updates:China reports no new cases, US death toll reaches 150, 2 congressmen test positive Still, videos and photos of packed beaches have shown teens and young adults [suspected tourists] wading in the water, partying on the beach and otherwise going through with their travel plans even though restaurants and bars were closing. As the photos and videos have appeared, some iconic spring break locations have tried to stop the party. The city of Miami Beach closed South Beach until further notice. Fort Lauderdale closed its beaches, too. Clearwater said its beaches would close Monday. "It's really messing up with my spring break. What is there to do here other than go to bars or the beach? And they're closing all of it," a woman named Brianna Leeder said in a CBS News video. Data from the CDC indicate that fatalities from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, appear to be higher among older adults. Illnesses have ranged from mild, with some cases showing no symptoms, to severe. Older adults and people who have underlying medical conditions are at a higher risk for complications, the CDC says. However, younger people can still face serious complications. People ages 20 to 44 accounted for about 20% of U.S. cases that resulted in known hospitalizations, according to the CDC's preliminary data on the health outcomes of patients with COVID-19. The CDC said the data were limited and did not account for underlying medical conditions. Preliminary research has also suggested that those with the virus can infect others before becoming symptomatic, which has led to public health officials to urge social distancing. In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday closed bars and restricted restaurant occupancy to 50%. He also ordered a limit of 10 people at beach gatherings. "What are you thinking? Stop doing it. Now," Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., the state's former governor, urged beachgoers on CNN. Scott also said that state and local officials "ought to do everything they can to stop people from being on the beach." Including the spring break hot spots, other areas have closed beaches, beach parks or beach parking to try to keep people away, including Brevard, Walton, Collier and Lee counties, among others." sensitive content Seems like everyone is forgetting Epstein
delirium replied to lighterxx's topic in Current News & Events
Summary: you found nothing in my statements that back up your assertions. Epstein's actions link him to a multi-billion dollar business that's been called a human rights epidemic/crises/big business in the US by multiple entities, even the Senior Advisor for Human Trafficking in the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs in the US government. But I'm sure the government is generalizing the enormity of the issue. Everything from ICE to Polaris state that people misunderstand and underestimate the big business of trafficking, which results in a lack of awareness and action. But I'm sure the evidence gathered by these national and research organizations isn't actual evidence, it's just generalizations of how their country doesn't engage as much as they should. -

interesting take on my post, m8 " idk, I find that, for some reason, sexual violence against women and children ...." Where in that statement did you find the name Epstein? "these kinds of crimes..." Where in that statement do you see anything about his co-defendants? " doesn't always seem to resonate with the good ol' USA that claims to be all about human rights, progressiveness, and caring for women. " Where in that statement do you see me mention bringing people Epstein knows to justice simply due to their proximity? Seems like you painted my entire post with some nonsensically irrelevant strokes there when I established the subject of my post in the first sentence. -

indeed, at least I know what to expect in some places who never pretend to care in the first place. -

idk, I find that, for some reason, sexual violence against women and children doesn't always seem to resonate with the good ol' USA that claims to be all about human rights, progressiveness, and caring for women. Even w/o the corona, it's always easy for people to kind of brush these crimes off, once they're not in headlines. -
Anger in Germany at report Trump seeking exclusive vaccine deal

the fact that so many of us don't bother to fact check the most basic of information....just like Trump -
I dl'd but I hate the inflexibility of controls that comes with mobile games like this, so I haven't actually tried it, yet.

trying to listen to certain American news channels talk the Corona virus will give you a migraine. a literal migraine. It's like listening to a group of high school students sit at a lunch table gossiping...or maybe that's just what I get for trying to listen to CNN. And there's no way I'm even going near FOX.

AO3 is banned on China, rabid fans are the reason
delirium replied to lighterxx's topic in Current News & Events
Ah, I see. Having wrote my fair share of things, it's unfathomable to me that authors with huge works don't have any back-ups. Usually the fanbase follows the authors name across platforms because authors tend to keep it the same so that their fans can easily identify them. I heard Ao3 also caught drama because they don't have a ban on using real people names and photos like other fanfiction sites did. And real underage actors are written into works involving sexual situations with adults. This heat was probably a long-time coming. -

AO3 is banned on China, rabid fans are the reason
delirium replied to lighterxx's topic in Current News & Events
Doesn't China tend to eventually crack down on popular non-Chinese entities, anyway, in an attempt to promote their own-which is why other Chinese sites that host fanfics are still up? Though fanfiction is always a touchy subject when you take real people and write sexual stories about them. AO3 is cool but...between everything from like tentacle porn to dragon non-con tags...it's replaceable.
