Billboard: GFriend Return With Expressive New Video For 'Sunrise': Watch K-pop girl group GFriend brought the heat today (Jan. 14) with the release of their new single “Sunrise.†"Sunrise," the group's first new track since the October release of Japanese single “Memoria,†starts off bright and pop-py over a playful beat before the members harmonize their way to the sort of expressive synth-pop the act is best known for. Impassioned vocals -- especially from Eunha who ends off the song on a high note -- and orchestral melodies turn the song from its sweet beginnings into a lushly dynamic ode to a “Sunriseâ€-like love. The single was released alongside a music video that begins with a brief voiceover from Umji. “I had a dream yesterday,†she says. “Even though our time together was short, we were not separated from each other.†As the clip unfolds, it features the members of GFriend elegantly relaying the song’s powerful tune through charming winter scenes -- both at home, in the streets, and in a forest -- and charismatic choreography. “Sunrise†fronts GFriend’s second LP Time For Us, which features a total of 13 tracks, including a Korean version of “Memoria†and an instrumental of the single. It is their first full-length album since 2016's LOL, which was fronted by their single "Navillera." Since their start in 2015, GFriend has landed six albums on the World Albums chart. Some of you are speaking as if Yuju didn't have any high note in Sunrise I don't understand because in my eyes she got a big one and which are as usual highlight: - in the MV - and in the choreo with the girl turning like a sun around her There are so many high notes in Sunrise that she would just kill her voice if she was the only one to hit them all. (remember than during promotion period, they are singing multiple time a day everyday) So it's actually good for Yuju that she can share them with the other girls. And imo the ending sound so good because they sang together. Yuju start and Eunha finish (with the others adding even more flavors) Any of the girl alone would not sound so good because they are complimenting each other. I'm not sure. Umji start with I had a dream. The MV descrition was about hoping for sunrise but being sad because realising then than nothing can change. So I guess they still only can met eunha at night, or in their dream... but when you dream, you dream about any time of the day. And as they dream, they are with Eunha and are happy and hope that she can stay for the next day with them so are exciting about the sunrise, but then the sunrise happen, they wake up and realise that it was just a dream and nothing has change. Eunha is still gone. But well, it's just my first interpretation, I could be wrong. What do you think?
