i’ve gone down the rabbit hole the past days and i’m obsessed with watching photocard collection videos. if there’s one thing to be happy about in the uk, it’s the merch accessibility. i’m gonna start buying enhypen photocards for 5 bucks and it’s gonna be damn good – people who sell photocards for more than 5-6 euros are straight up scammers i swear on another note, i read up recently that jyp is switching to selling photocard packs with a digital album code a la victon and i’m so down for it. not quite sure how available they’ll be for overseas fans but it’s good to see prices drop and paper saved. a friend of mine bought a version of enhypen’s manifesto and all the photos in the photobook were already uploaded on weverse for free, so what’s the point if the photos are already out there? could have had a nice dinner out instead of an album

you know i kinda find myself disagreeing with the tweets in this post. the last things i would think characterise niki’s childhood are ‘gender expression’, ‘premise of freedom’ or whatever else op has written. the truth of the matter is that he was/is a stage child who did/does multiple concepts. okay sure, he did women’s hiphop, he wore feminine clothes, but he was also dressed up in key’s iconic bdsm get-up at around age 10, which i find dodgy at best. it was niki’s parents that pushed him to do various concepts, and he did them because he had to do them. if anything, i’d call him sheltered, because all of this non-conformity exists in a bubble. the same goes for sunghoon. the two of them grew up with their only life goal being performance, and at the end of the day the two of them lack in social skills there’s nothing open-minded about forcing your toddler into competition and stage lights and i’ll stand by that. i don’t think either of them mean harm to sunoo, but i can see where the confusion stems from and why they’re meaner with sunoo than the others. sunoo’s perceived queerness isn’t a concept or an act – he’s a guy that happens to be queer. and i think both psh and niki are trying to cope with that by teasing him more than the others, like @poffertje pointed out. but i don’t think the way they act towards him is a pointer towards their own sexualities, it just shows how they’ve been conditioned to deal with queerness. ANYWAY enough with me playing armchair psychologist, any more tea on enha?

honestly agree, the two groups are pretty much on par but the main reason i don’t enjoy watching txt as much is that i don’t vibe with their humour as much. hyuka is very very fun though and soobin too bc i don’t think he tries to be funny, he’s just himself lol i think the reason i’m so weak for enhypen content is that [sobstory time] my mental health had a sharp decline the time i started getting into them. last year i got super sick during easter and i physically couldn’t study for exams so i turned on the enhypen content as a distraction and they’ve stuck with me since. sure they’re not very entertaining for non-fans cuz they’re all super awkward and the fat jokes are… well they’re a load of bullshit, but i am optimistic that they can grow from it. hopefully. lmao honestly it also baffles me but ig it kinda makes sense? two big 4 boy groups who debuted the same year… that’s all fans need to pit them against each other. it’s honestly kinda fun to see engenes and teumes in arms cuz they literally fight for the dumbest shit (apparently filo engenes call jake jekjek but filo teumes call jaehyuk jekjek so they were arguing about who coined it first…). even today!!! haruto is under fire for saying homophobic shit and engenes allegedly started spreading the clip and teumes brought up enhypen’s fat jokes and now there’s a proper fanwar going on for no reason. insanity if i had to judge 4th gen bg music…

ohoooo the tea is steaming here so i’m just gonna throw some opinions cuz i wanna be a negative nancy barring enhypen (obv) i mostly agree with this list i love txt’s discography but their variety doesn’t do it for me. although enhypen have less chemistry with each other i feel like they don’t force themselves to be funny, txt kinda come off as a bit forced at times. with lesserafim i think they’re all gorgeous but their music isn’t quite my style yet so i’m patiently waiting for the comeback! i’ll go on record here and say, holy fuck i can’t stand treasure. like i know there’s the saying that ‘an engene can never be a teume’ and vice versa, but in my defense i disliked them before stanning enhypen lol. i watched their variety and they all had these luxurious solo rooms decked out in imac’s and recording equipment and other expensive shit and my only thought was “how much of this money comes from illegal shit”. teumes also have a superiority complex for some reason? my friend once had an argument with a teume who was saying that “treasure are objectively better than enhypen cuz they write their own music”, to which my friend replied “just because they write their own music doesn’t mean it’s good”. which is true! and i mean, if treasure members’ peak songwriting is boy and jikjin… maybe ban them from entering the studio next time they just overall give me the nastiest vibes, not to mention their albums which are smaller than my palm cost 45 euros. thank u next there’s loads of other groups i think are lame but those don’t annoy me on a spiritual level like treasure, i just think their music is kinda bad lol. seventeen is the first group that comes to mind, i just find their music so bland. monsta x for me have also really fallen off ever since wonho left (and even before that), but now wonho releases some really good music so i can’t bring myself to care for mx. there’s also others like nct dream, tbz, fromis, kard, half the 4th gen boy group rookies… i can’t think of any other names rn lol, they’re all just kinda in the kpop purgatory for me

