Me too I suspected him a long time ago and he's the perfect example of what i mean when i say that i think a certain idol is gay

for me it is not about their appearance or femininity or even the way they talk or things they do of course these things can matter sometimes but for me it's all in their eyes , Idk how to explain it exactly but gay men usually have this certain look and certain stares

I think his main problem is he really seems to be unable or unwilling to lie to people. He always makes it a half lie or a disguised truth. Even his expressions and body language are very telling. I think that's probably why his initial concept was supposed to be that he didn't talk much lol

That was my first thought too when I heard his concept back then was someone who was not suppose to talk or smile. At first, I've entertained the idea that it could've just been to maintain an image as an "ice prince". But during a fanmeet someone asked him about it (why he wasn't allowed to smile during those days), and he answered that he "can't tell"...like it was a secret. So now, since he's not allowed to share the reasoning, I'm more certain that it's something to do with SM fearing what he might reveal with his no-filter mouth, XD. And also "no smiling" because they wanted to discourage him from being too obvious around Yunho, lol. But even then, he can't hide his smile...

And your interpretation of Jaejoong's smirk after passing the lie detector being more of a "look of irony" does make more sense now that I rewatch the video.

Also x3, I find it forever interesting that he's so loving and affectionate towards his male fans, because usually he's very hot and cold with his fans. He often refuses to say "I love you" or make hearts and stuff. He's not much into fanservice unless it suits his own interests it seems.

So I do have some comments about the Key analysis XDDD

First comment is that I don't think Key would get swept up just by fanservice. He's a smart guy. If Jjong was only flirty with him on stage and stopped as soon as the cameras stopped rolling, he'd figure out that it was just for show. I'm guessing Jonghyun was probably like that off the clock too, or else Key wouldn't have become so enamored.

Personally I do think they had something at some point, but that much is just speculation really.

Whatever happened, it was enough to really upset Key and shake him, and I highly doubt just camera and stage flirting would elicit such a reaction.

Also, if you look at the times where he initiated fanservice, it really didn't look like "fanservice" at all... He looked really comfortable and intimate (even touching Jonghyun's chest in one gif, clutching his torso firmly, which are uncommon for fanservice but quite common among lovers. It's usually loosely around the waist for friends. Incidentally, Jjong didn't look too pleased at the intimate contact @_@).

I also agree with what you said here. JongKey had something going on for Key to look that hurt during the SSK period. I agree that Jjong tried "experimenting" (probably nothing really sexual), but then decided it wasn't for him. And Key got hurt because he took it more seriously.

Sometimes I feel like Key will publicly come out, but then that feeling fades. If someone were to come out first in Kpop, I'm now starting to suspect it would be Jokwon.

So I updated part 8 and 9 of my Jaejoong analysis and noticed similar incidents between him and Key. There's a couple, but these ones were most notable to me since they're not typical:

I'm still here. If I have time to write another essay, maybe I'll write one on him. But that's already a decent list they have for Heechul being gay/bi though. And I'm seeing similarities with Jae while reading them too.

That insecurity and self-consciousness makes it more believable for me that Jae's gay. Like, on the one hand, he's comfortable being gay and not giving a shit what others think because he's just being himself...but on the other hand, he's still insecure about it and curious if people will truly accept him if he actually does come out as gay.

Then with Heechul, instead of questioning himself about being gay, it's more of a bold statement: "I love to hang out with guys to the extent that people think I'm gay"  “I’m not interested in girls"  "when I hang out with girls I feel annoyed." And Heechul's very confident and wants people to know he really enjoys kissing men, while Jae is more bashful while talking about the men he's kissed.

Even though I talk about Jae, Key and Jokwon not giving a shit about hiding their gayness, there's still that secretiveness and fear they all have regarding potential homophobic backlash if they're too open about being gay. I don't sense that same fear with Heechul. So it's difficult to tell if Heechul's just messing with people (since he knows he's not really gay and will not be affected by whatever backlash comes from actually being gay) or if he's serious (and laughing at the fact that he's free to be gay because he's shielded from the backlash since no one will take it seriously ).

I should probably do an analysis on similarities and differences between the speculated gays of Kpop (Key, Jaejoong, Jokwon, Heechul, etc.) ..because I've noticed many similarities.

