....ok, but like, where is the EVIDENCE that taeyeon is lez? do i have to go to the lesbian thread for that? like, would they actually have receipts? and the biggest question is, why would sm stage baekyeon? what's their motive?
There isn't and I doubt she is tbh. She has had well known relationships with men in the past so I think she is probably bi if she does like women. I am like 95% sure the TaeSu was a real thing.
But that doesn;t mean the her relationship with Baekhyun is also necessarily real.

The plot sounds interesting! I've recently developed a love for any books that are romantic with a touch of time-travelling in them.
omg I don't know why, but your sig has me rolling on the floor!
Its a really good book. Lots of historical details.
Thank you

Its a Japanese mascot called Funassyi

I just finished Outlander by Diana Gabaldon and I really liked it!
It's a quite a old book I think, from the 90's, but I picked it up over the hype about the recent TV show based on it (which I haven't seen).
It's about an army nurse named Claire. It is 1945 and WWll is just over. She and her husband vacation in Scotland having seen each other for the first time in 6 years. There she steps into a Stonehengeish circle and gets transported back 200 years to the past.
I think it's written really well and plot is well thought out and researched. I will say it starts out slow and has some lag between events but it adds to the "realness" of the plot. It seems more believable because it's not a high paced thriller all the was way.
It is definitely an adult book. Like it deals with some heavy stuff like murder, torture and Male rape.
But I definitely recommend it to anyone if they are thinking about reading it.
I'm not going to read the book after outlander yet. I'm going to take a break and read with either Seraphina (because so many readers in this thread seemed to enjoy it) or A Certain Slant of Light.
Has anyone read that?

I have so many good books rn but no time to read.

I honestly don't get why people torrent books. It's so easy to get free books through legal means, why bother?
Do you mean libraries? Cuz I agree with that and I would but I live in the nuguest Canadian town ever and our library sucks pretty bad.
I mainly torrent because I read books using apps on my phone and its a million times easier finding the correct file type. -
Wow so many pages. How is everybody?
Did you guys see what Jaejoong said about Hiro before he enlisted?

I can't believe he's talking about this adorable thing

Why Jaejoong?!!

Omg he's just getting an official thread now

I found out about him through Protect the Boss and I've followed him ever since.
No lie, I think he is one of the best actors in Korea. I'm still reeling from how good Kill Me, Heal Me was.

The Hush series was such a disappointment. I don't understand why there is so much buzz about it, especially from adults.Hush, Hush is your standard paranormal YA romance, so standard I don't actually remembering it having a plot. The back of the book says 14 and up but I honestly can't see it entertaining someone seriously over the age of 14, but if are looking to read a shitty romance novel (Which I was ) You'll have a good time. My only complaint is not enough smexy times, but it was YA so what can you do. 5/10 because it kept me entertained for a day.
I got the box set around Christmas time from a friend who loved the books and knows I'm an avid reader.
It was honestly just a very typical post-Twilight type paranormal romance. The beginning was intriguing so I kept reading it but the ending was so anticlimactic and flat. It didn't feel like the book went anywhere.
Despite not being a huge fan of Hush, last week I picked up Crescendo (book two) which was around my house. It is so bad. Much worse then Hush, Hush. I gave up on it after a few chapters.
Do any of you torrent books? If you do which sites do you use?
Its so difficult to find some books online in correct formats. -
Spring is the grossest, shitiest season.

Finished episode 3 and its picking up fast which I love.
The pace of this drama seems really quick tbh. Only a couple of episodes in and the viewer already knows the truth behind most of the mystery.
But I'm anticipating the writer throwing more plot twists in as we go along. I hope the writer pulls through because I years the end of Yawang was messy.

Haha I think quite a few people are goingWe're watching the same drama again

from Kill me heal me to this ^^

Its really good so far. Its like the perfect mix between serious thriller and comedy.
SSK isn't great but she's not too bad either.

