No one's choice should ever be taken away, however, tt's interesting that rape is often brought up when discussing abortions even though the percentage of abortions due to rape is very small and far more rare than people believe. Also, I don't think that many realize just how traumatic abortions are when they are added on top of a rape survivor's trauma. The emotional and psychological distress is actually exacerbated when survivors are pushed into making life-altering choices such as this; not to mention that the survivor already carries a type of guilt that actually misplaces the blame, shifting it from the person who raped them to themselves and the child that they possibly carry. It's far more complicated than the linear, black and white, thought process we engage in so that we don't have to really think about the details of the situation.