I don't think he made an official "announcement". But he seems already "out" and most people seem to have accepted he's gay. He's been photographed in public with his supposed boyfriend ([1] [2]), accidentally referred to a "boyfriend" in an interview ([1] [2] [3]), rumors of him getting cozy at an intimate bar with another man, being spotted in public places holding hands with another man and spending the night at his house, rumors of him planning a gay marriage in California, the recent account about a private wedding ceremony he had with his boyfriend, and so on...

I have a feeling Jae's going to do something similar. Never officially coming out, but just continuing to do what he has always been doing (flirting with boys, admitting to kissing men, singing songs about love towards males, hanging out with only men at gay bars, etc). Eventually when he's in his 40s he'll move to Japan and have a private gay wedding ceremony with his boyfriend like Ken Hirai. Most people will come to accept that he's gay (if they already haven't), but there will be the few in denial who still claim he's straight.

I use to find Heechul's interest in Sohee cute back then. I seriously believe he liked her since he would always get flustered around her, or just any mention of her. And is was always a huge contrast to his usually confident self. So it makes me believe he's at least bi. He's someone who appears to enjoy being an entertainer, trolling people, and seeing their reactions. To be so bold with all that kissing in a homophobic environment and actually be gay is very brave. So I see it more as him just messing with people.

There is this American band, My Chemical Romance, who also does something similar. Two of the members, Gerard and Frank, have kissed eachother, but they did it as an anti-homophobic statement (I think one of them is married to a women). But they do it because they are supporters of LGBTQ and all for equality, so it was like a "fuck you" to the homophobic people watching them. I can imagine Heechul doing it for similar reasons. I mean, being around his SuJu members, I'm certain at least one of them has to be gay. And I think Heechul's aware and wants to be supportive (he mentioned supporting gay marriage in that radio interview). And maybe his way of spreading acceptance and equality is by being bold and in people's face about it.

And if Taemin acted like Heechul with that much confidence in his fanservice, I would think he's gay. Taemin always confuses me, and isn't as confident. So doing what Heechul does would really be out of his character. I would think.."wow, Taemin finally found the confidence to be who he is...and it's gay"

I've always been too awkward to try a relationship, so at least I haven't had to deal with that. But I'm sure it sucks, on both sides. :/

 

One time I decided to confess to this one guy (eventually I got over the urge to do that) and he was completely confused when I was completely fine with him not wanting a relationship. He was all apologetic, but it was really okay. I'm well aware that most everyone is sexual, so even if I'd love an asexual SO I'm okay with just being friends with the others.

I also have the problem of not being able to pick up social cues, so there have been occasions when I've been entirely surprised to find that someone was trying to flirt with me. Or even worse, when I find out that I was apparently flirting with someone else. lol

But that just may be my social anxiety talking. XD

I actually don't mind not being in a relationship either, and just being friends with people. But I'm near that age where people are talking about marriage and stuff. And I'm often asked when I'll get married and if I'm seeing anyone (so I kinda relate to what Jaejoong's going through here. Alot of his responses really resembles the responses I've given).

Looking back, I was pretty clueless to who's interested in me all throughout HS and prior as well. I guess it's because I never had dating/sex on my mind, so I always thought people were just being nice to me. And I would unintentionally flirt with them. And I always thought we were just being really friendly, but then they seemed disappointed about something. And now I realize what was going on...I have no social skills.   

The only even semi-sexual situation I was ever in was thoroughly underwhelming, and it's what initially led me to thinking I was gay. And while I've had crushes before it's always the situation of "Well, I do like you, but I just don't want to do anything about it. Wanna play Skyrim?" XD

The lack of sexual experience = asexual argument is just more funny to me than anything. Especially with the number of people who only discovered they were asexual later in life, even after having kids.

 

It's just hard for me to imagine Kevin with...anyone. Statistically speaking he's probably sexual and in that case he definitely gives off some gay vibes, but in some cases you just can't know. And a great number of asexual people don't even know that it exists and end up living sexual lives. So it's harder to have an a-dar than a gaydar XD

a-dar is definitely more difficult than gaydar, lol. I wished it was easier so it could prevent me from getting into awkward relationships with sexuals, which usually ends up in disappointment.

