ohhhhh yeah baby this is the one!! i think it's interesting how jayhoon is pretty unpopular in the intl fandom but it's one of the most popular ships in the domestic fandom, their dynamic is almost straight out of tv tropes LMAO

wrt figure skating being considered gay, i tend to agree with @Chika Chika. no matter how popular it may be, i feel like there is always a sort of stigma around the young guys. it's a bit of an indirect comparison but i used to do ballet for a long time as a child and there were usually only one or two guys performing at the year-end show. i was too young personally to consider anything like sexuality, but rumours were always circulating with the older girls about the guys' heterosexuality. in sunghoon's case, he Was the one guy in a sea of girls. the nature of the sport is such that it does bring unwanted attention on the boys, so i find it likely the poor guy had to deal with rumours during his figure-skating career about something so personal, either in front of him or behind his back. it sucks a lot sigh

it's funny that you mention jake because i've always thought sunghoon's sussiest side comes out when he's interacting with jay. i feel like after the whole sunoo issue we've forgotten that jay is also teased all the time. the jjongsaeng thing is an overkill but sunghoon more than anyone else just won't. stop. saying it. and he also delivers some pretty interesting reactions when jay claps back. there's this particular moment from a vlive (apologies for no source) where jay is staring sunghoon down and sunghoon refuses to make eye contact but he's got an awkward smile on his face. this guy just keeps ratting on himself and i can't even clown him, it's honestly kinda cute lol.

another curious sunghoon moment for me is this one. i love how at the end he says that it's a hobby of his, but i'm not sure whether he means teasing sunoo or watching his aegyo compilations. either of the two choices are gay as hell doe

yk what's funny is that in my first week of consuming enhypen content i saw sunghoon and thought 'this guy's got a lot of issues with himself doesn't he'. i just feel like he restricts himself from doing what he really wants, as if he's holding himself to some sort of standard. maybe that has to do with his background as a stage child? i won't pretend like i know the guy irl because i clearly don't but i feel like he exaggerates his masculinity in order to ham up something that isn't there in the first place. sunghoon is crap at acting so if you spend like thirty mins max watching his content you can tell that the image he's pushing of himself is totally different to who he actually is. the members themselves said he is really private off-cam so i dunno if he's ever gonna open up to like. anyone about his concerns or if he's gonna be true to himself. 

fwiw, he reminds me of a very particular type of gay guy in my home country – most of the guys that my gay friends dated in high school fit in this trope lol. a boyish guy in his late teens/early 20s who wants to repress his gay thoughts and might even be openly homophobic/femmephobic (!!) but lurks on grindr and texts every other twink. ik it's a very specific image but whenever sunghoon does his roundabout gay shit it gives me so much deja-vu to those dating app types. it's to the point where if he ever says anything homophobic i won't even be mad, i'll just be like "okay buddy. whatever you say." maybe my impression of sunghoon is totally wrong and he's really just a hetero guy but??? i don't really see it, especially cuz i've seen loads of queer guys similar to him

whewww thankfully student services replied quickly so my visa is back to being processed! this shit is so stressful i swear, i am only praying the visa is out by the end of august cuz i gotta fly by mid-september  in britain's case, universities are desperate for money cuz brexit lost the uk loads of eu student money. from my country in particular, the number of students studying in the uk went down by 85% !!! which is so fuckin crazy but also deserved. soooo it's in their best interests to help eu/intl students quickly LMAO
