Amber is not racist. We shouldn’t let people slander her name, periodt.
delirium replied to deliriousness's topic in Random
A couple of things: First, the video info cites Nov. 2019 which means she commented on this around that time? So people had a whole 8 months to air this out if they really felt some type of way about it? Second, most AA's are familiar with the "cop talk" that parents give which follows the same exact thinking of Amber. Know your rights but don't get aggy with the cops; even if you believe that they don't deserve respect, they have guns and are government backed and you aren't, so don't start popping off at the mouth bc they're trigger happy and they will shoot you. Brown individuals, especially males, are taught this starting around middle school ages...and we continue to remind our brothers, cousins, nephews, sons, fathers, etc., of this even well into their adult years. Third, dragging people for messing up is actually not really helpful. Psychological studies are revealing that it's a horrible idea that triggers mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. Lastly, Amber went hard when TMZ imitated an East Asian accent from an idol but now she's all chill when it comes to getting arrested over a sandwich? lol-I just had to snicker. Anyway, the fact that people think she's racist is just stupid and funny. Amber couldn't even handle the pressures of being racist-it would kill her. -

I'm still on Season 2 -_-, all these years later. I just scrolled down this thread really quickly so I wouldn't see any spoilers about previous seasons just to share my excitement for a season that I probably won't see until 2024. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

I agree, he's definitely experimental but tries to incorporate traditional Chinese sounds, so I think he's nailed down his genre (so to speak) but not his sound. When he played the tracks he produced during his full day interview, they were very diverse. I also think it was a huge risk to go for the trap sound with Joker during the performance and considering his nerves got the best of him earlier in the episode during their individual demos, it may not have been the best choice. It was almost like he was trying to show everything, at once, instead of really highlighting one aspect of his ability at a time but I have noticed that he has this need to prove himself. I haven't seen the rest of the episodes, yet though. Bruh, if this was a drama and he was like the outcast king trying to win back his kingdom, and it had fantasy and fighting and that DRAGON, no one in my house would have had peace for a whole day. I'm keeping everybody up. -
Yea, I don't know why people are making excuses; I also don't know why people are trying to force others to care. Standing against violence has to be genuine; if people stand up, it's a lot more helpful than them just talking about it. We're so sick and tired of talking; we're ready for action. But I want to be clear that we aren't checking for celebs to co-sign what's right-we weren't checking when it happened to Trayvon, we weren't checking when Karen and picnic Peggy were calling cops, we weren't checking during the Civil Rights movement and we aren't about to start doing it, now. We're gonna be in these streets regardless of who says what in whatever country on whatever platform. The only thing many people are really concerned about is just that the word is spread and that the truth doesn't become distorted (i.e. there is a difference between the protestors and rioters). Nor should this opportunity be used as some sort of flex or chance for clout. And if I'm being really real, I expect a lot more from fans than I do idols, anyway, because they're the first ones to try and tell someone about appropriation but when brown Americans tried to start conversations about these kind of topics (violence against blacks), many of them didn't keep that same energy. Even on here, threads about hair would reach like 7+ pages but threads about black deaths sometimes only got 2 to 3 and a lot of us picked up on it. It's crunch time now, the fire people are using to try and push others to say something is the same fire they should be protesting with. Don't look at others and say, this person and that person isn't doing anything-what are you doing? People have waited long enough for others to make a move. And the reason I clarified is because disingenuous care is how rioters slipped into our ranks in the first place. They put on this mask of concern because that's what they feel they're supposed to do but once here, they burn our ish to the ground and loot everything else. They won't be the ones who don't have food, healthcare, and services, we will. Their communities won't suffer from more job loss and economic fall-out, ours will. Their children won't be looked at like "thugs" who destroyed their own neighborhood, thus continuing the lie of scary brown people but ours definitely will.

I'm a stick in the ocean. I like being the only stick in the ocean. I don't want other sticks all up in my ocean.

