  1. lmao I mean he doesn't write his own songs, he was given them and they probably don't alter the lyrics much. SM is so heteronormative sometimes, in the mv behind he was describing the song and said it's about a person you love and how you want to show them your love and he kept it gender neutral but whoever did the English translations said "her", which was annoying. They translation team is always doing things like that
  2. To be honest I don't have much information on that, when I first heard about it it seemed super random because I had no idea who Yury was or that he was even sm's model subsidiary. I don't think anyone has actually ever seen them interact or well if they have, it's been kept well hidden, the mention of the best dancer could be seen as a fanboy thing and well Ten is an amazing dancer, but iirc he also had a signed wayv album and some people found that suspect since if its signed chances are ten gave it to him and he doesn't seem like much of a wayv fan. I think the thing that kind of made me pause is the fact that he unfollowed ten at some point, which I think is a bit interesting because he went from calling him the best dancer he's ever seen and having his album to suddenly unfollowing him and I guess some people think if he were just a fan or knew ten in a more casual friend way there would be no reason to unfollow. Tbqh he kind of comes across as a bit of a douche so if there was anything there I'm glad it's in the past.
  3. Are you referring to when Ten went to hongkong in 2017 and people spotted him with another guy? Iirc it was another person back then, there were some pictures that fans took when they spotted ten with someone else and from what I remember the build of the person he was with was different from Yury. I think any pictures have since been wiped but I will never forget a fan posting a picture and with the caption ten and his "friend", not sure if they were trying to imply something with the quotes. The theory about Ten and Yury came about a bit later and some people assume theorize they might have been a thing in 2019.
  4. just to clarify, and this isn't me saying I believe it's Sehun because I hope not, but about that whole rumor and I know that Sojang is a horrible source, but a blind item had been going around for quite some time from a different source, but ofcourse they didn't name names. I think it got picked up when Sojang decided to post on her youtube and make it seem like she knew who it was, but the original piece of information just had the salon workers talk about idols coming to that establishment, but I don't think any names were mentioned. I will say unfortunately that more idols probably do go to these establishments than we think. that being said Sojang absolutely needs to be taken down.
  5. Right?! That user keeps trying it and it's kind of annoying like why are we now basing who is gay or not based on how they deal with their fanbase, I think that's kind of unfair.
  6. This might not seem like a big thing for people but when superM were on knowing brothers and Baekhyun was telling a predebut story about how he kind of "made it" can't remember all the details but he talked about how this student, forget what age the student was" but he gave him like a piece of candy and Baekhyun thought wow the boy must think he's a cool artist, where as if it was a girl you know there was the chance she could have given it to him because she thought he was cute/had a crush. I swear the way Ten was looking at him when he said that was kind of amusing. But yeah nothing about Baekhyun gives me queer vibes and another user brought up showering, but I think culturally that's common
  7. about that ren vlive, just want to say I have seen times where people who do the subbing for vlives be horribly innacurate especially back then, so we can't even say for sure if what he said actually meant "completely straight". also this looks like this was from 2018 and it seems in recent years ren is much more comfortable with himself and probably has a different answer to give if he were asked again. he talked about the burdens of an adrogynous image back then but interestingly in 2021 he took on the role of hedwig in the musical so I don't know if it's fair to use an older clip like that. I'm sure someone could probably pull up an old clip of jo kwon saying he wishes people wouldn't misunderstand him but he's also in some ways one of the most " out" idols without having come out
  8. We'll obviously never know what the intention was and I know there is debate on whether it's the lighting or an effect or w/e, I personally think it is something he did add using something like picsart and and I understand rainbows do not autotmatically equal pride, some people just like to add it for various reasons, but it is amusing that this picture was posted during pride month and if one were scrolling quickly it could look like he had a pride pin.
  9. I understand why people see it as more androgynous and maybe he meant for it to be gender neutral but both figures have certain "masculine" qualities , one of them kind of looks like it has an adam's apple but I think he drew it in abstract way so it's not obvious but I also think it was his way of trying to draw something gay without it being too obvious imo and it is a piece where people can interpret it in many ways, light vs dark etc but it is an interesting piece
  10. I'm not going to rule out the possibility of heechul being lgbt in some aspect, did he ever have some kind of relationship with men maybe so, but also most queer men in korea are not going to be pushing for their gay rumors to date women that alone told me that while he might have been supportive of the lgbt community, he wasn't one of them. I just think heechul likes to push people's buttons and he likes to stretch boundaries and for the time that suju debuted people probably just didn't know how to read him, between him going around kissing members on stages to the whole heesica thing.
