  1. MTE. it's just not hit single material, even with how good the performance was
  2. it's the wrong thing to say but without knowing this guy.... I can say I never know what to say when someone reveals something painful like that, either (though I know by now not to say things like, 'well everything happens for a reason' but I don't know how old your bf is)
  3. No, I'm worried about them too OP, it's gotta be rough for them
  4. Since I was a young child in the 90s ('92 liner here) that didn't consume much media aside from whatever I was allowed to watch on PBS, I'm really more nostalgic for things I was a teenager for. Lately I've been listening to MCR albums and missing the long van rides with friends and my little shitty mp3 player. Updating my myspace and the early days of facebook when logging on was exciting (I'd get a message from my best friend or see what my crush was up to!) and not something that just bores me and raises my blood pressure.Texting on my first phone that was a nokia brick. games on the xbox 360 And yes, not having serious responsibilities
  5. I think about this a lot, not so much in kpop but in kbeauty and kfashion since that's the category in which most of my korean purchases lie. Hallyu and domestic korean pop culture is so very disposable and fast. Trends constantly change there, and many of the trends generate stuff. Every roadshop brand has a new line out with cute plastic packaging every quarter at least. everyone has to have new outfits for every season, most of which are made of poor quality fabric by sweatshop labor. So movements like #escapethecorset, which encourages women to feel comfortable in their own skin and save time, labor, and money spent on keeping up with trends and femininity, are also very positive for the environment. And in turn I have felt an urge to reduce my own consumerism. I feel happier now that I don't try to amass more stuff or keep up with trends at all.
  6. kpop exists because seo taiji and some breakdancers wanted to make korean Run DMC and the sooner people accept that the happier they'll be. its strength is in the fact that it adapts these things for a korean audience and is a fusion genre anyway for gg that debuted in 2015 or later (Twice's debut year), I think Loona, Gfriend, and Oh My Girl have interesting discographies. I'm also partial to CLC, Dreamcatcher, and G-idle. I don't know that any of them are the 'best' but they all have at least one vocally talented member with good stage presence
  7. I'm another former doubter that's now obsessed with it it's a nice respite from mainstream youtube which is so often damn loud. Sometimes I just wanna listen to someone talk quietly and make nice sounds
  8. I started getting into kpop right when Bubble pop promotions started but I checked out her previous single and 4minute stuff at the same time I miss 2nd gen....
  9. I like them about equally. They're not my favorite releases this year but they're fun songs and the b sides are good too
  10. my first bias group, I'm so pumped I've been listening to their discography since the announcement <3
  11. In case you're still on this boat

one of RBW's new groups filmed their comeback near your city

      Also, man what a week

    2. Ulmicola

      Ulmicola

I recognize quite a few of those places, yes. :3 And what happened in the last few weeks had to happen sooner or later anyway, it's not like we didn't know that Yang Hyun Suk was creepy as fuck already. B.I. trying to bulk-buy LSD on the other hand, that's just being an idiot. XD

  12. It's kind of weird to me as an American to see how Korea drops everything when domestic tragedies happen. Like, the Camp fire in California was absolutely devastating, with far more casualties than the fire in Korea, and I don't remember any disruption in entertainment, despite many things being filmed in southern CA. It takes a tragedy of 9/11 or the Columbia shuttle disaster proportions for there to be canceled broadcasts nationally, if there's a bad fire or flood somewhere they report on it and there are red cross drives and etc. but no one is like, 'let's cancel tv out of respect for the victims'. And yet on the other hand Koreans are also nearly immune to news of North Korean sabre rattling. They've lived with the constant threat of war and monthly air raid siren tests for so long that no one gets worried about that. In the US there is a media frenzy whenever KJU makes an aggressive announcement and about a year ago everyone was worried about the threat of nuclear war like it was the 1980s again.
