i can tell this thread is often just me lmao
it's def an acquired taste since he's doing that 80s vocal effects thing! personally i'm into it because it's stylistic and not like freaky autotune. also i like the MV better because Eyes on Me MV is sooo budgetless. but it is seasonally perfect for Cali where i am rn i will say.
as a california gurl I approve
how do you like it there?

It’s 1993, and another warm, bright summer is fast approaching in the small town of Kaora, a picturesque village alongside the sea. Y/N has come from Kyoto to visit their grandparents for the summer and soak up all of the rich culture living in the countryside has to offer. When Y/N arrives, they are surprised to find the beachside bustling with tourism.
“Since when did you have this many visitors?” Y/N asks their grandmother curiously.
“The past few months, more and more people are trying to escape the city for a while. We’ve quickly become a hot tourist spot!” Their grandmother happily explains.
But Y/N notices that the village isn’t exactly suited for visitors. There are a few inns and restaurants, but nothing fresh and fun to get business bustling. A natural-born entrepreneur, Y/N starts planning out their bright idea. A noodle shop right on the beach!
Dearest citizens of OH, please bring your attention to the smash hit, story-based summer event that we've brought you! Set on the beaches of 1993 Japan, it's up to you to capitalize on the growing tourism in your hometown and reap all the profits. There are eight stands available, each with a maximum capacity of three users and a minimum of one. Your goal is to generate the most yen and positive reviews by the end of the summer.
☆ OVERVIEW ☆
GAMEPLAY - EARNING YEN ¥
Each individual/team will create their noodle stand and a schedule for which days you will be open. You have the creative liberty to create your own products, each priced at 300 Yen.
Players are allowed to bring business to their shop by any means possible. Pretty graphics, interesting menu items, gifts for buyers, sabotageDon’t be afraid to get messy, but be careful! There will be an anonymous form for citizens to review your shop. Each positive review counts for five reputation points. Each negative one deducts three points.GAMEPLAY - REPUTATION ±
Arguably the most important part of running a successful business is having a good reputation among your customers! Good customer service, friendly staff, and quality products are all key to being the best in the business. Bad reviews and gossip can harm your business, so be careful! There will be an anonymous form for citizens to review the shops. How your shop fares is purely up to how well you treat your patrons.
YEN REVENUE - HOW IT WORKS
Citizens (non-competing users) are required to post in a “daily check-in” thread to earn their Yen. Yen only lasts 24 hours. At 00:00 KST, their Yen will be reset and citizens need to check-in again to redeem their Yen for the next day. Total Yen will be the main measurement for the competing teams to win the event.REPUTATION - HOW IT WORKS
Reputation is gained through reviews. Reputation score will not affect the score to win, but a higher reputation will give more advantages later on. By the end of the event, the reputation scores will be converted into plats. At the end of the game, the stand with the most reputation will earn a special prize.☆ PRIZES ☆
base prizes. everyone participating will receive these.
All yen earned will be converted into wons.
All reputation earned will be converted into plats.tiered prizes. for the top three~
1st place : custom stamp + 300,000 won + 15 plats
2nd place : 200,000 won + 10 plats
3rd place : 100,000 won + 5 plats
citizen prizes. for all the citizens!
For every 600 yen citizens spend, they can earn 3000 won or one plat.
At the end of the game, if a citizen has spent over 10000 yen, they can earn 10 plats.☆ SCHEDULE ☆
The game is designed to be as low-stress as possible, so there should be plenty of time for users to open their shops and promote. The goal is to have fun and earn prizes!TBA
