Yes, I enjoyed it.

I'm glad you liked it, I enjoyed it too, but as you said, the ending....
I kinda specialize in japanese books, and this one was prob amongst the most enjoyable I have read. Did you read something by Koji Suzuki? The book made me wish I had even a basic understanding of math. For purposes other than utilizing it for murder plans of course.
Unfortunately, that is not a name I have ever encountered. If you have any recommendations from the author, please do share them! I am always open to new writers. Besides Higashino, the only other Japanese authors I recall having read are Murakami, Banana Yoshimoto, and Kazuo Ishiguro though iirc he's English so I don't think he really counts as a writer of Japanese lit.
Also, I thought I'd try Scribd so I've been reading The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo on there. So far it's enjoyable and the culture of the setting is really interesting to me. I hope it's as nice throughout as I have really high hopes for it!

Finished The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino. I can't deny the fact that one of the reasons I picked it up is because I vaguely remembered the author being mentioned by/associated with Kai but I was also surprised to see a foreign author at my local library since they are a smaller branch with limited books. I was actually there looking for Stephen King novels but the few titles they had did not interest me. Anyway, I did thoroughly enjoy the novel although I was a little unsatisfied with the ending. I recommend it to everyone who enjoys reading crime. It's a pretty quick read too!
Been reading consistently recently so I hope I can keep it up and catch up to my goal for the year.

I was bed ridden for most of the day and managed to finish The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. It's quite short and is peppered with some illustrations and graphs. It's written through the perspective of a 15yo boy with a mental illness. I can't remember what it is called exactly but it deals with the inability to relate to emotions and consequently others. The story follows Christopher through his investigation of who killed a neighborhood dog who he is fond of.
And though I really wanted to like the book, I thought it was just ok. It opened my eyes to how hard it is to care for someone with special needs. And so while I was a little irked by his mother's decisions, I could also understand her. So I guess it's quite insightful in its own way as well.
I'm way behind on my goodreads goal so I hope I can keep up this pace I'm currently reading at while truly enjoying the books I pick up!

Just finished Jhumpa Lahiri's Unaccustomed Earth and it's hands down my favorite book of hers. A lot of people complain that it's too similar to her first collection of short stories and that her characters are all the same (educated Bengalis) but I really enjoyed each and everyone of the stories and felt very invested in the lives of all her characters.

I've finally finished Jo Nesbo's The Police after what it feels like a long time. The ending picked up quite a lot and I found myself unable to put the book down. The gimmicky bit at the end was a bit of a turn off but generally, the book was enjoyable. I recently picked up Ruth Ozeki's My Year of Meats because it was selling for a dollar at a local bookstore but I can't get into it. Rather I'm more interested in purchasing and reading Shonagon's The Pillow Book which Ozeki integrates in her story telling rather finishing her novel.

Just started Gantz
Been reading Tsubakichou Lonely Planet and Horimiya

I would recommend "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" and "The Long Walk". I liked these very much though I am not fan of his books generally, so I guess they are pretty outstanding.
If you want some book which is his typical horror style, then probably go for The Shining.
'Pet Sematary' gave me the creeps; I really loved the story although I was crawling through it. Reading 'The Stand' at the moment and it's a good read but if I were you, as first time reading SK, I wouldn't read this brick of a book just yet.
Thank you for the recommendations. Besides The Shining, all are titles I haven't even heard of. I will definitely check them out!

Finished The Captive Prince series and I am obsessed! I loved the dialogue in the series and the main characters have me gaga over them. A little disturbed over how desensitized I realized I am after reading the books though.
Currently reading Jo Nesbo's Police and moving through it very quickly. Might start reading the Harry Hole series.
Lastly, can you guys recommend me a Stephen King book? Never read one before so maybe something that is a good intro to who he is as a writer.

Do you guys think Kai will update the homepage? While I have been highkey hella waiting for him to do so, I have a feeling it's another one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't situations. Some of the illogical comments on pann remarked that only updating on the official page was just all for appearances/image making (or something along these lines) and they may bring up his lack of SNS for fanservice again. Which is just stupid. But if he doesn't post they might say stupid shit along the lines of "see he doesn't care about fans, only cares about his gf" which is just so untrue I don't even get how people can lie through their teeth like that.
I'm so worried about this it's ridiculous. All the unjustified reaching and hate surrounding Kai is just making me so sick. He, out of all people, does not deserve this at all. I hope the schedule later goes smoothly.

oh shit...I'm so conflicted about this. As much as I love this pairing, I feel so uncomortable seeing this (if it's even them) considering how they're both so private
-
Now that I won't be tagged as delusional for shipping them, I feel more comfortable sharing these fics that I've read or have been reading!

...Am I the only one who's happy for him? I've had a feeling he was dating, so it's no surprise to me that he is. What's surprising is that it's Krystal. Anyway I'm happy for him (and Krystal) and this changes nothing for me.
No, I am also very happy for him. And I might just be following angels on twitter but most of them Kai stans or not are congratulating the couple. I'm so glad to hear that so many of us are not impartial to supporting him. I hope that he knows this.
-

So this is real?
Unfortunately, this has been debunked by a fancam from a different angle, but one non moment isn't going to sink this ship!!!
-
I cannot believe that the words "I will kill you" came out of his mouth. I felt that one straight in my heart and he sounded like he meant it too. The web drama is honestly such a treat! I am so thankful to Kai for blessing us with this. Though the drama is very sitcom-y and light, his acting is really not all that bad. His facial expressions for the most part are actually pretty believable except for some parts when he would emote in response to the female lead (I think I was being way too critical while watching though) but I do have to agree with the speech thing although I think that is just how he naturally speaks.
And also...
