Anime may have once been a niche fandom outside of Japan, but the medium is anything but these days. Streaming services and globalized promotions have made anime one of the world’s biggest entertainment venues, so it isn’t hard to watch your favorite anime. However, it does look like Funimation and Crunchyroll will be going their separate ways when it comes to content soon. Recently, Crunchyroll posted a statement updating users on its on-going partnership with Funimation. It was there fans were informed the relationship would be coming to an end this November. “As many of you know, we have had an ongoing partnership with Funimation the last two years, sharing anime between users. Unfortunately, Funimation has decided to go their separate way, and this partnership will be winding down on Friday, November 9th,†the post reads. “For our Crunchyroll community, this means that you’ll still be able to access the biggest anime library in the world. However, a list of select catalog titles licensed via Funimation will be leaving Crunchyroll - likewise, the Funimation catalog will also be impacted. That list is currently being finalized between both parties, and we will share impacted titles with you as available.†According to Crunchyroll, it will continue airing its on-going simulcasts for favorite titles like Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia. All home video release will go live as expected as well, and pre-orders will not be effected. “As demonstrated by our record year of anime announcements, Crunchyroll is more committed than ever to bringing you the best and latest series from Japan, as well as expanding our catalog of classics,†the website stressed. “Thank you for your continued support. We’re honored to be your favorite source for anime and will continue to do our best in delivering you your favorite series at the speed of Japan.†Currently, there is no word on how this partnership's end will affect daily service for either company. Funimation and Crunchyroll announced their much-praised team up back in September 2016. The working relationship allowed each website to share content from their catalogs, giving fans even more access to their favorite shows. So, for now, fans will want to keep an eye on both Funimation and Crunchyroll as the fallout of this split becomes known. https://comicbook.com/anime/2018/10/18/funimation-crunchyroll-partnership-ending-anime/

The fact that they focused on it so much makes me think we're going to hear/see a lot about Japanese pancakes in the near future. All this time they were thinking sushi and ramen were the only food people were aware of. They don't seem to understand that most visitors to Japan aren't interested in anime, manga, idols, etc.

With Zip and Asahi for Cool Japan: if we were sightseeing/on vacation or if we knew people, how long were we staying, if this was our first time in Japan, what places we visited, why we visited those places. With the Olympics committee it was all the questions above and some new ones: How much do we know about Japanese pop culture, did we come to Japan for the pop culture (ie: Anime), if not then why did we come to Japan. how much we make in a month & year, will we come back to Japan, why would we come back to Japan. With the Olympics committee, we didn't answer the income question; it's none of their business. We got a free eraser for participating, but only one... to share between the two of us. Cheap. Asahi was obsessed with what we ate; in particular pancakes. We mentioned we went to two pancake places and that opened the floodgates. They kept going on and on about pancakes and asked were Japanese pancakes popular in the US?, would we come back to Japan for pancakes? We could tell all three were upset we weren't there for the typical Japanese stuff they thought people were coming for. We told them we came to experience Japanese life. We stayed in a normal neighborhood, ate at local places and hung out with our friends. We told them that when we came back that we wanted to experience nature and chill. I was surprised about them being disappointed about the whole nature thing. I work for NHK and they're pushing that whole visit our forests and parks thing. IDK. It's like they want to change, but are disappointed when their old tricks don't work.

Just came back from Japan. While there, I was bombarded by Cool Japan/Olympic 2020 surveys on the street. Asahi and Zip (news) interviewed me and my friend and at Narita, Olympic people were swarming asking people to take a survey. Did this happen to anyone else that went to Japan recently?

I can tell they really want to keep the SEN7ES girls. They're getting so much attention. I can see the same deal happening with BlueV; not too sure about HO2. Whatever happened to Color Girls?

Aww. The shades look cute. IDK why this news made a question pop up in my head but here it goes: When the girls who are in subunits graduate from China48, do they also graduate from their subunit?

I guess personally I wouldn’t. Her struggle vocals would ruin the mood and it seems like she’s having a hard time keeping up with the pace of the show.

Which is the smart thing to do. If one group isn't doing well it can tarnish the whole franchise. Investors wouldn't want to put money into something they don't think would be successful.

Part of me is wondering if it's because of 7Senses and Star48 working with the Zany Bros. and having a training center in S.K.? It kind of reminds me of when SNH was still apart of the J48 family. Even though they weren't kicked off/cancelled from a show, they weren't given as many chances and kind of shunned by most of China's entertainment industry. I think the partnership with ZB and the full English song is the reason why.

Glad you made it back safely and had a great time! It's always great to see things you've only heard finally in person. What else did you get to do? I'm next up with my trip to Japan during the first two weeks of October. I wish my trip could've crossed over with one of you guys'.

Speaking of new faces, any news on "Produce" Star48? Looking for a new show to replace P48.

I totally agree that this sort of thing is needed. The problem with J48 is that they rely too much on certain members for years and when it's time to find a new Ace/Center no one else is known to the public or have resigned to being in the background and don't try. I'm glad that girls actually have a chance to make it big in China48.

Fantastic! I'm heading over there at the beginning of October. I'd recommend that you eat a lot of street food if possible and just chill around the city.

Sounds like a classic. I'm happy with the effort they put into this mini.
