  1. "tagged hurt& comfort" dead, from what I've read I think the article was supposedly from years ago. Also women sense posting about a boy group lover's quarrel is "interesting" to say the least.
  2. lol my point was more how some things just seem like fodder for shippers more than anything else. I'm all for discussing who is gay in kpop hence my reason for being here and maybe I'm not articulating myself properly but something of that post isn't doing much for me other than lol nice fanfic. I think there is a difference between speculating based on some of the things you mentioned and a blind item that reads like a wattapad story honestly but that's just me
  3. That's fair, although I'll be honest I would hope that if said member collapsed, everyone around them would be showing concern but idk I read it and to me it just felt like something to fuel more shipper, and specifically shipper, discussions and nothing more than that.
  4. I'm not that familiar with Women Sense but they don't strike me as something that would publish a piece like this, I know this was posted on Pann but did they ever link to the actual article? I was with them until they talked about how the performance had to be canceled. I really don't think management would cancel a performance because of a "lover's spat", the many times idols have recounted stories of getting into heated arguments and then having to perform right after that proves other wise. I find it amusing that the manager "sensed" something was up because member B showed immense concern for member A because they collapsed though
  5. I don't know if the KHH scene is that much more open minded or it's more they have less of an image to put on? I still think any celeb in korea, whether it's the indie scene, kpop, KHH will struggle with being completely out in the open, and sure there are strides being made and I think you are more likely to see a non idol come out than an idol but idk if it has to do with KHH being more open minded than it has to do how it is marketed.
  6. the many things that are happening in this one message but lol bless ten, despite some of his past sexual innuendos, I actually think he genuinely wasn't thinking about it like that while he typed it up and meant it in the literal sense. That being said I do wonder how global of a term that is and how many people genuinely still use it in 2022 because I honestly feel like no one really uses it like that anymore
  7. this is a cute post and I actually agree with this list, although I thought technically ten would be part of 3rd generation but I can never keep up with when one generation in kpop ends and when one starts but I've heard people refer to nct especially those that debuted in 2016, which he did.
  8. I don' know much about Jun from A.C.E so maybe there are other receipts for him, but I always find that with any celebs doing BL dramas, most of the time the people doing them aren't actually lgbt
  9. I probably should have phrased that better but when I read it it back before posting, I thought it was clear I was solely talking about that incident with taeyong as a kid and not adult taeyong
  10. I feel some type of way ngl about heechul constantly being used if only because he has always been vocal about his love for women. I think he is a special case because he came around a time that people might not have been as familiar with how to process his level of fanservice, man was going around kissing his members on stage and iirc he did send his support to the community, which around his time I don't think many idols were doing and I know his case has probably scarred some people who genuinely thought he was gay so he is always used as a bit of a gotcha example
  11. emphasis on "kid" being in that moment when he made that comment towards his friend there was just as much of a chance he was being an asshole as there was "oh he was being an insecure gay kid", I never said that is how I perceive him now.
  12. apologize if I am not remembering correctly, but I think the one thing that bugged me about that taeyong quote was not necessarily him saying he was awkward but that he didn't understand them and it rubbed me the wrong way, regardless of how I perceive his sexual orientation so then to see it being used as a point towards his potentially being lgbt, was weird to me. I do think there are some things taeyong has done that might suggest he is queer, which is why I won't ever say with absolute certainty I think he is straight, I just think in his case some of the things used in his favor I find a little questionable. Heechul is such a bizarre scenario and for all we know he might be bi, but I never understood people who wanted to pretend he also didn't like women when he would be so vocal about his creepy crush on sohee, or talk about dates with women. Ngl I did not expect ryeowook to find himself a gf, that one definitely surprised me a bit. Also you and the other user make a good point about how key, jo kwon, ren are probably on a tier of their own of not only checking off those traits that most people would perceive as gay but also immersing themselves in the community. I do keep in mind though that every lgbt person is different and some people might be less likely to be seen as an advocate for xyz reasons, whether its because they themselves are not ready, or don't care to be, or unfortunately very well aware of their fanbase, its funny how some of the "gayest" members have an insane amount of gf fans. thanks for clarifying about the radio incident because while I've said over and over that I don't think sehun is straight and he has other incidences that prove he possibly is attracted to men and may even had relationships with them, I wasn't quite sure if the radio incident or the knowing brothers incident with baekhyun were meant to be added to the "list of proof"
  13. you're white aren't you? (lol I see that ticked some people off here) anyways, let me just say now I seriously think nothing you say holds merit anymore and the fact that you would compare that blatant cultural appropriation and claim that oh well if taeyong were really straight then "posing the way he does" mean's he is "appropriating" appropriating what exactly but your comparison is an utter complete joke and atp I think you should never speak on cultural/racial issues nor should you even speak on lgbt related things either
  14. again such reading comprehension fail because no one here said taeyong is a straight homophobic asshole so idk why you are getting bent out of shape and talking about it like people here said it
  15. this is slightly off topic but in talking about idols and whether they'd ever be able to come out (should they want to, maybe some idols are just fine playing the idol game and then they can go about their business without fans ever knowing) I remember reading an interview with Key and unfortunately can't remember the date but he did talk about wanting to move to California at some point, which I thought was interesting. It made me wonder if some of these idols desire these places that in their minds would seem a lot more "open" to them especially if any of them desire to have families even though the west is certainly no utopia by any means.
