i was so excited for it and then it got postponed last minute because of park hyesoo, the female lead's scandal. it would've been nct jaehyun's acting debut. back in april kbs said it'll be aired in august (https://www.koreaboo.com/news/dear-m-controversy-park-hyesu-broadcast-august/). october is ending now and we haven't heard anything but silence from them. is this their way of lowkey cancelling it as a whole, just waiting for everyone to forget about it? honestly it feels like a slap in the face to everyone who worked so hard.

Girls planet 999 group name is kep1er
peach0827 replied to My Everything's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
girls planet is produce 101 rebranded. they can't call it produce anymore because of the x1 scandal. everything about the show is the same except the name of it. the coaches, the production company (mnet), everything. -

yeah i'm confused regarding bighit's (or hybe now) intention when it comes to i-land. there weren't any outstanding singers at all and the ones that ended up debuting were the most attractive and "quirky" guys that the fans found the most relatable. and example of this is jay and jake, they ranked pretty high throughout i-land when global voting was in play, but whenever they showed raw clips of them singing, they did pretty poorly and even other trainees on the show thought so. there was this instance where they were picking who gets which part and jay ended up losing against everyone cause none of the trainees voted for him to get any of the parts he tried out for: with mnet produce shows, you'll see bad apples but there will always be the aces with great vocals that probably end up debuting (izone for example). but i-land seemed to lack those aces... -
ngl the concept looks the same as dumb dumb, but dumb dumb was pretty successful so hopefully this does well too. somi fighting!

JYPE reveals new girl group name....
peach0827 replied to Mrs. Morale's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
i hate this new trend of throwing in numbers in group names. ke1pler too.. it seems like a cop out. "i can't come up with a cool original name so let's just add a number to a normal word like 'squad' to make it seem like we put thought into it" -
aespa's Giselle has shared an apology on Twitter
peach0827 replied to Lee's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
wendy's case is arguably one of the most widespread "cancellations" by international fans in kpop. she was dragged like crazy for MONTHS, people went as far as screaming "racist" at her in public and she never responded. i wonder what made sm change their mind regarding apologies. it must have been pretty recent because earlier this year hendery wasn't allowed to discuss his ca (when a fan asked him on a fan call, he said "let's not talk about this right now"). jaehyun never apologized for doing the same thing as giselle either. -

dang i didn't know doyoung was discussed here alongside jaehyun and yuta (i'm fairly new). looking at his older pics now, his face does seem to change quite often. sometimes his face looks more soft and youthful and sometimes it looks more sharp. i guess his the latter is when the fillers wear off. in the pic you posted you could've told me that was a different person and i would've believed you- 26,504 replies

aespa's Giselle has shared an apology on Twitter
peach0827 replied to Lee's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
this is a first for sm lol now i wish they would let all the other artists that got dragged from hell to back apologize too. where was this energy with wendy or half of nct? why is giselle alllowed to apologize and not them? -
is this a debut track? the vocals kinda remind me of kachi, a bit underproduced. i think that's a common occurrence at small companies though since they don't have a lot of money for good studio equipment. the song is alright
-
the song is miles better than sticker. i don't like the beginning or the part right after the chorus, but i like the bridge and chorus. also that dance break is so random lol i giggled a bit. exo vibes for sure (not a bad thing)

i think it's the nose that throws me off. man, these guys should stop at double eyelid. he was already handsome to begin with i don't see it that much either but it's been an ongoing thing since bts and txt's first interaction vlog was released, one of the bts members commented how they look alike. taehyun does "stand out" for sure, i think because of his unique features (massive eyes), but imo i don't think he's too fixed up other than his nose. could be wrong though. i think other txt members (like yeonjun) got more done than him for sure. has doyoung gotten anything done for sure? i don't pay attention to all nct 127 that much but as far as i've seen the only very obvious member is jaehyun with his jaw and fillers and yuta with his chin. at this point i'm pretty used to some members having a different face every comeback lol- 26,504 replies

ngl i like enhypen and they hold a special place in my heart because i watched them on i-land, but i agree, their singing talents are mediocre at best. anyone who watched i-land will know that the only notable vocalists in the group are heeseung and maybe jungwon. some of the members are quite literally tone deaf. however, the tone deaf members are amazing, above average dancers. so i think enhypen raise the standard with their above average choreography. none of the members suck at dancing per se. eh i think the only current rookie group that has notable singing skills are aespa (ningning carries). most others are mediocre. you gotta admit, sm artists have their vocals in check. even if the music is pots and pans sometimes lol -

