    I think the biggest problem with double eyelid surgery is that it can actually fail, and you can end up exactly back where you started.

    I don't think veneers and braces are exactly use in place of each other. Veneers make the size of the teeth even, and the color very white, but they go over a "stump" of the original tooth. If your teeth are not aligned, veneers can't make them align.

    I remember a time when idols would wear concealer on the outside of their lips to make them smaller, and idols with really thick lips would even get weird comments saying they "look black".

    While I agree kpop procedures can go overboard with what she thinks people have done, I find the photos she selects very helpful because she always shows photos with a similar expression and angle, as well as cropped close ups. It makes subtle differences easier to spot and avoids confusion from simple angle and expression changes.

    The actual answer to this is that they have different concepts for people visuals at debut and sometimes actual try to deliberately have "ugly" idols in large groups to contrast with the visuals. Going back to the OG massive group Suju, you had Eunhyuk and Shindong who were supposed to be the "ugly" ones. Eunhyuck even said he was told not to have any surgery. Probably what happened w SNSD too, some were supposed to be the "ugly" ones at debut but then had more ps over the years cause they were sick of that label.

    There are kids in entertainment who get PS in the US too, probably in every country. And I've speculated before that if the parent isn't fine with it, they might just have the manager sign off as the "guardian" on forms. Nobody would actually check the signature unless something goes badly wrong.

    For me, the thing that looks really off is the jaw shave+ veneers or corner lip surgery +veneers. Like that just makes it look like they have too many teeth when they smile which really freaks me out. But other surgeries even of they’re bad are still tolerable.

    It might actually be necessary for them to keep having them redone. If you have an implant they can warp over time, and they can also slide around and shift out of place, especially if you do a lot of intense physical activity like dancing, and double especially if you didn't give the nose enough time to set after the surgery before resuming physical activity. So it's not that surprising if they have to keep replacing the implants.
