it's always odd how "fans" will torment someone but then point the finger and claim that someone or something made them act like this : It's like, 'yea I tried to ruin someone's life but only because reading something on social media made me into a horrible person....I didn't actually do anything wrong because my brain doesn't work independently from others, it's other people's fault'. Here's a thought, if you don't like a celebrity for subjective reasons, just stop paying attention and move on. It feels like Kpop constantly fluctuates within a short span of time. I think those were the days when idols were encouraged to start being a little more "real" and act their age. They didn't get picked apart by just talking to the opposite sex in a variety show, showing a more mature image, acknowledging that they cuss, drink, watch porn, shoving food down their throats, making mistakes on shows, being goofy, being the butt of jokes, etc. And that type of image was reflected in their music, which also became more mature without being "tryhard" and started to cater to individuals (male and female) who were closer to the idols' actual age. Beast idol and girl crush was really starting to slap around this time. Some idols started putting on more "adult" concerts. Messages in songs started shifting. Now I feel like idols are encouraged to be more creative and really show their skills but still present this perfect and larger than life image, so you don't get that same mature concept, but you get unique concepts and fun concepts.

So streaming services are the new Straight to Video/Straight to DVD of our generation? Streaming services are fire so why does that still feel embarrassing somehow?

I don't know what's more terrifying, the fact that he won't be punished by a system that masquerades as justice or the fact that he won't be punished because prostitution rings and sex trafficking reach top levels of business, governments, entertainment, and economies, so it's unlikely that proper diligence will ever be exerted in cases where women and children are victims of sex crimes. It's still possible for people to like two entities where one entity disliking the other seems to be a default emotion: people with divorced parents who hate each other manage to love them both. One parent complains about the other but it doesn't matter. If they can do it for something that personal, I'm sure they can do it for music groups. Besides, BTS has had hate since their debut showcase and it just got more silly as time wore on. But I think the hate is different today than it was in those times. It's not a default dislike for BTS, it's a misdirected anger. Previously, fans defended the boys from unfounded and biased accusations; we were able to give people a different perspective and many people actually listened. Since BTS were the new kids on the block, a lot of fans from other groups started liking BTS when fans explained the misunderstandings. Fans worked hard for people to give BTS a chance. But now, it's more like a lot of people hate BTS as an extension of hating their new fans and not something that they've allegedly done-so BTS themselves are the ones having to work extra hard to compensate for the nonsense happening within the fandom. BTS is getting hit with stray bullets that are really meant for fans; they're scapegoats. That's another reason why I think it's very possible for people to be multi-fandom when they realize who are the real targets. While there will always be jealousy, when you look at how people react to BTS for the first time without having any interaction with the fanbase, you often don't see the same hate as you do with those who are familiar with the small minority of less than friendly fans. It's happened to almost every single Kpop group with a large fanbase and people started to realize it which is why there used to be the motto of, "don't make a group suffer because of fans", in earlier Kpop. It's also why there were so many discussions that ALWAYS asked the question, "can a fandom make you dislike a group", and everyone would claim "NOOOOOOO".
