he literally had a nose that perfectly fit his face before i literally don't get it. like, this isn't even a case of getting rid of a big nose, i honestly don't think the new one has elevated his looks. it frustates me because what was the point honestly. it's just an operation for the sake of getting one, as a now 8th year old idol. kibum did the same thing, a decade into his career and boom he got a nose job. it just saddens me to see even older idols get rid of their features when they've managed to keep them for so long

idols probably wait way less than the recommended rest period after their procedures to re-start their daily activities because of their intense schedules, and they literally have to dance and practice everyday for a living. i wonder how much this influences and correlates to eventual irregularities, it's very sad

can we talk about how gorgeous kang mina looks? i haven't kept up with her since early gugudan but with the recent news of her leaving jellyfish ent her pics were on the news sites , and how sad is it that i was honestly surprised at how recognizable and natural she still looks? I'm used to not being able to recognize idols after years of not keeping up with them because of the amount of procedures they get done, but whatever she has gotten has been very subtle and works really well. she still looks like her younger self imo but with obviously more mature features and less baby fat, she's glowing and she looks healthy

apparently he was asked about them during a fansign (why would you ask that ) and he said he's having an allergic reaction if anything i think maybe he's having a reaction to the injections then

definitely weight gain imo, he has an history of disordered eating to stay as thin as you're used to seeing him (as most idols), and i'm happy to see he's been eating well these past two years and put on weight. you can see he's off botox and fillers which is good, and it's a good example on how natural facial fat looks and is placed differently than injected fillers, it doesn't give you that tight, bloated look i'm just really glad to see him back and to see he's healthy and i hope two years around normal looking, non- idol people and without any procedure helped him see they're not as necessary as the industry wants to make you think they are, but that's just my hopeless wish everytime an idol comes back from the military, once they're back in the loop the injections start all over again and i can't blame them as the industry standards are what they are, he has already gotten pann posts about his face lol give him a break seriously

i think she probably just gets masseter botox , her jawline has considerably reduced but it doesn't really have the tell signs of a typical jaw shave

i agree that selfies aren't a good reference but you know you can just google 'taehyung selfie' to see the stark difference between then and now right. his nose job is obvious enough to me from the pics that were provided, especially in an industry where if something looks different, more likely than not it's because it is. some of the very first pictures posted at the beginning of this discussion were perfect side by side same angle comparisons but you keep not seeing the difference, and that's ok. i bet everyone here has an 'unpopular opinion' on some topics and procedures that are usually agreed on by everyone. we just agree to disagree, and move on

his philtrum area also looks longer now since the nose tip is smaller

if you look at his nose bridge in the side profile pictures, it used to be straight, while now it has a slight 'beak'. it's probably a pollybeak deformity which can happen when one has a nose job

i also doubt she's had buccal fat removal now but if she's had it done in her 20s that would explain why now in her 30s the loss of fat in her cheeks it's starting to become more noticeable

i think he may have gotten chin fillers so maybe that's why his face seems different, other than that + weight loss i'm not sure? he doesn't look much different from how he's been looking for a while now to me and his jaw has always been the same

dawon is one of the most unfortunate cases of ps in kpop for me. she used to have this gorgeous more mature kind of beauty, she was so stricking, and now all of her original features are gone the new lip fillers also don't look good at all imo, and is that chin filler? her chin and face in overall just look very long here

if he has the same nose shape all the time even in the military it's probably not the nose clips yeah that seems too much of a reach he probably just got smth done to his nose

i'm not familiar with him so i can't actually answer your question, but i thought i'd remind this thread that these nose clips exist and that someone way back had found a pic of an idol where you could clearly see it inside their nose. i'm not sure how practical it is for idols' long schedules and performances, but they do use them, just something to keep in mind. the third pic you posted reminded me of the shape this creates that's why i'm bringing it up

that's true, which is why i said that kpop companies probably look at them as a reference but are taking it a step further making the virtual idols look super realistic and wanting the public to see them as similar as actual kpop idols as they can. vocaloids aren't the only virtual idols that exist tho, but they're the most popular i guess, someone i know is literally going to a concert with about 20 virtual idols from a gacha game

virtual idols are already very popular in japan and china and their concerts sell out, it sounds dystopian but they just basically put a projection/hologram of the idol on stage and loads of people go to see them. i can definitely see kpop companies trying to recreate that success but going a step further by making the idols hyper realistic looking

someone a few pages back mentioned hoshi getting lip fillers, i think they're really evident in this video

honestly she still looks gorgeous but this is so disheartening. once upon a time all you "needed" to debut was the standard nose job + double eyelid work (and occasional jaw shave if you were from sm), and if you got something else usually it was more down the line and when you were older. nowdays idols debut already having gotten so many procedures at such a young age and with their faces already full of fillers and botox from the get-go, not even giving them a chance to grow into their natural features. i just keep getting turned off from the industry more and more thank you so much for your analysis, it was really helpful! i'm curious about one of the things you mentioned, can you elaborate on what you mean by her getting a few body modifications?

can someone more familiar with yooa tell me if she's always had this bump on her nose? if so, i'm pleasantly surprised not only she kept it but that they didn't smooth it out in the photoshoot. her lip fillers also look way better now i hope she doesn't overdo it again 'cause she's looking gorgeous
