Her head voice at its best can pierce through I would think judging from this compilation

A rare feat she performs, but how good is Kristin Chenoweth's belting/mixing? (it's far from her head voice of course afaik, which has, if I understand the standard, true operatic ring) ^1:28 - 1:41 ^2:09 - 2:32 (Matthew Morrison's G4 at 0:55 here is iconic) ^1:57 - 2:15 (follow up how's her G3s at the beginning) 2:46 - 3:15 3:35 - 3:54

Reading back on the discussions on Lee Younghyun and Big Mama as a whole, where exactly do they place in the tiers?
-
I liked Lea's rendition more, the song itself just suits a theater style of singing and Lea just gives off Broadway when singing
-
Ditto, she lacks a lot of chest coordination, I read that reduces strength in your singing when relying too much on a lighter coordination, which I'm guessing is why her fifth octave notes are questionable.

what's the consensus with Lea Salonga's voice type (and her vocal technique overall)? A lot of people claim she's a mezzo (since apparently she herself claims to be so) but a there are probably an equal amount of arguments that her voice sounds too youthful and bright to be a mezzo. Then again, she doesn't seem to be all that comfortable in the fifth octave, so it could be so. ^ she just hits a C#6 here I think

Does Yeonjung tie with Seulgi and Jihyo as well? It's a fairly common thought on yt I haven't heard much material from her but it seems like Seulgi (and maybe Jihyo at times with her chestiness) has a stronger sound in her midrange usually than Yeonjung does, cmiiw

Follow up question, G#3 - C#5/D5 - E5 makes Barrett AA-P? Or does she reach Proficient with her output?
-
Thanks for the answer, from initial listening she does sound good around G#3 - D5. Does her technique just make her a chesty soprano then? I've been reading that she's a mezzo but her timbre and the way she tackles high fifth octave belts seems to imply otherwise.

Hey I've got another question about a musical theater actor From what I'm listening to... Does she have G#3 - D5?

Hey yall, any thoughts on good ol Wolverine aka Hugh Jackman from this one vocal range vid of his seven years ago Plus this relatively recent video of him singing starting at 1:40
-
Hey everyone! Back again asking what are your opinions on this woman here. Her belting range is extensive and honestly impressive regardless if she might be deemed "screechy"
-
I, as the person who initially asked the question, don't particularly mind though , they're interesting to say the least.
-
Thanks for the lengthy response! I guess giving him Bb4/B4 was a tad too generous on my part.

I actually had no doubt that he's a tenor the G#2- E3 would be much louder if he were a baritone, yes? Thanks for your answer!

Hello! I've been a recent lurker here and decided to make an account, seeing as how a lot have been popping up recently. I'd like to ask about Ben Platt, and correct me if my assumptions are wrong (and possibly the terminology I'm using) Based on this video: I'm not quite sure on his lower register though, does his projection without a (too) depressed larynx reach down to as low as the G#2? Or is it just 'til the C3? The lower moments (C3 first, down to a whispery F#2) start and begin around 1:54 to 3:07. His well-placed belts/mix seem to end in the Bb4/B4 area (not always 100% confident), bright and open from 5:25 - 5:50 and I think the B4's after that seem nice as well. His upper register doesn't seem airy at all, and I'm not sure enough to call anything a "connected head voice", but it sounds good up to the F#5. Thank you for the answers!
