  1. If it's any consolation, I've heard he's told the show-runners how things pan out, so if they catch up to the books (which they probably will), they can carry on with the show.
  2. We basically have her history to go on. Which is that of the girl who wanted to be a queen in a castle and has had to face some horrible truths about the world since then. But *nowhere* in any of her story is there the slightest inkling of military understanding, much less mastery. I can make a solid guess on what kind of athlete I'd be (terrible - I lack a certain level of coordination and with a complete lack of interest) and whether my mom will ever learn a second language (no - she doesn't have the interest or capacity for it (really, she's not just trying to make my ears bleed when she mangles what little french she remembers)). In the same way, I can reach a pretty reasonable conclusion that Sansa, having never shown any interest in military goings-on, isn't going to turn into a super-general. I am unfamiliar with the Art of War and The Prince in any level of specificity, so I can't speak to either of those things or how GRRM is applying them through his characters. "You need good fortune and able-bodied soldiers on your side and anyone can be unstoppable." Ideally, I suppose? If you have enough soldiers as cannon fodder to overwhelm your enemies. Sansa will need a tremendous run of luck (not just some good fortune) and/or a LOT of soldiers to accomplish much of anything. She's not so far had much of the former (other than surviving this long), and she has NONE of the latter. There are not a lot of those left in the North, and most of those would probably not follow her for her sake OR her father's. But they might follow the Blackfish. I think we're arguing from two different sides but going to the same point. Sansa will probably end up running Winterfell. Be it as Queen or Warden of the North for Dany, it seems like the most likely course for her story. We're just arguing about how she'll get there, and at this point we obviously disagree on it and aren't convincing each other of anything. It's just wait and see now.
  3. You are my favorite Changjo and I adore you because everything you said is just YES. The only time I have Andy feels is when he goes into Zombdy mode. Hyesung... *distracted by Dongwan pretending to be shy about being shirtless* Um. ... Oh right! It's just Hyesung being the mama bird. If there was skinship involved, THEN I'd be amazed that he initiated it.
  4. I'm gonna have to break out book 3 this weekend and refresh my memory on things again. I remember Robb making Jon his heir, but I don't remember a letter. Probably just overlooked it, though. >_< In re: Sansa - No. It's not a coincidence that Sansa's not been on a battlefield, and while that's intentional on GRRM's part, it's not because she's secretly a military genius. The closest she's been to a battlefield would be either A) during the riot in Kings Landing when the Hound saved her from getting gang-raped in an alley or B) the Battle of the Blackwater, when she was holed up in the Red Keep with the other noblewomen, under Cersei's increasingly drunken eyes. Sansa would probably have learned who fought who and which side won because that more or less covers most of history, but she's never shown *any* interest in details of military strategy and her mother wouldn't likely have taught her any of that. It's the sort of thing ARYA would have wanted to learn, and that alone would have had Sansa running out of the room as fast as her slippered feet could carry her. Baelish would also be a terrible commander of men. He's just an underhanded manipulative scumbag. It's not won him any friends, it's not going to win him any loyalty, and it's not - ultimately - going to win him a throne. I think he'd rather be the power behind it than the target upon it, anyway. Maybe he dreams of that happening via Sansa (among other creepy things he probably dreams about her). in re: Stannis - he's an excellent commander... and that's about it. Davos is the one person who shows any measure of true loyalty to him and that's it. I don't like how the show has made him appear like nothing more than Melisandre's puppet; that takes away from his character - he's a hardass and incapable of bending. He's the definition of uncompromising, but he does things for his own reasons. In re: Ygritte and Jon - I thought she shot him once in the back, once in the chest, and once in the leg in the show? (Edit: just watched it again - once in the back, once in the thigh, and I couldn't see where the third arrow hit but maybe it's visible when he gets to the Wall and falls off the horse.)
  5. Refresh my memory on the letter you're talking about? Haaaaaa... NOW I think it would be awesome if Sansa and the Blackfish took Casterly Rock. She's a Lannister by marriage, after all.
  6. I think most of them have had a hand (or at least a couple of fingers) involved in their music, though I don't know how much or in what capacity.
  7. ...about 9 months. Sansa's not Queen of anything, unfortunately. Westeros is a patriarchy - titles and whatnot always pass to all legitimate male heirs before even considering females. Iirc, in the books (spoilers? maybe? don't think it matters after S3E9 but it might be a plot point in S4), I dunno if you guys have any sort of commute to and from school, but there are unabridged audiobooks out there.
  8. I also *adore* that he (Intae) has a book in hand in the first photo. I do love someone who reads!
  9. Jeeswagmod Swag. Of course. >_> Of course there's 'swag' in his IG handle.
  10. I saw those and they make my ladyparts twitchy. The first one... I wonder if leader Inati is giving Wonderboyz leader advice or telling stories from 'back in the day.' The young'un seems to be paying close attention to his hyung.
  11. Ah, soloists? K.Will Seo In Guk Baek Ji Young Gummy Ailee Andamiro Kim Tae Woo Lee Hyori And holy crap how did I forget JYJ in my list of groups I have feels for?! And yeah... I grew up with a mom who listed to 'oldies,' an older sister who listened to country music and broadway musicals and an older brother who listened to classic rock and heavy metal. So... the only kind of music I didn't really get exposed to when I was little was rap and hip-hop... which weren't really a 'thing' in the area I grew up. There weren't many radio stations to choose from and none of them were exactly playing Ice-T or Public Enemy on heavy rotation (or at all).
