Sentou Yousei Yukikaze)(Battle Fairy Yukikaze) is a visually-stunning, action-packed, yet contemplative sci-fi adventure that ranks as one of the more impressive anime in recent years. The story concerns the SAF (Special Air Force), who are charged with battling JAM, an alien force invading Earth through a mysterious dimensional portal. One of the SAF members, Rei Fukai, is assigned to pilot "Yukikaze", an advanced fighter with revolutionary A.I. capabilities enabling it to target and destroy JAM with unbelievable accuracy. Fukai develops a strong bond with the A.I. system, such that he trusts Yukikaze instinctively. But when Yukikaze shoots down a human pilot, Yukikaze's true allegiance is called into question... -- Yukikaze is probably my favourite anime series, its around 11 years old now(started in 02 ended in 05). Think of it like a top gun type of anime if you have never watched top gun well then not really sure what to say. It 5 parts series each episode is around 3 hours in length.
