  1. I mean, I understand that he isn't putting as much at risk as someone who was actually coming out, but Korea is conservative enough that even openly supporting lgbt rights could be controversial. So yes, at least to some extent, I do think he was courageous. How many public figures in Korea have actually come out as allies? I think any public support of lgbt rights in Korea is a step forward, even if it's "only" allies. I do acknowledge that some people have definitely overplayed the whole thing, but he definitely did do something good and well-meaning and isn't "unworthy" of praise.
  2. The Jonghyun thread now has enough likes to be on the "Highest Reputation Content" page.
  3. I can't even deal with my feelings right now Seriously how does one be so great.
  4. Everything Shinee-related today is really touching my heart.
  5. 2% ratings seriously. This show is setting records for being a flop. But I still like it. :(
  6. Most of the time, but not always. It's fairly common with asexuals, who don't experience sexual attraction but do experience some sort of romantic attraction. It can also apply to sexual people occasionally.
  7. Well, that may be the case most of the time, but for some people sexual and romantic orientations differ. It's completely possible for someone to be biromantic but homosexual, it's just not all that common.
  8. Sorry about the minus that was a legit mistake on my part I think they're adorable and I ship them too. OTL
  9. Yep it happens. ^^ And also, you can't really know how the all the connotations and nuances of the word unless you actually know Korean. It might be inappropriate to use "disgusting" that way in English, but we really can't know for sure if that word works the same way in Korean. Plus, I don't think anyone should really be judged this harshly for writing one word with an ambiguous meaning (to foreigners at least). You really can't know what he was actually thinking.
  10. I think Hanryu was saying that if a straight person was kissed by someone of the same sex and they show their dislike of it it's not necessarily homophobic.
  11. It's either that or extreme feminism. >.>
  12. Exactly. I prefer Botong to all the other generic tough girls who somehow become super weak and end up needing to be constantly rescued by their love interest, which K-dramas are full of. She's so much more relatable, and realistic. She's obsessed with MaTe and isn't afraid to show it, which I think is very refreshing and adorable compared to all of the other K-drama heroines who deny their love until the very end.
  13. No it's mostly been around forever. ^^ Before, any woman who was slightly different was just accused of "witchcraft."
  14. You look really nice in that picture. ^^
  15. Even after all that plastic surgery she still looks like the same person, it's interesting.
  16. Maybe you were biromantic but heterosexual? It's possible. (but of course I don't know you or your feelings so...)
  17. ^Yep, that's how I see it. I have tons of platonic crushes at any given moment, and very rarely if ever have a romantic crush.
  18. Mm okay, I've always been a bit fuzzy on what sexual attraction actually is in practice, though the definition is pretty clear I guess.   Well, disregarding the sexual element, at a certain point, the boundaries between platonic and romantic admiration can get a bit blurry, especially if you're not actually close with the person. But if you define a crush as someone you want to have sex with, then I guess it's fairly black and white and makes it impossible to have "girl crushes." It's all in the way you define the terms.
  19. Well, I guess it depends on your meaning of "sexually attractive" and how it differs from simply aesthetically attractive. And as for the crushes, I guess crushes don't necessarily have to be sexual in nature and can stem from a deep admiration or respect, and end up mimicking those based on sexual attraction.