And I'm the same with having crushes, but just wanting to stare at them and do nothing more. xD  Or maybe like you said, just invite them to play video games with you. lol. I've actually done that with a guy I like (who seemed to like me too). It was actually one of my first dating experiences. He seemed shy, so I was the one who began inviting him to innocent dates (like playing video games with me ). But eventually, it got awkward when he wanted things to get more sexual....and he ended up thinking he'd been friend-zoned or something.

I've talked to a couple other asexual people, but I think it was actually only two. We're few and far between and sometimes I even forget that other asexuals exist XD

I actually came out as bi first, because I thought that if I didn't have a particular interest in the opposite sex I could like the same one instead. After a while I somehow decided that I was actually all the way gay, because I do have an aesthetic attraction to (mostly) guys, but it took me a long time to figure out that no, I didn't have interest in sex with anybody. So not the most fantastic story of all time.

Sometimes I get a...I don't know, lack of vibes from Kevin? If that's what you get when they're asexual. I see where you're coming from. He's all over the rest of the group but whenever it seems like someone is showing actual serious interest in him he shuts off. But that could just be me projecting...

My story's not that interesting either, and kinda similar to yours. I'm a girl, and didn't have interest in guys growing up. But I was always drawn towards physically feminine people, so I thought I was a lesbian at first. Then I realized I didn't have much interest in girls either, so that left me confused. And it took me a while to figure out that it was just the sex part that I didn't have interest in.

Initially, I thought I just didn't have enough sexual experiences (because I often see sexuals saying this as reasons for why asexuals don't really exists) ... but then a straight person really doesn't need to have sex multiple times with the same gender until they decide they're not gay/lesbian, right? lol.  So...yeah.

And I suspect Kevin mainly because every time he's asked about ideal types or what he'd do on a date, it's always non-sexual. Like he'd answer that if he had a g/f he'd sing her a song, bake her a cake, spend time with her, cook dinner for her, etc. It's always something very innocent and platonic. I don't get vibes from him either way as well, but I can't imagine him with a girl, so I see him as gay in that regards.

It seemed that dancer kind of pulled him wrong or did sth i could see like he said sth like "ouch " lol i think she might have scratched or sth it wasn't a sexual face you can clearly see it in the second gif it was like "in pain " face lol He practiced with those dancers and it wasn't a sexual outburst, he was just acting along  and you can see  that clearly in the rest of the performance and him around Jihyo,he's more visibly "gay" if i may say as seen  in the gifs i posted down  ; he acted like a cute little brother around her and even in the making of Jackal, you can clearly notice from the way he acted around her.If Jae had any interest in women, he would be dating by now especially that he's a sexual person but yet he prefers to hang around his male friends.

You're right, it does look like he's saying "ouch". Well, whatever is going on, I know it was a hopeless search for me finding any images where it remotely appeared like he was interested in females. And he is around a lot of beautiful woman on set...so the rarity of such things is certainly suspect. But you can find many instances with males. Even flirting with them, lol...

Hello there! I'm asexual too. And I mostly lurk here as well for the same reason as you, lol. So I hope you post here more. I've surprisingly stumbled into quite a few asexuals on these types of forums, but they just never talk about it. So I never know how many are out there. How did you come to the conclusion that you're asexual, if you don't mind me asking?

And relating to Kpop, I personally think Seohyun and Kevin Woo are both asexuals (but Kevin leans towards males).

I think you did a pretty good job providing logic evidence that Jaejoong is gay. I personally believe that he's completely gay since he doesn't show the least interest in females and when he talks about them , it is in the circumstance he's forced to talk about marriage or having a girlfriend since the media always obsesses over inquiring about  the whole marriage thing . The topic is pretty much sensitive because jaejoong has a wide fanbase that would go nutcase if you said that "oppar is gay"  despite the fact that it shows clearly in everything he basically does. I just wanted to point out a couple of things ..

 

Most of Jae's topless selcas bear a great seal of gay sexual innuendos in the way he poses  that if you are an international fan you'd understand  right away that he's hinting at his sexuality whereas for normal Asian fans who don't have enough background on the gay community ,they would think his selcas are just sexy.

