In other words, one does not escape from philosophy. Ordinary life is a part of it. So I'd say the opposite is true, it gives me a certain kind of sensitivity towards things (and myself), in other words the opposite of apathy. Deciding whether life actually has meaning is of secondary importance. I do good thinking and feeling things through in city transport, but that's because I can lose myself, I can stop paying attention to my surroundings (apart from basic precaution).
