it seems really obvious to me that it's fine for kids to lust over underaged pop stars/ characters, and that it's normal because they are the intended target audience and are usually attracted to people their own age, but that it is not fine for adults to lust over children. IDK why other people have difficulty with this distinction.

Why are there so many people who don't think twice on calling a celebrity's kid 'ugly' (and I don't mean acknowledging the way all babies are kinda ugly, but singling them out or complaining that they look like the more 'ugly' parent)? It's a baby/toddler we're talking about, how cruel can you be to say mean things about a little kid. A kid's business is growing and learning, not conforming to whatever ridiculous expectations you have for their looks. Christ at least wait for them to be capable of speech before you start applying beauty standards to them.

Big Bang are idols the same as any other idol group, and they are far from the only idol group that has had creative control or input into their music over the years. I can't believe there are still VIPs that claim otherwise.

Why is it, when anything from a panel to a TV show wants a token minority, they always pick an African American person? There are more Latino people in the US, shouldn't they be the token minority? And yet they get like no representation, and oftentimes when they do they're a light skinned person or a character played by an Italian American person. Are we still pretending they're considered white by society just because the US census says they are? Better yet, can we just stop having token minorities altogether? Include all kinds of people whenever possible. Why is that still mostly a dream in 2017?

I have this young tumblr mutual who IDs as trans but is really obviously a confused lesbian.... they made a grindr and they're 16. like...why. grindr is like the last place a young person should be trying to explore their sexuality, the people on there are like 'no fats no femmes no asians' even to cis gay men. anyone decent on there is going to be annoyed by them and they're either going to get hate or creepy dudes hitting them up

it's interesting that the reggae inspired sound is so popular in korea. ko ko bop is doing pretty well, Why So Lonely last year was a major hit, there are a few other such songs over the years that charted well also.... so korea really likes easy listening rnb, acoustic, ballad, and now we can also add reggae to the list of genres likely to hit it big

I really want to know how many people in kpop were those weird theater kids type in high school. I mean, at least some of them must be, right, wouldn't that kind of person go out for a job in which they get to perform constantly? Like we all assume that most kpop guys are ultra masculine and must hate the weird clothes and the makeup and acting differently from who they are, but some of them have got to secretly love it, because they used to be that weird kid that would steal their mom's eyeliner and act out skits with their friends

Exo stylists gave baekhyun this horrible kool-aid red mullet and Kai some kind of fake afro-textured hair (forgive me, as a white person I don't know what that thing is called, or if it's even a thing with real afro-textured hair) thing, and its not looking good for them so far....after what happened to NCT recently, SM stylists need a leash lol

It makes me so happy that so many kpop mvs are shot in the Sonoran desert. they could go anywhere- China has a desert, chile, north africa, but they go here. The American southwest is truly a treasure (and we need to protect it).

kpop fandom pet peeves, part 1395858: when people say, 'stan talent!' about a group that has great discography (but perhaps lacks in other areas). whose talent? it's the producers, arrangers, composers and lyricists that made the album great most of the time... the idols themselves didn't have a ton to do with it. any one of those nugu groups that release half baked stuff could consistently release something as great as what the big three turn out... if they had big three level connections and investors. this is why I listen to almost all groups, but if they release bad songs, I drop them... because honestly I care more about the music, and it ain't the members that are responsible for that most of the time. unless we're talking ailee level vocals or iu level musicianship most of the time it's the producer that makes the production what it is, not the person who sings it...and I am here for great releases at the end of the day, no matter who's singing them

sounds like your student has ADHD. sucks because obviously you as a student yourself are not equipped to deal with it, and I know a lot of places in the world have limited recognition for that and other learning disorders. I wouldn't beat yourself up about it, but if you want to try to help I'd try to see if there are any resources in the area for students like him and talk to him and his parents about it

there's this korean asmr channel I watch and people are constantly posting comments that mock her accent. like, not in a mean-spirited way, but still. it would be acceptable if they just pointed it out once but it keeps happening and I cringe so much... like I can't imagine how it must feel to study a foreign language enough that you achieve fluency and can make videos in it, but then all anyone wants to do is point out that your pronunciation or diction isn't exactly perfect, and isn't that hilarious?
