Man I had a feeling that this could be coming since I saw that he attended an event for a brand that focuses on legalizing weed in korea (looked like he and his bf were friends with the owners). Hoping for a light sentence.

This is the only instance I know of (ft. felix). There’s no photos or videos of this but it seems to have taken place in 2019, so one year before another stay tried to give a pride flag to felix and got a similar response. Pride flags are not unusual at skz’s concerts and members (felix and bangchan) have been known to acknowledge them. They have never brought one up on stage tho, so jype banning them from doing so seems plausible. (He’s also friends with Daehwi, might be a stretch but I have a hard time seeing Daehwi hanging out with homophobes.. )

I mean given the fact that Lee know was one of the members who were spotted visiting/stumbling upon nyc pride and jisung allegedly wanted to take a pride flag on stage but wasn’t allowed to I’m sure that they know of the pride flag and it’s meaning. Wether that translates to the rainbow in general is difficult to say (but personally I think they might be aware to some degree based on how much it is used by fans). However, just like @oh my dora mentioned, usually when the rainbow is used in both korea and the west it is bc it’s pretty colours, not because it means that something is lgbt-related. I remember those kind of light reflections being quite popular on tumblr without it being related to lgbtq. I’ve stated on here before that I believe both lee know and jisung might be lgbtq, but this is an official photoshoot. If they aren’t allowed to take a pride flag on stage then I doubt jype would let them hint at being lgbt like this. Unfortunately I don’t think the members had a say in the matter, in fact I even think it might have been edited in.

This is my last post on this bc just like you feel that I’m missing your point I feel that you’re missing mine. I never said that it’s wrong to call an idol straight on this thread. You’re entitled to your opinion and can share it however you please. My issue was with the tone of your response to ppl who simply asked you to elaborate on an opinion that obviously would be unpopular.

I know and I agree. I simply used the same terminology you used to point out how you sounded. I meant it as a synonym for “wishing”. I know (read: hope) most people here don’t have some sort of gay fetish. Yeah and for some people Namjoon gives them obvious signs of being lgbt. A big share of the posts on here are just people posting about someone’s vibe without any solids receipts anyway. I agree that it’s a shame that the thread gets so messy every time BTS gets brought up. You know where your posting tho. Why act so surprised when ppl disagree. Idk but maybe if ppl wouldn’t get so defensive over ppl disagreeing with them or leaving skull/clown reactions we wouldn’t have this issue. My main point: I’m tired of y’all coming on here and posting opinions you know will be unpopular and then getting upset when ppl question you or leave a skull/clown reaction. I don’t really have an opinion on namjoon and john but based solely on the things posted here I lean towards agreeing with you. However, this is the “which male idols do you think are gay” thread. I would say most people posting here “have a hard on” for their faves to be gay. Y’all need to stop acting surprised when your opinion that someone is straight turns out to not be popular on this forum. You’re allowed to say what you want, and people are allowed to react how they want to. Just take the skulls and clowns with grace, they’re just emoticons.

I watched p101 back in the day, and I think the general take on Jihoon was gay and a bit self conscious about it. Yeah this seems to be quite a common take. I don’t think that it’s likely that 6/8 of the members are lgbtq (sorry to bring back statistics on this thread again), but the only ones I would feel confident in writing off as straight are suengmin and i.n. I talked about it before, but I think it’s bc of all the support they shown for the lgbtq community combined with how comfortable they seem to be with physical touch/skinship and showing affection for each orher (particularly minho, jisung, felix and chan). As well as members like felix who have imo quite strongly indicated being queer.

I don’t follow bts closely anymore so I don’t really have a strong opinion.. but he does follow j-hopes sister. He also follows nana, troye sivan + yoo ah in and his rumoured boyfriend ( a sculptor who often talks and makes art about queerness). His following list has so many male body builders and models. He seems quite gay imo.

I see what you guys mean, but I don’t understand how it comes as a surprise that some fans aren’t in the loop. I have never watched the opening ceremony before and I don’t recall seeing any articles or posts about it. I’m european but from a country that does mediocre in men’s football (we didn’t make into the world cup this year), why should I care about an opening ceremony? Why would someone from a country that never qualify care? I’m sorry that this is off topic, but I don’t think you can blame a bts fan for what the media of their country doesn’t show them. I do agree with your point about the reactions of the performance though. I don’t think football fans will be super excited to see a bts member perform. Thinking about it actually make me worry abt the risk of racist remarks/reactions.

I agree that Namjoon has shown great support for the community, but personally I don’t think that wearing something from a pride collection in a photoshoot is proof of anything. I doubt that he picked out the shoes personally. If it reflects on anyone it’s probably the stylist. I think the most likely explanation behind idols wearing pride/rainbow items in general isn’t to show to support. I think it’s more along the lines of the stylist/idol wanting to wear something colourful and accidentally choosing something that happens to be from a pride collection. Of course there’s exceptions to this, I’m sure that some lgbt idols (most likely foreign) wear pride things to show support or even hint at their sexuality. But when idols wear pride stuff on official schedules it is most likely the stylist who picked out the clothes, and kpop stylists are not exactly known to do a lot of research before putting idols in clothes that are controversial or even insensitive

I’ve been lurking this thread for a while and I finally made an account just to reply to your comment. I really agree with your take on Lee know. He does ping me but at the same time he is a bit too private to tell. His comment in the interview with Jonathan could be seen as super sus or the straightest thing he’s ever said depending on how you look at it. I’ve seen a lot of people use the difference between how he interacts with girls (his fans) and boys (his members) as proof that he is gay. I don’t think that this is a fair comparison. I do believe that Hyunjin is queer. What settled it for me was when he said that he cried to Logic’s 1-800 mv which is about a guy struggling with his sexuality. Doesn’t feel very straight to me. I’m not a minsung shipper but Jisung does strike me as bi… I don’t really have anything to back that up tho. And to answer @freeluxx original question. To me personally, they feel like a group that could have many lgbtq members (I don’t believe that all of them are lgbtq tho). But then again, that feeling might just come from the fact that they all seem to be great allies. Anyways, here is Felix supporting the lgbtq community again to light up this thread a bit
