Yeah, I had high hopes for them. Now it only seems like Rocket Girls are their rivals and we know that eventually, they'll disband.

IA with what everyone before me had to say on the matter. I think it's fine to acknowledge that SNH was once part of the AKS empire, but I honestly think the separation was the best thing for both parties. SB got what they wanted, making a Chinese idol empire with original songs. And AKS got a group that just rehashes old 48 songs so royalties can still flow-in. TeamSH & TP are better off being tied to the mothership for financial reasons. As far as I can tell, people on this forum don't really have any problem with supporting both China48 and Japan48 groups. IDK what it's like anywhere else. Personally, I listen to whatever I like no matter what group it comes from.

So legit question here: All these awards that they've (SNH, GNZ & BEJ) won, do they really mean something or are they just participation trophies everyone receives just for showing up?

Never thought that CKG and SHY were more like franchise groups, but it does make sense. It's really to the detriment of the China48 branding. If these two groups aren't doing well and can't really keep up with the others, it's going to look really bad and they might not be able to get anyone to invest in other groups.