Hello and welcome to the forum.    I agree that Jae is more likely gay than bi. But in some instances, he can look really sexual around girls:

He might just be a sexual person in general though...but yeah, his preference does seem to be males rather than females. Whenever he talks about getting a girlfriend or his past experiences with females, he rarely seems interested or excited. But when talking about males, there's a huge and visible difference.

Jaejoong's femininity does play a role in why we think he's gay since it's a fact that the majority of gay people are feminine and it's not a stereotype even though there are of course gay people who are not feminine .Also, his femininity supported by the things you mentioned with the fact that he loved a guy "yes i think it's obvious that he loved / loves Yunho"  proves that this femininity is the gay femininity and not the stereotype.  

 

Also, notice that he said his idea type is "Byonce" and it's ironic that she is the most famous idol for gay people along with GaGa and Avril is obviously a Tom-Boy .. He clearly said he never wrote a song for a woman, even if he meant specif women, then who's that specific person he's been crying over in his songs that abandoned him but still he is in love with him "i'm saving all my love for you", " You're my only and last love" , " you've already become my soul "--  clearly not a woman....Bear in mind that he co wrote Kiss B with LeeU who's also suspected to be gay . Also, jaejoong covered a song called Keshou "make up" in his last Yokohama concert, and the song has an extremely feminine lyrics that it can't be possibly covered by a male ,still jae covered it and even cried ..

When he talks about Beyonce, he usually mentions liking her music and singing, and that she's someone he'd want to collaborate with. He seems in love with her musically. So maybe it's not like an "Ideal Type" for a girlfriend, but there's that feeling of being really in love with someone's art, but not interested in that person sexually.

And I can't argue that people do notice Jae's femininity first...and that's what leads people to think he's gay:

And, as you said, it's his femininity combined with all the other factors that makes it really convincing that he is gay. So I agree, femininity can serve as an indication, and alot of the times, you will find further support for it. But the femininity =/= gay argument that many fangirls use to defend their idols really annoys me, so I didn't want to bother bringing it up, lol.

Femininity and yunjae are the two things most people get defensive about and argue that "it doesn't mean Jaejoong's gay!" So I tried not to discuss much of either. But I couldn't leave YunJae out completely since that's a big part of him. So I also discussed other guys he seemed interested in besides Yunho..like Yihan (even though I don't think there was anything going on between them). But I think discussing him made some YunJae shippers upset, lol. Oh well...I can't please everyone.

Anyways, I noticed my essay on Jaejoong was being linked and talked about on twitter and FB. I'm glad you and others found it interesting. But I guess not everyone liked reading it...I think someone even went to my profile to rate me 1 stars because of it, lol. (It's reminding me of what happened with my Key essay -_-). But that's to be expected.

*edit: i couldn't find more proof of this being an accurate translation of any of the interviews from this magazine. still can barely read this scan, so i decided just to check out the order of names to find where the question was.

 

and actually, none of these questions have sunggyu followed by woohyun, L, sungyeol, dongwoo, and sunjong in that order. most have only 2 or 3 members answering, and even in the above section (which isn't the twitter Q&A) there is no gyu->hyun->myung->yeol->dong->jong. even the barely visible column on the right has the wrong members replying.

 

it's either a fake translation or it's from a different part of the magazine that isn't scanned or a different magazine.

 

 

 

 

maybe it's real, but this scan is unfortunately the only too-shitty-to-read image of the whole set, and none of the other pages have group-oriented questions. i did some searching around in japanese, even using bits of what i could make out from the scan, but it was just impossible; japanese fans are less reliable in that sense (they make other fans buy the goods in question to experience it rather than scanning/fancamming/etc). 

 

i couldn't find any higher quality scans or japanese transcripts to prove that this is real, and most other posts i found about this magazine issue on fansites didn't even have this part in there.

Both are said to be from haruhana vol. 18, and the translation was posted a week after the magazine was available, so I assume the translation came from that magazine. Maybe the Q&A part they translated is one of the ones cut off on the sides? Too bad the Twitter Q&A pages are the only scans where we can't see the entire page...