  11. We're going to have to majorly agree to disagree, also heechul and key are not comparable at all. You claim that people perceived heechul only to be gay before momo and that it suddenly shifted afterwards and I'm telling you that if anyone paid attention he had talked about and shown he was into women way before that. I think using heechul has some kind of gotcha moment is the issue here, like not him. Heechul's blatant display of interest in women goes far beyond the ideal types or even some of the "scripted moments" you might seen on shows take for example key being on wgm. If an idol who is thought to be gay goes on record saying their ideal type is x type of girl, I'm not going to give it much thought. I just think people need to stop using heechul has an example of anything in this thread period. Also lol men can absolutely have female friends who trust them and still be creepy towards other girls. I also think, perhaps, that heechul came around a time where fans were perhaps not used to the level of fanservice he was giving or some of the things he did, going around kissing members on stage really isn't a receipt anymore imo. I kind of understand your point in that does one public relationship suddenly mean they aren't queer and ofcourse not, one a lot of people tend to overlook that if a person is bi, most likely their relationships with men will be hidden and the ones that they can go public with are women. I think wonho is an example where most people perceive him to be lgbt and iirc he's had relationships with women and no one thinks that it means he is any less queer. I just think heechul is the wrong person to bring up in this case
  12. really not understanding why heechul was brought up in a comparison to key/jo kwon. He might be queer and maybe that relationship with him and his hairdresser was a thing but the reason people believed heechul and momo is because if you paid attention heechul was in fact into women and said as much multiple times. From his creepy crush to sohee, to him talking about dates with women, to his friends talking about it, including snsd who called him out for helping spread gay rumors about him so he could date women (which by the way I find shitty considering how lgbt suffer in korea) him being into women has been a consistent thing.
  13. I was just going to say they have said some pretty ignorant stuff regarding taeyong too, will never forget them saying a simple pose taeyong did meant he had to be lgbt because if not it would be like culture appropriation
  14. thank you! like they keep saying they are done and this is the last post but keep coming back
  15. that's not what what you were doing with your original post by the way so please stop
  16. if it's not that deep then why do you continue to make really weird and obsessive posts about it? Damn I was really hoping you were 16 or something
  17. it's hilarious that someone is getting so bent out of shape over the concept of a person being multifaceted as if taeyong is unique in that respect, many idols are like that heck, many human beings can enjoy a variety of interests whether it be something people normally associate with children like cartoons, or more adult themed things
  18. I love this and helium is such a great song. I think it was here that someone said a while back that you can might be able to get a sense of who is gay or at least who is close to the lgbt community (obviously not a guarantee) based on the dance community within kpop, that quite a few of the dancers/choreographers are lgbt.
  19. I feel like I'm going to regret replying to you but here goes, and let me preface by saying I have no opinion on taeyong in general, not a fan but I don't dislike him, but that bubu nickname annoys me because if anyone has paid attention the man is anything but childlike, fans have a habit of infantilizing their favs especially male idols and can't grasp the concept that a person can be many different things, omg how could a man like spongebob and also write lyrics like whiplash, but anyways I don't think it means anything to consume something that has problematic elements. I don't think it is necessarily a reflection of someone's attitudes towards a subject matter because we don't know how they are digesting said piece, like you said they don't depict it in a way that's meant to be positive. This might be an unfair comparison idk, but game of thrones for example has many rape scenes, scenes that can often come across as objectifying women and it was more or less a pop culture phenomenon that was enjoyed by many people. all this to say, I do apologize for being rude but what does any of this have to do with the topic at hand? This feels like something to be discussed in a general taeyong thread more so than anything else. Also I'm sorry to say this but you're comments on taeyong are just very bizarre in general and if you are just trying to make sense of him as a fan that's fine, but I don't think this particular topic is the place for it
  20. I actually don't think he deserves to be commended in anyway for what he is saying, yeah he's basically advocated for the separation of church/state and that whatever your views are religiously it shouldn't impact laws, which is fine and that is how it should be but his "neutral" stance imo leaves a lot to be desired especially as someone whose business profits off of queer fans like you said. the way I read it, he also seems to back that these people have the right to believe what they want, and for all we know many of these people probably still hold the belief that gay people are going to hell so his response is still weak to me. The idea that you can believe a group of people are inherently evil, but hey I can't dictate what the law says still is shitty and does nothing imo to help the lgbt community. Idk maybe I'm expecting too much but if I were him I would have used that opportunity to talk about the hypocritical interpretation of the bible, that jesus never actually hated gay people and if you actually saw yourself as a christian, you wouldn't discriminate yourselves but hey that's me. I guess I'm just tired of people coddling/taking into consideration the feelings of bigots and essentially still saying that they technically still have a right to be hateful because I don't think that does anything to move society forward.
  21. ohhh my bad! thanks for the clarification, yeah that's fair but I feel like for me it's hard to draw a conclusion because we have so little to go off of. Dino made it sound like whoever this Yewon is, she's someone who can calm down Dino when he's in a mood, but also if he's asking where she is at, it makes it seem like someone that the group knows, which is why I thought it was someone on their staff, or like a common friend, more so than his gf you know?
  22. It could be anyone, but I think chances are it's a staff member since I assume they were at the company building. I think DK's reaction is hilarious but the comments saying he most likely reacted that way because they mentioned the name of someone who isn't "a celeb" which I guess makes sense. I've noticed that idols will just address staff members as noona/hyung without ever specifying
  23. I hope my original post didn't seem like I was knocking you for even bringing it up in the first place and I agree to an extent, some blind items aren't totally unrealistic and they shouldn't be dismissed on the account of them being blind items. I'm still unsure whether this magazine even published said article ngl but I guess that's a different story all together because it sounds like this source came from Pann and there seems to be some discrepancy on when the article was even published I have no issues with shippers in the general sense, I think my main issue when a thread about who is gay starts to become more of a "let me use this opportunity to push my ship as real" it takes away from the original convo but I see your point that this space should allow for all types of conversations.