Probably one of my most favorite M/V's from an idol artist, ever. And the side-glance around 1:10 took me out the game, I had to tap-in a friend. I still don't really like the entire song tho -

And Bacon's come up with the dancing is commendable. He's really put time into his craft, I must say I'm impressed. -
[pann-choa] I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT SUGA MADE A MISTAKE BUT

It's a really disturbing trend where people are acting as if they need to agree with EVERYTHING someone says and does just to be their fan or their friend or associate, whatever. Families don't even agree with every single opinion they each have and those people love for each other so where did this idea come from where you have to be a yes man or doormat just to rock with someone??? -

I understand defending another human being against defamation and allegations, it's the humanity in us to protect each other but this need to put celebrities and idols on pedestals has backfired since it's conception. The act of idolizing a person has seemed to do more harm than good. Previously, artists have defended their own musical selection against backlash for decades, it was a common thing, even when their music made them more susceptible to scrutiny of government agencies, police, industries, etc., they stood by their decisions. So when did things become so...backwards that even children now speak up and try to shelter the thoughts and actions of grown men and women who can speak for themselves, if they wish. -
A lot of people don't understand why this specific term is used. They're not aware that for centuries, black lives didn't matter like other lives mattered and that is why black lives matter is being singled out, specifically. They don't know about black children having acid poured on them because they wanted to swim in public pools; they don't know about black women being gang raped and white men facing no punishment; they don't know about the youth being tortured and their mutilated bodies being unrecognizable even to their parents. Most importantly, they don't know that this didn't happen in like 200 B.C. but only a couple of decades ago in the US and the same individuals who participated in these actions then taught their children who are now adults occupying every arena of business, that this was acceptable to do to brown people. The education on the African American plight is heavily watered down, just like it is for the Native American near genocide. So people many people need that education. People tend to respond best when they're informed honestly and with patience, THEN if they still don't accept the facts, we move on.

Right, which is why I focused more so on the global witness of people actually seeing what is happening, because even if these celebrities and sudden allies go back on their word years from now, we know that this injustice has reached international headlines and no one can deny the lies that have penetrated every country where previous biased Western media had sunk it's claws. Before, it was that AA's were just stirring up trouble as always and now people see that AA's are and have been trying to defend themselves against a systemic inhumanity. And they see every piece of it - from the begging for life to pleading for help to the unapologetic police force to the lack of charges even now to the differences in autopsy reports. It's like every lie concerning black aggression is coming to light at one time while the world is watching. The world finally has no more excuses because of this moment. I'm just trying to stay in a positive zone because if I think about the fact that it took 400+ years of torture for people to finally acknowledge it....
-
it's just refreshing to see that the entire world is finally paying attention to the truth after centuries of going through the same pain over and over, and sometimes even being told we deserve it
-
The same world of unicorns as you, apparently, if you believe that your country is the only one with stories of domestic violence, death, and so on. We have the highest death rates as it stands, along with civil unrest and the hardest hit community, and there are still people sharing stories both good and horrendous. One doesn't negate the other or make them any less significant. Those who shared positive stories just aren't blasted as one would expect, so I've noticed.

All of the fuss that people have made over the years about BTS making "conscious" music and no one was conscious enough to GOOGLE? If they were still considered "regular idols" and hadn't transcended into "artist", people could probably understand him not having control over changing the final result but fans talked as if BTS doesn't allow anything to be released that they don't personally breathe on, anoint, and then christen.

Making a generalization would imply that I included everyone in my statement though, which I didn't. I don't see Suga's statement as out of the norm when compared with others who share the views. There are many sides to Corona, his side is only one of them which is why I only highlighted that side. I was just wondering why his response is seen as different when compared to others of the same.
-
Wait, haven't....thousands (perhaps millions) of families around the world talked about how Corona has caused their love for their families to grow, how it's given them time with their loved ones that they didn't know they needed, how the virus is sad but they're appreciative that they are able work on themselves, their community, use their time wisely, able to help others, etc.? And people found these accounts sweet, enlightening, they gave them upvotes, shared their own stories, made news articles. But a celebrity makes a similar statement and we mad? Did I miss something?
