@ZRH23 @ParkHyoLee The Yona video is ready. I tried to use as much recent material as I could and worked on it quite a lot so I hope its alright. Sadly I didn't find many C#5s, recent ones especially ... Do correct me if I am wrong with the pitch and feel free to watch and say what you think.

I think that this video made ppl think she have some head voice
-
Rose is such a good vocalist
-
Can you look at Swan's recent cover me and Renner asked about ? Edit: some time stamps 0:00-0:30, 1:04-1:13 singing down to G3 0:34, 0:41 light upper register C5s 1:15, 1:19, 1:24-1:28, 1:33, 1:40 belted C5s 1:58 C5-A4 2:01-2:03 growled Eb5 and some phrased C5 2:05-2:17 head voice (?) up to Eb5 2:19-2:30 A4-Eb5 belts 2:45 C5 2:46 E5
-
Everyone are really into those ranking videos this days ... This one is : (
-
@ZRH23 do you mind looking at it ? the C5s are the thing I am interested about the most in this cover ...
-
So we have another 4th gen average vocalists, thats nice lol.
-
Is this vocalist average or close to average ? her mid range doesn't sound too bad but she is a bit like Denise on some of the mixing ... 1:38-1:58, 2:26-2:45, 3:06-end, is the belting.
-
She sound pretty shallow to me, she puts more effort into the belts though.
-
Dawon's C5s are mostly not supported and she is not on a similar level to Sejeong, this Reggie Vu video you are basing it off wasn't the most accurate. (You know that she is just A-AA, right ?) Its not just small inconsistencies, she always had troubles with C5s and sometimes B4s and C#5s are really not something she have consistently or at all yet.
-
It isn't about her C5s only like you suggest I will say that she is still better than Suhyun who is high A... (but maybe I am wrong)
-
Around Sixteen and debut she had less problems I will say that she was leaning more toward high average then.
-
Dawon is average Sejeong is stronger than her, Seunghee had some questionable moments in her recent performances I won't rank her high in A-AA so idk if she is the strongest out of them, and Jeongyeon is still passable as average ? or maybe I am wrong.
-
Are you sure ?
-
It isn't unusual for her, even during their debut era she had moments like that.
-
Moonbyul too lol

@BabyKBKHere are few Hwasa 2020-2021 clips. (I hope that I am not wrong with the pitch I don't have time to double check it now) 0:09-0:15, 1:03-1:11 some singing around Bb3-F4 0:18-0:26 4th octave belts and a C#5/D5. 1:08, 1:15, 1:29 A4-B4 1:35 sustained A4 1:41 phrased C5s 1:45 phrased C5s and a D5 1:48 A5-G5 in falsetto. 0:28-1:18, 1:50-2:00 lighter singing up to Bb4. 0:28-0:32, 1:58 phrased A4. 4:36-5:10 C5s. 3:40-3:46 phrased C5s and a D5. 9:26-9:28 C5s.
-
Sure I will link some performances soon
-
Nah, I disagree she still can sound freer nowadays she is not always THAT stuck and tight.
-
I wouldn't say that its strained either
-
So I discovered this 4th gen idol while searching for Forsake performances, how good is she ? her mid range is less small and nasal than some other new vocalist but she sound more tight and pushed when belting. She start belting around 1:20
-
3:32 relaxed phrased C#5, 3:43 this one is also ok. (its from 2020 though maybe she was better then) 1:20-1:35 B4-C#5 she is singing with more chest (or just with more connection) on some of those she is tight occasionally but not bad. 2:17-2:26 light C#5s are tight but passable I guess, 4:38 onward some of the C#5s are passable.
-
I searched for some more stuff, seems like she can still keep a relatively more projected output up to B4 sometimes and her phrased C5/C#5s are still decent, maybe she is Kei's level ? or tied with Hwasa on low AA ?
-
There is nothing new to notice as far as I can tell, some of the belts are kinda light and it isn't very unusual for her in terms of range.
-
Oh yeah I agree I didn't say that it isn't valid and I won't be confident saying so when I barley know about the actual CVT, its just that this channel specifically give certain vocalists too much credit for bright light notes much higher than what they can handle.