i don't think them liking each other is totally out of the realm of possibility. i think with minsung in particular what made me go from 'hmmm they're just besties' to 'ok maybe something is going on here' is the way the members talk about them. i do agree that minsung comes off as one-sided, particularly from minho's part, because jisung tends to be very affectionate and flirty with everyone. but in their most recent 2kr changbin said something along the lines of: "when jisung wants to calm minho down, he says 'why are you yelling, honey?'". like idk!! that's so... domestic it makes me wanna cry. not to mention, felix and changbin called their relationship 'secretive' because jisung is the only one in skz minho will talk to honestly about his worries. also seungmin saying that these two should not be broken apart at any cost (well kinda lol) and all of them agreeing that they're soulmates. and this all was said in one (1) video! link here btw another thing that makes me melt with them is something smaller i guess. jisung has some nervous habits, in particular shaking his legs. there's been loads of instances where minho will put a hand on his thigh to help him stop/ground him and i just find it so sweet atp i don't care if they're into each other but their bond is one of a kind i swear as far as woosan goes, i'm not really well-versed in them cuz i don't follow ateez, but they're def in the same realm as minsung. they just seem so genuine, i watched some clips from a wooyoung live where he was talking to san on the phone and it was so wholesome it made me wanna vomit rainbows. they do loads of fanservice, but i don't think they mind being skinshippy with one another. i tend to see people say that it's one-sided from san's part, and while it's true that he comes off as more clingy, i don't think it's an indicator that he likes wooyoung more than wooyoung likes him. imo their dynamic is more balanced than minsung, but then again idk much about ateez so!! feel free to correct me on another note, what's the tea on just b? lim jimin is serving non-straight vibes, but funnily enough it's gonna be geonu and chu jimin playing in a bl! neither of them ping me tho

the way i relate SO HARD omfg... like imagine my shock when i turn on the newest just b with no expectations and like i'm not really attracted to men but there's some particular kpop boys that scratch that itch. jeon woong and lim jimin for me in particular, they are plain HOT like omfg. i think they're overlooked (mostly jimin) cuz they're prettier than the average kpop hottie but they're sexier than the average kpop pretty boy. like you could never catch me swooning over bm or cha eunwoo types but these guys just GET it ykwim? i was also a big fan of just b's debut, for a while i was like 'man am i really gonna stan a group with geonu in it' but then they came back and i was like nahhh yongguk has to pull up and save them fr, i was never a bap fan but i've been finding myself discovering their discography again lately and their spot hasn't really been replaced yet, so!!! maybe just b can find their niche and we can continue our lim jimin akgaery in peace

tbh i don't follow just b but i find it so funny that lim jimin hangs out in the same group as heeseung (beomgyu's 01z lol), despite them virtually having no connection to each other, but there was no mention of geonu and chu jimin whatsoever, despite all of them being the same age and training in the same company before. while watching i-land, geonu came off to me as... resentful? i suppose. he had a specific grudge against heeseung, it was mind-boggling to me. in the very beginning, he said that he didn't know why hee was overhyped and was the only one that didn't vote him into i-land, then he ganged up on him with the whole first mission shebang. chu jimin also has some strange vibes but he didn't have any screentime in i-land so i won't go too hard on him lmao.

