Jennie and Taehyung is hardly a pr stunt. Bts and Blackpink are the only S-tier. I do think that they knew that they would be observed and possibly filmed etc but didn’t really care. Bts and Blackpink are beyond Kpop in alot of ways. I feel like they can afford to act like western celebrities unlike most k-pop groups. I personally thought Taehyung was straight all the time. It´s unfair to call him pretentious because he likes stuff that are retro but he sorta gives off Timothee Chalamet vibes with his interest. Taehyung likes retro stuff and Hong Kong was the coolest place in Asia in the 90´s so him being a fan of one of the biggest HK actors Leslie Cheung is not really an indication of his sexuality. I am not dying on a hill with this one but Taehyung is basically the only Bts members i never wondered about his sexuality for a moment. Meaning he´s never pinged for me.

I think some older Idols post Military will eventually come out possibly, but I doubt we see an openly active Idol in the prime of their career come out for atleast 5, or probably 10 years. We know some members of ZB1 are gay, but unless they come out or Dispatch decide to change their policy there is plausible deniability. Korea don’t even have anti discrimination laws for foreigners, much less LGBTQ + and even when that happens it will be a long road ahead.

Yeah exacly. Being gay is such a big no no in Korean society. I think Korea is partially changing quite quickly and becoming more like western countries in these kinds of questions. I´d say thats true atleast among young people since they are exposed to alot more through Tiktok, Netflix and Youtube etc. Seeing as the straight trainees are in a world with a lot of Queer people around its obviously normalised to them in a way that its not for average Koreans their age. Considering alot of the trainees has been training since they were small kids this is probably more true. Like I saw some video where a gay Korean guy talked about being feminine in the army 10 years ago. He said that back then people didn’t pick up on the fact that he was gay and just found him cute, but that today most people would probably have known.

Hong Kong Films were hugely popular in Korea in the 80´s and 90´s. It was actually called Hong Kong Film syndrome. Leslie was a superstar in Asia and his character “Kit” in the movie A better tomorrow is basically the archetype for the current K-drama lead, A man who is tender and metro-sexual while still being able to fight like Bruce Lee lol. I just recently watched the drama Tale of the Nine Tailed and one of the characters were such a fan of his. Its shows how much of an impact he have still to this day in Korea. Taehyung loves alot of old school movies, music, fashion etc but it never looks fake and forced like with some people. Taehyung being such a Leslie Chung fan warms my heart.

I remember Kim Chang Min from the gay dating show "His man" saying alot of the contestants on straight dating shows were gay. Changmin was apparently on one of them on Mnet a few years before coming out.

I mean Soyoon is rumored to be part of the community herself. I might be numb from years of lHiphop and other genres besides kpop but I didnt really get why people are calling the lyrics misogynic. Bingo them boys are gay but good at mascing it, especcially Hanbin. Before I saw him wacking I would never have guessed. I belive Hui is and Keita too. Like Keita is pretty straight passing, but I got the feel he wasnt straight when watching YG treasure box. He was edited in a bad way on that show. Hes very likable on Boys planet. I actually believe he´s one of the straight ones. I am sure he´s an ally and not homophobic and I cant exactly explain why I belive hes straight but to me it feel like he very well could be. Playing a gay role does not automatically mean you’re gay after all. I watched alot of Gay Korean youtubers and I feel like gay men in Korea are very good at code switching regardless if they are femme or masc , because of how hard it it to be Gay there in comparison to most western countries. Then there is the military service and the discrimination and consequences you can face if you are outed. I love Sung Hanbin and Zhang Hao and I hope they all debut. They seem like they care alot about their fellow trainees . I do think are very smart and know how to look good on camera. Besides them being "caught " in bookstores (hanbin) and reading and studying Korean (zhanghao) they seem very very good at code switching. It feel surreal to have all these digital footprint out there with this latest generation of Idols. Like we don’t t have any one confirming anything off course but Denial is a river in egypt lol. I saw a Japanese person commenting on a Gay planet edit tiktok where they said Japanese people are clueless and just love their dancing lol. It would be amazing to have a group with this exposure with so many queer members. I am not speculating on anyone of the underage trainees but I feel like atleast 4 of the current top 9 is probably Queer. I am not completely satisfied with the current lineup but 4 of my faves are in.

I could see Heechul judging an episode in the first season. I know hes not everyones favourite for a variety of reasons but one thing he´s not is homophobic . Another potential judge is Eum who is an openly queer model. Not fully sure about their pronouns but they were a judge on high school fashion icon (Goganzi) season 2. Regarding Jungkook and the Word cup I honestly can say I am not surprised. I am sure if Jungkook really didn’t want to do it hybe wouldn’t have pressured him to. Koreans in general doesn’t not seem to take a particular large interest in things outside of Korea.. They are hive minded in alot of things and seem afraid to speak their mind even if they care since anything outside the norm seem to be able to lead exclusion, bullying etc. I would assume most members of Bts would accept doing the same except Taehyung and Rm for some reasons. I am not even part of the V and Rm are gay or on the queer spectrum camp. I just sort of get the feeling through some of their interest and actions that they would care alot more about what the Qatar stands for and has done then Jungkook.

I been waiting for this since 2020 when I learned about him. I hope he will have great freedom in his new company.

With yangyang and ten friendship i just get the sorta vibe you get from alot of gay mens planonic friendships. Like it's more of a ey gurl vibe then a ey bro vibe. Like the bickering and roasting. With Hendery i see him as like the kinda quiet at first stereotypical anime gamer dude. But once you know him hes extroverted. Like he just reminds me of some of some twitch streamers that fit that mold. I know their obviously are a shitons of gay weebs and gamers but for me he's not pinging.

I really want to discuss Nct and my thought, hopefully i wont summon the delu queen. Anyways let's assume 5% of the general population is queer, then i'd say the number is probably doubled or trippled amoung idols. I went to school in an artistic field for collage and about double was the case there. I am queer myself and I am friends with other queers so these are mainly based off my own experience and reading receipts Nct Dream I believe everyone is straight except Jaemin and maybe Jeno. Jaemin pings me alot. Its perhaps his voice, mothering instinct and skinship. Nct 127 Jaehyun and Winwin seem to be straight fuckbois. But sometimes Jaehyun confuse me so who knows I actually believe Doyoung is straight, but very supportive. If doyoung was gay I think he wouldnt be so chill when not asuming a fans gender or sexuality on v live. I think his brother is gay tho. Yuta on the other hand panicked when Doyoung said that. Yuta is such a mix. He's hyper masculine one second then hes more feminine the next. He cares alot and is fiercly loyal, but he's also very savage. I think he just reminds alot of gay friends I have. Taeyong is gay. He's got this outher shell and he seem so cold, but he seem so soft on the inside of that shell. He's very careful and calculated in his behavior on screen but he cant hide.
