This is not the thread for it, but I think if YG wanted to cut him out of the group, he would have. There was no logical reason to halt Winner with him. SHINee's had comebacks with members injured and it went reasonably well. Given Winner's overall treatment, to the cynical me it looks like an excuse to lock an underperforming group in the dungeon and lowkey blame Hyun. As for the causes of his depression related to the topic of the thread, well, we can only speculate. I'm not his therapist, but the statistics are quite clear.

According to YG, Taehyun's had "psychological problems" since his trainee days, but recently they worsened to the point of him being unable to promote with the rest of the group -- thus he's taking a medical leave, so to speak, while Winner's comeback gets "postponed indefinitely". I'm not going to enumerate all the ways in which I believe this is morally suspect, but that's the gist of it.

Trouble is that MAMAs are shit. Most of the groups suck donkey balls live; if the setup won't even let the true performers perform, it looks more and more like a waste of time. I'm getting tired of SHINee saving the show while getting half the screentime of a rookie group.

If SHINee don't go, the show is dead. Most of it is, frankly, an embarrassment; they and Big Bang tend to be the only good performances in it.

You know, I'd be right down with shippers shipping, it's an excellent cover-up when the need arises, if only they didn't go crazy at any opportunity, suitable or not. I don't want their social media flooded with stupidity -- or at least more stupidity.

This, and some whipped cream on top. Look at Beast and 2PM, once our biggest rivals. Where are they? Japan, so that they can make money. SHINee is the only boygroup of their generation (post-DBSK, pre-EXO) that's still doing well. I cannot understand why some fans are insecure. We've had a clear and successful run with zero serious scandals, the boys are getting recognized both as a group and as individuals, and they seem to enjoy their work more than ever. SHINee is the only SMEnt group sans Red Velvet with no scandals and no member changes. Eight years of going strong. Fans should be happy, thankful, and proud.

I'm not trying to presume about your friend, but I get the feeling that for a lot of straight people still, being queer is like smoking for a non-smoker. Like, it's no big deal, I can tolerate a friend who smokes, just don't breathe it in my face -- and I'd never try it myself, because, well, smoking is bad for you. They'd never admit it, but it seems to me that deep down there they still hate the sin, even though can be friends with the sinner.