it went pretty well!! the interviewer seemed pleased with my answers fjfjfjjf i’m not exactly sure how to phrase this properly but i’ll be working as an assistant editor at a company which publishes english as a second language textbooks. they’re gonna mail me a trial text tomorrow and based on the work i do they will decide if i am fit for the job kinda stressed but also very excited cuz i’ve wanted to do this exact kind of work since i was in elementary haha

yoooo fellow sm stan!!! i stanned nct in 2017-2018 before discovering skz and the sad part is that i hated regular so much i unstanned them. i had even preordered the album goddamn no complaints for the photobook, it was very much like a fashion magazine which i Love, but the regular-irregular album was mehhhh for me. i still listen to nct on and off though, they rarely release uninteresting title tracks so they keep me on my toes lol. AND SIMON SAYS WENT SO HARD PEOPLE WHO HATE IT JUST DON’T GET IT also skz are sorta acquired taste, so i understand if you don’t like them haha. funnily enough i am also a big tortoise and the hare enjoyer, i think it’s prolly my fave song by them!! the noeasy album was a bit messy for me which led me to becoming uninterested, added to the fact that i had stanned them for two years by the time that album was released so i kinda wanted to find a new interest nfnfnfnfm. my new favs by them are definitely silent cry, freeze and muddy water, i think they’re worth a listen ya but jeon woong is a hottie well recency bias plays a big part here lol. i’ve been listening to lucifer religiously for 10 years, platonic love and chaser for 6 years LMAO. but they’re really difficult songs to top, it doesn’t get better than that in kpop hey man i’m the same age as jungwon and they’re still too young people born in 2008 are in MIDDLE SCHOOL and i finished high school this year for reference. idols should definitely not be debuted that young, but part of me thinks one of the less mentioned factors is that they do it to make sure they won’t jump ship in the long run. a teen trainee would rather choose stardom over education and in seven years’ time, when they haven’t finished high school and potentially have limited legal knowledge and undeveloped social skills, they have no choice but to continue the idol game. i mean, when tvxq debuted they were barely 18, but when suju debuted leeteuk and heechul were already 22. sm didn’t have long term plans for suju as a group (no particular talent, less visuals), but tvxq were supposed to blow up just like boa (who infamously debuted at 13). it sucks a lot sigh

haha i also think we have different preferences. i generally prefer "noise" music, but like. the good stuff. for instance, side effects by skz was bullied to hell and back but it goes harder than 99% of kpop and there's so many things that make it work for me: the change to 12/8 for the chorus, the sampling, the aaaa... mori... apeu... da... like i want noise music that pushes the envelope, another good example is mad dog by nct 127 which a lot of people hated but it's so strange it becomes good. anything by swervy or gwangil jo also gets a pass from me lol. the thing with other 'noise music' makers is that they try copying skz or nct and they remove all the substance. groups like p1harmony and epex make me wanna break a wall white guy style cuz their songs sound like they were written in 5 minutes and they just told some malnourished teenagers to act like street thugs also!!! light by wanna one is good haha, that 'do you feel the sameeee' is so cathartic. i had totally forgotten the title though i'm of the opinion that the rigged one was kuanlin, iirc he had a really big slump in ranks around the end. jisung is a king fr, he was one of the few popular trainee that i feel deserved his popularity 100%

i think the main reason wanna one never clicked for me is the fact that their music just isn't my style at all. like of course energetic is an iconic song and one of the VERY FEW instances of good tropical house (remember that shit?) in kpop, but if you ask me to name any other song of theirs i won't be able to tell you lol. i think the biggest shock to me after the end of wanna one was the fact that park jihoon actually released a song that i really enjoy??? literally the last person i expected quality from but it was a welcome surprise regardless. i'd love to see him do a totally uncensored interview where he talks about his career, from going viral to going down the road of irrelevance. i feel like he would tell a good story. tbf haknyeon was totally immature but the way he was treated by both cre.ker and knets made me root for him all the way. cre.ker essentially dumped him in the show a few weeks before it started cuz they wanted to get rid of him. not to mention he was a loen trainee which wouldn't gain him favours with mnet/cje&m, but in the end he became popular to the dismay of like everyone lol. knets were totally disgusting towards him, with the racism and the death threats and basically all the nasty stuff you can imagine. in the end it's better that he didn't make it into w1 i think, but he's definitely in the top 11 in my heart <333 and yes yoon jisung is a beauty omg. i can't say i care much about his career but he is just so charming and funny, i think he went into the show with like 0 expectations and that contributed to him having no filter LMAO. he was so much fun i-land rant under the spoiler