I do understand that there is no typical, which is why I put it in quotes. And America is not unique in this, Canada and Australia are also very diverse populations. Even if it does not apply to ~everyone~ there are some issues or views that are mainstream or very present in a country and I think it would be better for sake of discussion if the panelist talked about them, even if it wasn't about them personally.Well, that's the thing....what is the typical American?
Is the typical American white, black, Latino, Asian...? The US is a melting pot of many different cultures...are we going to dismiss first-, second, etc-generation immigrant children in lieu of those whose families have lived here longer? When I first began the show I was very wary of Tyler, because like the blond part-timer (maybe that's who you'd rather prefer?) I thought he was going to just focus on one group of people (ie, white). However, Tyler does a very good job of talking about the various cultural differences in the US. For example, I was pleased during the Thanksgiving talk, and how he said that during dinner, people add their own ethnic food to the table. It was a small detail to add, but for someone who is a first generation American that celebrates Thanksgiving, it meant a lot to be acknowledged, and not to be thrown under the rug because I wasn't 'typical'. (Side not: I also very much appreciated that he chose Martin Luther King, Jr. as a national hero instead of someone 'typically' obvious such as George Washington.)
However, I can see where you're coming from about how Tyler usually ends things with "well, my family isn't like that/it depends on the person." But to say "America as a collective...", that's rather tricky. I'm not dismissing your concern for how Tyler represents the US, but rather trying to explain how it might be difficult to find a way to go about topics in the US without ignoring other voices. Whose voice do you mean, and who is in that "collective" that they all share the same opinion?
Take Ilya for example. There has been a couple of times where he said that he didn't agree with something but that this was how the majority saw it in Russia. He played devils advocate just to represent his countries views. Tyler on the other hand is the epitome of political correctness, constantly trying to cover all bases and I find its taking away a very important perceptive from the conversation.

As a Canadian this is honestly my biggest problem with having Guillaume represent Canada as a whole. He is very Quebec-centric, and while the province has amazing events etc... the rest of Canada has a lot to offer as well, and that never really sees the light of day on the show. I like him as a panelist I just wish he would venture outside of Quebec and actually talk about traditions, events, and festivals not thrown exclusively in Quebec.
Also, welcome to the thread ^-^
Same.
I quite like Guillaume cuz he has a funny personality and his views are different from the other panellists but at the same time its disappointing because I feel like he doesn't really represent the Canadian view, just his own views.
I kind of have the same problem with Tyler actually. While he does bring something different to the show he doesn't really represent a "typical" American and I feel like it takes away from the conversation somewhat. Like when they were talking about nursing homes in ep 33 and Tyler ended the conversation by saying well my family isn't like that, it would be nice if he talked about the US as more of a collective rather then just cut it off at everyone in America is different.

Mimi and Paradise Ranch having similar acting? What is this sacrilegehonestly he showed some good acting in fwtg but then in Mimi...it was almost as bad as Paradise Ranch; so I don't know. I am gonna wait and see.

Mimi wasn't that good plot wise but I think Changmin's acting wasn't too bad. Or maybe I was being too biased.
My motive for watching dramas isn't because the leads are amazing actors, but it's mostly the premise I'm interested in. For example, I watched Paradise Ranch because I liked the premise, and sure I cringed at some of his acting, but he wasn't exactly what made the drama end up being terrible in the end... it was bad, reaaaally bad writing. This could have gone to so many different places and they chose the most uninteresting and boring plot they could find. Chagmin was the least of my worries in that drama.
I'm not very fond of vampire plots, especially in sageuk... so I'm not very thrilled about this. But we shall see... maybe it'll have an interesting plot. I hope it does well and that he won't get hatred for trying it out.
True. But even tho the plot doesn't sound too promising it will depend on how good a the writer is. Even overdone plots can be interesting if its done right.
I was actually thinking Changmin might do well in this role. PR was a rom-com and it totally didn't suit him. But he did great with FWTG, and historical dramas are usually more tense so I can see him pulling this role off.
-
wth, look at this shameless display of bromance

And how do you guys feel about Changmin's drama? Its confirmed right?
I'm happy for him but I was holding out for more WITH dates. I just hope the drama does well.

Kay. Will do.It'd be best to contact Mes, the subbing coordi and see what he says ^_^

Is the request for subs thread still around? I couldn't find it in the sub section.
If we want to propose a big project or something like that should we just get in touch with one of the subbers to talk about it?
-
No we are out of a subber again -__-
If OH subs are taking requests we could ask them. I think they subbed Jessica&Krystal when the original subber dropped it. Hopefully we have a free translator, and it would bring tons of attention and traffic to OH.
I'll start hunting around to see if I can find a translator.

you need a certain amount of people for the petition. I think 5 or so.
I would get a Jaesu badge. Hit me up if its happening.
how about this for yoosu?

Did someone say YooSu?
That badge is perfect. It'll be good for it to change even tho I love the current one so much

Are we also keeping our classic DB5K badge?

The badges look nice, thanks for making them.

second most iconic choice for badge after THE one:

Okay question about ep 7
When MooGak goes into the storage container at the end of the ep he sees some object and then realizes that someone had already been in there and that he had seen them when he was entering.
Whats the object that he saw? I'm confused. Do I make sense?