  12. For actual fandoms where I get all and about it, I consider myself a Dalmate and Shinhwa Changjo - DMTN and Shinhwa ( Junjin and Dongwan are just... I have so very many feels for them both). As a fan in general where I just get from their music... Block B Epik High FT Island CN Blue Nell Noel MIB Choshinsung Geeks Infinite Nevermind Myname Cross Gene B1A4 and occasionally Big Bang (Daesung-ah~~~) NU'EST (I try to avoid this, as my bias in that group is so very young (I'm old)) U-KISS (triple toss-up with Soohyun, Hoon, and AJ) BAP (...Yongguk...) and sometimes even a little bit SHINee (...Onew ) SuJu (Yesung ) SS501 (Hyungjun and Jungmin you gorgeous, glorious-voice having puppies )
  13. This is going to be video heavy, but it'll be a good reference for new Dalmates. Lots of interviews and other clips. Dorks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGZTr7cSxcA Turn on the CC at the bottom to pick your subs for this one. Pt 1 Pt 2 Pt 3 Pt 1 Pt 2 Pt 3 Pt 4
  14. That's just my sort of pet name for him. He's super energetic all the time and usually really cheerful. He's one of those people it makes me happy to watch because his energy and enthusiasm is just contagious.
  15. And because it's never NOT funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eqk9H_udgTU Left to right - Donglim, Jisu, Simon, Daniel, Inati. This will be right up your alley. ROFL @2:58 He just needs to run laps around buildings to burn off some of that energy sometimes. Yeah, Dan and Jisu are not helping you by having the same ugly hair for ER. And yes, that's Jisu taking the pepero from Inati in my sig. Jisu is my bias as a noona. =D
  16. If you want Jisu related stuff, this is the tumblr for you. http://fantomistress.tumblr.com/tagged/jeesu She is absolutely mad for our energizer bunny. Also, search by Jeesu. For whatever reason, that's how his name is anglicized for the group. Jisu: Daniel Donglim and Daniel (pouty maknae!) and Jisu Daniel, Donglim, and Jisu I love that tumblr, too. http://moxxiecity.tumblr.com/ *ahem* Many of her Inati-specific gifs are my fault. He's not her bias, but I think she was amused at how much I freak out about him.
  17. I'm just... there had better be a LOT of quality fancams from that show in Japan. I need my DMTN fix.
  18. No "hopefully" bullshit! You get your absentee butt in this thread and hang out with us and ogle Inati with us and you will LIKE IT. *puts foot down!*
  19. Here you go. http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLua4I2tEUi3CL5hqvIwXUQ There are no subs, but he's not a main character, so he doesn't have *that* much to do... but this amazing Dalmate pulls out his bits from each episode and posts them on approximately a weekly basis. I really wished they would put him in something other than a tracksuit... but then they did and now it's worse. Those are not appealing shirts he's been wearing lately. While the main teacher is always dressed very nicely. Granted, Intae's character is a gym teacher, so he has no reason to wear nice slacks and a tie or whatever. *grumble* Those are lovely gifs. Huh. The thread is not tagged with Youngwon OR Donglim. And hot damn those Intae gifs. The second one in particular is fantastic. @ROBOTCAT DON'T FORGET YOU NEED TO FIND OUT IF HIS HAIR IS AS SOFT AS IT LOOKS /ahem. *clears throat* Yes.
  20. All the Houses (minus the North) are intermingled to some degree with the Targaryens. It's what you do in monarchy-based politics - you marry as many people you can into the ruling family in an attempt to get yourselves closer and closer to the throne and/or more powerful positions. Short of pulling out a genealogy chart, I don't know how closely related the Baratheons are to the Targaryens, but I don't think it's close enough to actually call Robert a Targaryen. Robert basically left the running of the Kingdoms up to the Small Council because he found it boring. He was a great warrior, but he never had the brain for politics. As for Stannis... I think he's one of those people who can internally justify whatever he's doing with his own odd logic. When Robert died, Joffrey should have been king... ...except Ned told him about who Joff's dad *really* is... ...which means Stannis should be king, as the eldest living brother... ...but Renly dared to violate that custom/tradition by declaring himself king... ...so Renly had to die since he wouldn't ever back down. I don't know that he has delusions of grandeur (not in the books, anyway). I think Melisandre is basically telling him what he wants to hear (yes, you're right, you should be king and when you are, you'll save the world and everybody will love you for it). I'm not even convinced he *wants* to be king. But he thinks by the laws of inheritance, he *should* be king... and here we are. Here's a weird comparison for you: Melisandre vs Elaida from the WoT series Red priestess vs Red Ajah Both 'foresee' things Both are misguided in believing they understand what they've seen Melisandre attaches herself to Stannis... I don't remember if it was because of the prophecy and the wordplay, but Elaida attaches herself to the royal family of Andor... while ignoring that the throne had just changed hands, so she's attached herself only tangentially to the person she's looking for.