unrelated but doesn't she look a bit like kim seonho? speaking of kim seonho though, has he gotten anything done? i'm watching hometown chachacha right now and i can't help but notice that his face looks very "done" to me. i think he's one of those cases where you can tell he's gotten plastic surgery without even seeing predebut photos (similar to lee jong suk, his nose job can be spotted from space)- 26,504 replies

idk it's been an inside joke since txt's debut that taehyun looks a bit like jungkook. and then somehow heeseung also does, strange coincidence. taehyun definitely had a nose job, but then again so did jungkook so maybe the plastic surgeon had a sense of humour. but i think what makes them look alike is the eyes not the nose. as for heeseung, not sure if he had anything done except for the obvious veneers that are too big for his mouth- 26,504 replies

Giselle in trouble for saying/lipsyncing the N word confidently
peach0827 replied to pinkpanda_spirit's topic in Random
personally i'm really confused as to how these types of things can still happen "on accident". 2014/2015, fine, kpop was still very sheltered and even many westerners didn't know about cultural appropriation or the history behind the n word and why you shouldn't say it. but since then, SO many idols have gotten in trouble for doing culturally insensitive things. i couldn't count on my fingers how many idols have worn cornrows, said n word or did something else that's distasteful and got backlash for it. surely they know by now?? how could they still not know when it's been all over the media for the past few years, they don't live under a rock, they're teenagers with a phone and probably active social media presence. giselle went to an international school with many foreigners, some of whom were of african descent. she's 19 (or 20? same difference) and has probably been using social media most of her teenage years. how could she not have known, seriously? at this point i'm wondering if they do these things on purpose, out of spite. because i can't come up with any other reason. -
Which male idols do you think are gay?
peach0827 replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
i see where you're coming from. i think it could be argued both ways, which is more moral: lying about being accepting vs not lying but having harmful views. i think it's a really difficult thing to weigh out tbh lol because while i see how idols being accepting, even if they're lying, could help lgbt issues socially, i still think the companies forcing idols to be accepting comes across as insincere and maybe causes them resentment too. and yeah i agree that most idols are completely fake and marketed how their company thinks they should be to attract as many young girls as possible. we really know nothing about how any idol is in real life, which is more of a reason as to why i think fans who blindly assume that their idols are perfect people who have super liberal and open-minded views should wake up for their own good. -

peach0827 replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
fair point, but i'd argue that the korean entertainment industry is a lot different than the western counterpart in regards to how it attracts lgbt individuals. like in korea the industry has only recently started to stray away from being very heteronormative, if you look at kpop before maybe 2017/2018, most boy group releases screamed "i'm a strong macho boy i like females heck yeah", see: got7, bts, nct and most other big bgs. even though the industry has definitely improved in that sense since then (some bgs making their lyrics gender neutral, breaking gender norms etc..), it's still pretty heteronormative. most of the time when you listen to a bg song you'll hear a "girl" in the lyrics somewhere lol but you could also argue that being an entertainer itself is something that has a disproportionate lgbt rep no matter how the industry looks or how the entertainers are supposed to portray themselves, so i do get where you're coming if that's what you mean. i haven't seen any research on that, but if that is the case, i still think fans who blindly assume that their idols are supportive of the lgbt community shouldn't trust their idols with their whole heart, as they could get hurt in the future if the opposite were proven to be true. -

peach0827 replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
i agree with everything you've said this is just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt, but i also think fans like that shine a bad light onto the lgbt community as a whole. i wouldn't be surprised if a lot of idols are secretly homophobic and think their foreign fans who come on their fan calls and act like that are freaks. it's easy to have your whole image of an idol in your head be how they're the most open minded, lgbt friendly, gay asf person out there, but reality is probably very different. recent polls suggest only about 50% of koreans are supportive of the lgbt, granted the numbers are a bit higher for people aged 18-29 like most of these idols are, but still. there's bound to be a lot of homophobes in the industry, especially males since the numbers are lower for them. i'd rather for an idol to be honest about their views than to be forced to nod and smile by the company whenever controversial topics are brought up and blind their delusional fans even more. -
omgg so cool i love it. nice to see they're switching the concept up a little. really excited for the cb now, i hope they let them rest a bit after though they've been super active this year. reminds me of 2017/2018 when they had a cb every 2 months lol