  16. I guess to your point you know even if there are some idols I am 99% confident about being queer, we'll never know exactly how they define themselves. someone like jo kwon, we can only speculate and even someone like him where I'd like to believe most people unanimously believe he falls under the umbrella, still I guess we would never exactly know what he himself defines as.
  17. not jay park, hasn't the lgbt community suffered enough
  18. I'm sorry what? Why would a straight guy "do all this" what exactly is taeyong doing besides his job of posing for concept pictures, which is something that the company would be overseeing and seeing as it is the superM album, I'm guessing the location and the concept was not chosen by taeyong but by management. Again I don't have strong opinions on taeyong either way, he doesn't ping me, but I'm not like omg he is straight without a doubt but the things you say are just....like what the hell are you even talking about?
  19. I do agree to an extent that it is largely all speculative, I have mixed feelings about how we'll never know until an idol comes out if only because lbr idt any idol is coming out soon and I guess "coming out" how does one define that too, because from a western pov where generally celebs will come out either with a social media post or back in the day used to appear on a magazine cover, don't think kpop idols will be doing that any time soon. I actually think a separate topic would be redefining the whole concept of "coming out" but that's a whole other story a het kevin moon is certainly an interesting concept.
  20. omg thank you! feels like I'm taking crazy pills everytime I see their posts, it also irks me to no end that so many people excuse his past comments to prove he is gay, like taeyong could very well be queer and internalized homophobia is a thing but there is just as much of a chance that taeyong was being an asshole of a kid
  21. I feel like we're all in agreement (for the most part) that sehun isn't straight, as another user said I think "queer in some capacity" probably fits him best. there are certain things he does that its hard to interpret any other way other than just straight up attraction to men, I actually think the usage of the pride filter was hilarious, his homophobic fans had a field day with that. sehun was foul for that ig live, you had his het fans celebrating and then everyone else being utterly confused. I still question what possessed him to even address that comment in the first place. I used to jokingly say he denied he was gay, never denied he was part of the alphabet community
  22. my apologies for making assumptions. I just think taeyong can sometimes be a very awkward person in general so whenever he "panics" I don't feel any type of way or interpret it as something that can be added as "evidence" also the "whatsoever" was a bit of an exaggeration but I don't really get anything from him either way which is why I don't have a firm opinion but I must say I do get a kick out of your posts although tbh a lot of your "evidences" actually just end up doing the opposite for me than I think what you intended and I'll just leave it at that
  23. I'm not totally disagreeing with you btw, I think from my pov its more like you said they made such blatant jokes on especially broadcast where people like jo-kwon who is probably the most out idol of idols without saying felt the need to clarify about "misunderstandings", it had me questioning for a minute whether or not the audience was meant to interpret that way you know what I mean, the radio show was one thing, but the one on knowing brothers is where I was a little unsure what direction they were going with in their jokes, if only because I've seen straight dudes tease their friends for being "gay" but not actually being gay if there were even a little bit "effeminate and not manly" but I definitely maintain I don't think sehun is straight so I feel like we are in agreement with that, and lol so true on your point of bi men being thought of as gay but bi women being thought of as straight, why is that? Also hopefully I'm not misunderstanding you but your second point is an interesting one because fanservice goes both ways, there are people who I firmly think are gay, who are very good at entertaining their gf fans during fansigns so playing the y/n game doesn't indicate someone is straight and at the same time like you said with the shippy/gay fanservice, I don't think it means anything either which is why I said I think idols who are queer, it goes beyond just how they engage with their group members. Imo I've seen people who I think are gay who engage in shippy fanservice and are touchy feely, and then I've seen people who I think are lgbt who really don't engage with fanservice. Some of the straightest members are the touchiest too so it really depends
  24. is there anything seungkwan has done that would indicate he isn't gay or is it just some people being like okay no he is tooo stereotypically gay something has to be "off". I think "queer in some capacity" is probably the most fitting description for sehun. tbf idk how common beards are in the kpop industry because I would think the "concept of a beard" only makes sense if you are public with it you know.
  25. the thing with sehun though, and I probably sound like I'm all over the place and contradicting myself, but I am aware he has a lot of conservative fans and I've heard of some rumors but too but I was never sure whether or not it was some of his het fans trying to make shit up, god knows how easy it is to photoshop on ig and link idols to some random ig person, but atp I would settle on bi as well.
